- CreatorJeff ChiangNahnatchka KhanStarsDwayne JohnsonJoseph Lee AndersonStacey LeiluaA look at the formative years of superstar Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as he grows up through life.A nice charming family comedy series that tells the story of the Rock growing up. Its not a laugh out loud comedy but a nice feel good series to watch. An enjoyable series, that hasn't yet to disappoint me. The influx of new episodes from season two and season three have continued to be enjoyable, however the Rock's excuse for reminiscing still comes off a little forced, but are at least more comedic.
- CreatorDavid CaspeJackie ClarkeStarsKenan ThompsonChris ReddKimrie LewisA recently widowed dad tries to raise his kids with his brother and persistent former father-in-law.Its more a sad-com then a sitcom, these actors are funny but the storylines aren't. Just when I am about to laugh, they hit me with a reminder Kenan is a widower. Another gripe is personally I don't enjoy the forced relationship between Mika and Kenan. While the show seems like its jumping the shark in season 2.
Season 2 opinion is that ultimately it is improving by fleshing out the characters but still falls flat with the comedy. - CreatorMaria FerrariDavid GoetschStarsParker YoungAdhir KalyanElizabeth AlderferThe friendship between Riley, a Marine combat veteran struggling to readjust to civilian life in Ohio, and Awalmir, the Afghan interpreter who served with his unit and has just arrived to start a new life in America.I don't like Chuck Lorre. This sitcom is okay however, regardless of the controversial nature of Al. I enjoy the show, Al is the best character by far, and the rest play supporting roles to his antics. I hope they flesh out the other characters eventually. The show is at it's best when everybody plays off Al, however dwindle when there apart. Flesh them out, please.
Season Two opener starts off strong and continues throughout the season. Building off relationships established in the first season and the writing has improved. - CreatorMarco PennetteStarsAnnaleigh AshfordThomas MiddleditchDarryl StephensNewly divorced dad Drew faces finding a kidney donor and is at the end of his rope and his hope when he runs into Gina, a rough-around-the edges woman from his past who volunteers her own.I saw the pilot and quit there because I found Gina annoying, Drew is clearly the best cast member playing the titular father who needs a kidney transplant. The situation isn't all that funny, but I am willingly to see how the series evolves. Similar to the issues with United States of Al it needs to flesh out the other characters other then the leads. Not a fan of Eli and Gina, but actually really liked Drew and Adriana. I just hope Gina and Drew aren't shipped together, which they sadly have hints of.
Mixed opinions on Season 2. It seems like a very jump the shark moment, the introduction of new characters to an already stacked ensemble makes this basically season 1 all over again. Also dislike the characterization of Gina being the grounded one and Drew becoming more wacky, ruins the dynamic. - CreatorRobert CarlockTina FeyStarsTed DansonHolly HunterVella LovellA wealthy businessman becomes the mayor of Los Angeles.I don't understand the purpose of Mikaela or Tommy's purpose on the show yet, everyone else does a good job. And this is yet another show that has a kid for basically the same purpose everyone else does, hate that trope. Decent show none the less.
- CreatorJoe PortJoe WisemanStarsRose McIverUtkarsh AmbudkarBrandon Scott JonesA young couple, Sam and Jay, inherit a haunted mansion and, unaware of their invisible housemates, plan to turn it into a B&B. Their lives become much more complicated after a fall causes Sam to see the ghosts. Based on the UK series.A talented cast, good characters and loads of potential although I cannot speak for certain between the similarities between this and the original it has a promising start.
- CreatorSaladin K. PattersonStarsElisha WilliamsDulé HillSaycon SengblohA man recalls his experiences growing up in Montgomery, Alabama during the late 1960s.A remake of a classic series which still showcases the heart, originality and charm of the original. Although some episodes plots have similarities to episodes from the classic series, it has room to grow due to it's talented cast.
- CreatorShion TakeuchiAlex HirschStarsLizzy CaplanChristian SlaterClark DukeFor employees of the Deep State, conspiracies aren't just theories, they're fact. And keeping them a secret is a full-time job.A solid premise, create cast, definitely a solid start for an interesting series however the use of swear words add nothing to the series aside from an adult raiting.
- CreatorQuinta BrunsonStarsQuinta BrunsonTyler James WilliamsJanelle JamesA workplace comedy centered around a group of dedicated teachers - and an oblivious principal - in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life.A decent première to the start of something that could be a special edition line up for ABC.
- CreatorJustin SpitzerStarsAna GasteyerHarriet DyerJon BarinholtzAt the headquarters of a major American automotive company in Detroit, a floundering group of executives try to rediscover the company identity amid a rapidly changing industry.A great workforce comedy that is setting itself up to be special; despite some jokes being huge misfires.
- CreatorPhil Augusta JacksonStarsEcho KellumNicole ByerJustin CunninghamA group of friends unpack the ups and downs of life and love at a wine bar.unexpectedly more then the some of its parts.
- CreatorDarlene HuntStarsMayim BialikSwoosie KurtzKyla PrattA 39-year-old woman decides to use the money her parents had been saving for her wedding to open a cat-themed cafe.As an adaptation of "Miranda" (an already mediocre British sitcom) it's bad, as an original thing it still is heavily flawed. Characters are stiff. The 4th wall breaks aren't used to their full effect; best character is the reoccurring french ex-girlfriend that Kat imagines "Bridgette."
- CreatorLiz AstrofStarsEliza CoupeGinnifer GoodwinMaggie QWhen psychologists advise them not to make any big decisions, three friends do exactly that; taking on the mid-life challenge they never saw coming, and upending their lives in an effort to find happiness while there is still time.Pivoting has the potential to be great but cannot judge it based on its first outing.
