I saw The Garfield Movie, starring the voices of Chris Pratt-the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Jennifer's Body; Samuel L. Jackson-almost any Marvel movie, Snakes on a Plane; Hannah Waddingham-The Fall Guy, Krypton_tv and Ving Rhames-the Mission: Impossible movies, Piraha 3D.
This is a kid friendly movie about a character that has been around since 1978-that was when the comic strip first appeared-named Garfield. It's an origin story about the Monday hating, lasagna loving cat. Chris voices Garfield and you learn how he got separated from his father, Samuel, at a young age and how he later moved in with Jon, his human owner and Odie, a dog. Chris is an indoor cat but when Samuel comes calling, needing his help, Chris goes on an outside adventure. Hannah voices a cat that has history with Samuel and wants him and Chris to pull off a heist for her. Ving voices a bull that helps Chris and his team during the heist and there is several cameos-one of the funniest was Snoop Dogg. It's aimed at the smaller kids and they should enjoy it. As the end credits start, there are live pictures of kittens doing stuff that kittens do and after the end is a short message from Garfield about why are you still in the theater? Waiting for the sequel?
It's rated PG for action/peril and has a running time of 1 hour & 41 minutes.
It would be a good one to stream for the little ones.
