Carrie Fisher is remembered for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise. Fisher sadly passed away in 2016. However, before her passing the actress published a memoir that explored her work on George Lucas’ epic space opera saga. In the book, Fisher also revealed her affair with co-star Harrison Ford.

Despite speaking out about the decades-old affair, Fisher refused to share any details about Ford’s personal life, trying to honor his desire for privacy in his personal life. Furthermore, when Ford finally broke his silence on the memoir, the Han Solo actor had a strange reaction in the wake of Fisher’s passing. Here is what Fisher and Ford have said about their affair.

It seems we’ll be seeing a lot of the Daily Planet in James Gunn’s Superman, as the director has assembled quite the cast of characters to fill the ranks of the newspaper. THR reports that Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of Superman as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively.
Cat Grant is a gossip columnist who was introduced as a potential love interest for Clark Kent. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway and has made the leap to live-action several times before, notably by Tracy Scoggins in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and by Calista Flockhart in Supergirl. As for Ron Troupe, the character was created by Jerry Ordway and Tom Grummett and is regarded as one of the Daily Planet’s best reporters. James Gunn is filling out the Daily Planet newsroom.
Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of Gunn’s Superman, the inaugural movie of DC Studios.
The feature is currently in production in Atlanta with David Corenswet starring as Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.
The duo will have company on the news desk. Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Saturday Night Live alum Beck Bennett had joined the production to play Steve Lombard, a blowhard and self-serving reporter who in the comics serves as a foil to boy scout reporter Kent.
Sources tell THR that Hoover is playing Cat Grant, who in the comics was a gossip columnist who had her eyes set on Kent. The character, created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway, has appeared in several TV shows, most notably in CW’s Supergirl in which she was played by Calista Flockhart.

Portraying the role of Princess Leia in the Star Wars film series, Carrie Fisher has become one of the most legendary pop culture icons. The actress, who starred alongside Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford in the film series, captivated the audience with her charm and her on-screen chemistry with Han Solo. However, things behind the scenes were far more complex.

In her memoir The Princess Diarist, the actress revealed her whirlwind affair with Ford while filming the 1977 film A New Hope. She revealed that they had a brief fling for three months, however, she always felt that her love for her co-star was unreciprocated, while wondering if Ford ever truly understood the depth of her feelings for him.

“I wanted it to be alive more than anything, and there to be a sense of real delight and weirdness,” reveals “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” composer Julia Newman about her score for the FX limited series. For our recent webchat she adds, “What I love so much about this show is that there’s no good guys, but we empathize at different moments with all of the characters. Everyone inhabits a real humanness and in inhabiting that humanness, of course, everybody is flawed. I loved the idea of Truman Capote always listening, always with the typewriter going on, as everybody was always scheming. It’s actually part of what makes the story so powerful. As shallow as human beings can get and as deep as human beings can get, what does it mean to be on your deathbed and to regret a friendship lost? That’s so profound. So,...

Rachel Dratch made her first appearance on Saturday Night Live October 23rd 1999. It was a bit part—she played Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart in a parody of an MSNBC panel show—but Dratch killed it so hard that she was asked to bring the same impression back the very next episode. Already on her way, a week later she and Jimmy Fallon brought down the house in the first “Boston Teens” sketch.
But as she reveals to Mark Malkoff, Dratch’s rocket ship to SNL royalty had a slower start than it seemed to viewers watching at home at the time. In fact, she spent her first two episodes on the job without a single sketch making it to air.
Needless to say, Dratch quickly made up for lost (air)time, enjoying a legendary seven-year run on the show, and returning to cameo a whopping 14 times.

“It was fun to pivot,” shares Lou Eyrich about the change of milieu from the first to second installments of FX’s anthology series “Feud.” She was the costume designer on the first season “Bette and Joan” back in 2017, and though she now mostly collaborates with Ryan Murphy as a producer, she seized on the opportunity to return as costumer for “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.” The designer describes the difference between the two sets of episodes as “going from a Hollywood movie perspective to this elite group of socialite jet-setters in New York, Manhattan, at the time, and they were the original influencers.” Gold Derby spoke with Eyrich as part of our “Meet the Experts” TV costume design panel. Fumi Nikaido could be one of several “Shōgun” stars who go on to earn Emmy nominations for their career-best work in the FX series.

Meanwhile, a British sailor (Cosmo Jarvis) begins a brand new life after becoming shipwrecked in Japan and entering the service of Hiroyuki Sanada‘s Lord Yoshii Toranaga.
Jarvis and Sanada are both competing for lead actor nominations and so, too, is Anna Sawai. It’s easy to think of the kind of stories that get told in the comic book world as just one genre or tone, but as seen below, graphic novels, comic strips, and other sequential art have offered up an incredible range of storytelling. And these stories have been inspiring great TV shows for years, even before superhero stories dominated the box office.
There were plenty of options that nearly made the list, like the WB’s “Smallville,” which squandered its early potential after running just a few seasons too long. Because one of the most exciting things about these stories is that there’s a rich variety to choose from.
With editorial contributions from Liz Shannon Miller, Ben Travers, and Hanh Nguyen.

Calista Flockhart has reflected on her time in the title role of hit legal drama Ally McBeal, saying she “felt on trial” herself in the media.
Flockhart played the part of McBeal in the series that ran for five seasons between 1997 and 2002, and increasingly focused on the romantic lives of the lead characters.
Despite, or because of, its popularity with viewers, the show became a litmus paper for commentary in the media, with Time magazine suggesting that it signified the “death of feminism” with the female cast members’ short skirts and slim figures.
Flockhart told The Times of London that what had started out as “creating something really special” then “went to s**t” with all the scrutiny of her character’s appearance and obsession with her biological clock, symbolised by the vision of a dancing baby. She recalled:
“My short skirts, allegedly the death of feminism and, of course,...

Our predicted lineups have changed significantly within the last week alone, indicating increased support for some programs and greater apathy toward others.
Four new predicted acting nominees have emerged since April 1. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans Episode 8, “Phantasm Forgiveness.”] Feud: Capote Vs. Unable to resolve his various feuds with the remaining titular swans — Slim (Diane Lane), Lee (Calista Flockhart), and C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) — Truman decides to occupy a fantasy world in which he offers up forgiveness in exchange for acceptance from his former confidantes. While Babe (Naomi Watts) is no longer there to provide him with such a fantasy, given that she died in the prior episode, that lingering regret eats at him along with the ghost of his mother, played by the deliciously vicious Jessica Lange. By the episode’s end, Truman has died and his ashes are being sold at auction. As the ghosts of his swans watch on, there’s a funeral feeling to it all. As...

American socialite and former magazine editor Babe Paley was married to CBS founder William S. Paley for 31 years. But according to Naomi Watts, who portrays her in Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, her relationship with Truman Capote was the deepest romance she’d ever had — minus the sex.
“Babe gave herself to this man and all of her secrets,” Watts tells The Hollywood Reporter in the conversation below. “She really trusted him, thinking they were such close friends that he would never dare to expose them.”
It’s for that reason Capote’s actions led to Paley “just [coming] undone,” the star and executive producer had explained earlier in the season to reporters, including THR. “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” pits the incendiary author Truman Capote against a “gaggle” of New York socialites, but there is one “swan” that is truly at the heart of the roost, namely, Babe Paley, played by Naomi Watts. Since Babe is the closest of all the women to the writer, his betrayal of the group in 1975 in his scathing “Esquire” excerpt from his unfinished novel “Answered Prayers” hits her the hardest, and the other swans rally to her defense to ice the “In Cold Blood” scribe out of the upper echelons of society.
What makes the relationship between Babe and Truman so compelling—in addition to the performances of Watts and Tom Hollander—is how much we see of their friendship blossoming. The entire opening sequence of the season shows Capote comforting and strategizing with Babe over how to handle the latest and most disgraceful of her husband Bill’s (Treat Williams) infidelities.

Feud: Capote vs. the Swans is a reunion for Calista Flockhart and showrunner Jon Robin Baitz, who created Brothers & Sisters on which the actress starred during its five-season run. [This story contains spoilers from episode five of Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, “The Secret Inner Lives of Swans.”]
In a move that likely would’ve been met with disapproval by Truman Capote’s once-beloved “swans,” the wealthy socialite foes of the In Cold Blood author are decentralized in episode five of Feud: Capote vs. The Swans in favor of opening up dialogue about the position gay men were allowed to occupy in 1970s New York high society.
The writers and executive producers of the second season in Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology use a fictionalized meeting between Capote (Tom Hollander) and writer and civil rights activist James Baldwin (Chris Chalk) as a vehicle to unearth the truth that, beyond feeling a sense of embarrassment from Capote exposing their deepest darkest secrets in a four-part essay series in Esquire magazine, the swans were also taken aback by Capote’s audacity to be anything more than their immortally loyal gay sidekick.

Being badass on the screen and off the screen are two very different things and not everyone has the personality or guts to do both. However, there are always exceptions and Harrison Ford might be the biggest one in this scenario. The legendary American actor will also go down in history definitely as one of the best interviewees the industry has ever seen.

Harrison Ford is always charismatic in interviews
Not a lot of actors can draw the attention of people both on and off the screen as well as Harrison Ford does. Ford is one of the most established actors in the industry and the Star Wars actor is always making headlines for one reason or another.

When Babe Paley meets Truman Capote for the first time in 1955 in the FX anthology series “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” it is the story of Ann Woodward that the famous writer tells in order to captivate her and her luminous friends. As Tom Hollander relishes one of Capote’s many rich monologues, we see Demi Moore as Woodward playing out two versions of the gruesome tale of the death of her husband – one in which she mistakenly shoots him, thinking he’s a burglar, the other in which she commits an act of intention homicide.
When, by the end of the premiere episode, Capote publishes his infamous excerpt from the unfinished novel “Answered Prayers” in “Esquire” in 1975, it is Woodward who takes her own life. While not one of the most prominent characters in the show, Woodward and her demise demonstrate the stakes of the feud at the heart of the series’ title.

After the disappointing “Masquerade 1966,” Feud needs to get back on track. With another time jump, this time to the aftermath of the Esquire article, Capote finds himself at odds with his Swans again. Throughout “It’s Impossible,” director Gus Van Sant tries to elevate the periphery characters. However, as the various women push back on their ringleader – Slim (Diane Lane) – it appears the Swans are ready to invite Truman back into their circle. Unfortunately, “It’s Impossible” sucks the oxygen out of the room and makes us question why the infighting continues. Van Sant directs “It’s Impossible” from the teleplay by Jon Robin Baitz.

[This story contains spoilers from the fourth episode of Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, “It’s Impossible.”]
For Diane Lane, the entire premise of Feud: Capote vs. the Swans is full of complexity and layers.
As the FX series depicts the fallout from Truman Capote’s “La Côte Basque” — a chapter from his unfinished novel, Answered Prayers, that was excerpted in Esquire‘s November 1975 issue that caused a giant rift between the acclaimed writer and his “Swans” — the actress can’t help but notice the irony that she’s playing socialite Slim Keith, one of the Swans that was outraged by Capote’s thinly veiled portrait of the elite milieu in which she was a part. “I imagine them sitting on a sofa, enjoying champagne and popcorn, and having the last laugh on all of us,” says Lane, who laughs at the meta nature of the show’s depictions of the secrets, lies and gossip shared between Keith’s wealthy cohort.

[This story contains spoilers from the third episode of Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, “Masquerade 1966.”]
The catalyst for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans‘ third episode is absolutely true.
On Nov. 28, 1966, Truman Capote held the Black and White Ball at New York City’s Plaza Hotel — an event so lavish, boasting a guest list so carefully edited, that The New York Times dubbed it “the best party ever” on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. As for the rest of what was seen during Wednesday night’s “Masquerade 1966,” well… liberties were taken.
A stylistic departure from the rest of the series, the Gus Van Sant-helmed hour is largely presented as a black-and-white documentary of the party and Capote’s (Tom Hollander) weeks of preparations for his big night. At its heart, it’s a flashback episode, with the Swans seen in various states of anxious planning — most of them under the impression that they would be the event’s “guest of honor.

To “The Swans,” a coterie of New York high society women, Truman Capote was an amusing circus act. Known for penning Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood, these aristocratic ladies invited him to lavish dinner parties and fanciful getaways to indulge in his animated, gossip-filled stories. Author Laurence Leamer found himself captivated by Capote’s mélange of wit, joie de vivre, and callousness, and chronicled his falling-out with his one-percenter gal pals in the 2021 book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans, Episode 1, “Pilot.”] Feud is back and taking a deep dive into the lives of New York City’s ’60s and ’70s high society through the lens of Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) and his friendship with the “Swans,” among which are Babe Paley (Naomi Watts). As viewers see in FX‘s anthology, Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans sees the famed writer embed himself into the fabric of Manhattan’s most prominent women of the time, only to turn their deepest secrets into reading material. While there are other figures — Slim Keith (Diane Lane), C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny), Lee Radziwill (Calista Flockhart), Joanne Carson (Molly Ringwald), and Ann Woodward (Demi Moore) — who cross Capote’s path, none are as close to him as Babe, the wife of CBS founder Bill Paley (played by the late Treat Williams). Plot: Acclaimed writer Truman Capote surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed “the swans.” Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiated himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidante, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.

The cold shoulder is mightier than the pen in Capote Vs. The Swans, a dazzling new edition of Ryan Murphy’s Feud anthology. The first Feud series, which aired in 2017, depicted the juicy rivalry of Hollywood divas Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. The gossipy and rarefied New York world of Capote, as sharply written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters) and mostly directed by Gus Van Sant, takes us back to the 1970s’ “ladies who lunch” culture so memorably skewered by Stephen Sondheim in his breakthrough Company. These “dinosaurs surviving the crunch” are a glamorous if garishly unsatisfied bunch, epitomized by Babe Paley (the stunning Naomi Watts), a statuesque and starched beauty unhappily wed to the flagrantly unfaithful CBS magnate William S. Paley. Like her fellow socialites—an impeccably cast ensemble including Diane Lane (as Slim Keith), Chloë Sevigny (as C.Z. Guest), and Calista Flockhart (as the waspish Lee...

Although Feud: Capote vs. The Swans is only the second installment of Ryan Murphy’s Feud franchise — Bette and Joan aired way back in 2017 — the anthology’s core seems clear enough. To qualify as a Feud season, the focus must be on a rivalry of little to no cosmic importance that’s somehow integral to the very essence of the people involved. It must exist as nothing and everything all at once.
Capote vs. The Swans creator Jon Robin Baitz understands the general assignment. In focusing on the society kerfuffle between Truman Capote and some of the most powerful women of New York’s upper crust, Baitz has a clash that’s entirely inconsequential and yet cataclysmic within its milieu. Unfortunately, a jumbled approach to time and a limited understanding of character make it a story without momentum.

At the epicenter of New York City high society, Truman Capote learned a key lesson the hard way: don’t provoke the Swans. Tom Hollander plays the famed writer in the latest season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series “Feud” but it’s Capote’s coterie, played by Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, and Calista Flockhart, who run the show. “Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans” will premiere on FX on Wednesday, Jan. 31, with episodes available the following day on Hulu. You can watch Feud: Capote vs. the Swans and FX with a 5-Day Free Trial of Directv Stream. You can also watch with Sling TV, Hulu Live TV, Fubo, or YouTube TV.

Truman Capote is America’s Princess Diana. There, someone had to say it. In both instances, we remain obsessed not with the good work done but with the scandal-plagued, tragedy-tinted endings to two beloved figures. More than 40 years after Captote’s death by slow suicide (though officially it was liver failure), pop culture can’t get enough of his final years. Almost 20 years after the back-to-back film looks at his life, Jon Robin Baitz (“Brothers and Sisters”) brings Capote to TV with the second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series “Feud,” “Capote vs. The Swans.”
While the two movies about Capote’s life focused on the research and writing of his masterpiece “In Cold Blood,” “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” zeroes in on the work he published in the aftermath of that global success. Notably, a chapter from his work-in-progress “Answered Prayers” in which the novel’s narrator, P.B. Jones,...
