The British singer-songwriter’s signatures have always been her powerhouse vocals, her confessional lyrics about heartbreak, and her unabashed emotion — she’ll make you cry or die trying. Her breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of her album “19,” which appropriately dropped when she was still 19-years-old. That collection was a modest hit — modest by her standards that is — peaking at number-four on the Billboard 200 albums chart and certified triple platinum in the US. It produced the single “Chasing Pavements,” which earned her her first Grammy noms for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and she won Best New Artist.
But that was just a hint of what was to come. Her next album, “21,” was a global phenomenon. Its lead single, “Rolling in the Deep,” became her first chart-topper in the US. The collection went 14-times platinum and swept the Grammys in 2012, including Album of the Year,...

Singer-songwriter Beyonce is set to perform at the upcoming edition of MTV Video Music Awards to mark its 40th anniversary this September.
This is the first time since 2016 when the ‘Cowboy Carter’ hitmaker will grace its stage, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
Back in 2016, she won eight trophies, and performed a 16-minute Lemonade medley.
Even having earned VMA nominations in 2018, 2020 and 2021, the 42-year-old still didn’t grace the show with an appearance and skipped last year to tour with Renaissance.
“Beyonce is a huge get for the VMAs and will be a huge ratings draw,” a source said.
“She is currently figuring out how her appearance will look and whether it will be one song or a tribute similar to her 2014 closing performance when she received the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.”
The source continued: “As it’s such a big year, the ceremony wants to reclaim some of its...

After impressing audiences and critics with her performance in Dune 2, Zendaya is back with her next film Challengers which is set to release in North America on 26th April, 2024. The story follows a former tennis player and coach who attempts to turn her husband into a champion, but comes face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend who is his competitor in a tournament.
Zendaya in Euphoria
The film which premiered in Los Angeles, is already receiving rave reviews from critics for Zendaya’s performance and her sizzling chemistry with her two co-stars. But the actor probably received the highest praise of all from a prominent figure who has been closely associated with her since her acting days as a teenager.

Beyoncé is never too shy to pay homage to the past and she set the internet ablaze when she recently sampled Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.” When Sinatra explained the song, Queen B’s decision to sample it made so much sense. In a way, “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” paved the way for some of Beyoncé’s best songs.
Nancy Sinatra said ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin” is perfect for certain women
During a 2004 interview with Hot Press, Sinatra discussed the impact music had one her life. “The music is the thread all the way through,” she said. “Classical piano for 12 years and teaching 40 girls in school how to sing in four-part harmony were two of my early passions. I lost my way for a little while but after my first so-called marriage (to teen idol Tommy Sands) ended I was able to...

A decade into her solo career, Beyoncé effectively evaded irrelevancy by wresting control of her own narrative. After her 2011 album 4 failed to produce a Top 10 hit—to date, her only album to do so—the singer began dropping albums without any pre-release promotion, sidestepping chart expectations and reimagining the traditional pop album release strategy. Since then, she’s done few interviews and often glides into awards shows donning dark shades and a straight face, shrewdly creating a superstar mystique in the vein of Michael Jackson and Prince.
That approach, thankfully, has been accompanied by some of Beyoncé’s most creative, political, and inspired work to date. Her 2016 visual album Lemonade drew on her personal experiences as a Black woman to comment on feminism and racism in the Me Too and Black Lives Matter era, while its follow-up, 2022’s Renaissance, kept the focus squarely on the music, inspired by and dedicated...

Zendaya was already a big star when she was cast as Mj in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” By that point in her career she had already amassed a huge following as the star of two Disney Channel hits, “Shake It Up” and “K.C. Undercover,” plus popped up in Beyonce’s “Lemonade” film and was a runner-up on “Dancing With the Stars.” None of that apparently registered for “Spider-Man” producer Amy Pascal.
“To be honest with you, neither [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige nor I knew who she was,” Pascal admitted in Vogue magazine as part of its Zendaya cover story. “She was wearing no makeup and she was just dressed like a regular girl, and we were like, ‘Oh my God, she’s amazing. She has to be in the movie.’ And then we found out she was a totally famous person, and felt really stupid.

This milestone is staying in the Carter family!
Rumi Carter officially became the youngest female artist to make it on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week thanks to her contribution to “Protector” on her mom Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.
With the distinction, she surpasses the record held by her older sister Blue Ivy, who earned the honor after joining Beyoncé on The Lion King: The Gift standout “Brown Skin Girl.” Blue Ivy was 7 years old at the time, while Rumi made the Hot 100 chart at 6 years and 9 months old.

Unsurprisingly, Beyonce‘s new album “Cowboy Carter” debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. But it was impressive even by her own standards. It launched with 407,000 equivalent album units based on its combined record sales, individual track sales and online streams. Read more about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
This is the eighth number-one album for Beyonce following “Dangerously in Love” (2003), “B’Day” (2006), “I Am … Sasha Fierce” (2008), “4” (2011), “Beyonce” (2013), “Lemonade” (2016) and “Renaissance” (2022). She ranks fourth among women for the most chart-toppers ever. This was also the best streaming week of her career with 232,000 units coming from on-demand online listens (which comes out to 300.41 million streams), no doubt helped by the fact that this was Beyonce’s longest album with 27 tracks.

That dropped Future and Metro Boomin‘s “We Don’t Trust You” to number-two with a still-impressive 131,000 units.

Beyoncé has landed another No. 1 album with Cowboy Carter.
Her country music album bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to Billboard and Luminate. Cowboy Carter, which dropped March 29, debuted with 407,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States for the week ending April 4.
This marks Beyoncé’s eighth No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. It also marks the biggest week for an album so far in 2024, and the biggest since Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which debuted with 1.653 million units in November.
It’s also Beyoncé’s biggest week since Lemonade debuted at No. 1 with 653,000 units in May 2016.
In addition, the album debuted atop several other Billboard charts, including Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums and Top Album Sales.

In November 2016, at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards, Beyoncé performed “Daddy Lessons,” her first explicit foray into country music. On the emotionally intimate, vervy album Lemonade, the song felt inspired by the singer’s Southern origins. Onstage, accompanied by The Chicks and a band wielding the full power of acoustic guitars, horns and harmonicas, it became a full-throated declaration — an affirmation of all that came with Beyoncé’s roots in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.
The backlash to her performance was swift and predictably racist. In a recording of that moment, the camera quickly cuts away from parts of the audience largely unmoved by Beyoncé’s enthusiastic invitation to clap along. On social media, detractors expressed their anger at the musician’s inclusion. A month later, the Recording Academy rejected “Daddy Lessons” as a country entry for the Grammys, setting the stage for a contentious battle about who and...

Singer-songwriter Beyonce has shared that she was inspired by Grammy-winning artiste Jack White for her country album, ‘Cowboy Carter’. The album marks her foray into the country music genre.
Queen Bey sent Jack some flowers to let him know about his influence on the album, and expressed her gratitude to the musician for serving as an inspiration, reports ‘Female First UK’.
However, the two didn’t work together on the collection but the former White Stripes star influenced the ‘Single Ladies’ hitmaker.
She wrote on the note, “Jack, I hope you are well. I just wanted you to know how much you inspired me on this record. Sending you my love, Beyonce.”
As per ‘Female First UK’, the 48-year-old musician gushed over the “gracious” ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ hitmaker and hailed her music “beautiful and powerful”.

Like many I’m sure, I listened to Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” the weekend of its release. But as an awards watcher, I’m left to ponder, where exactly is this thing supposed to go at the Grammys? Is it country? Americana? Pop? Progressive R&b? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

The album is called “Cowboy Carter,” and its cover art features her atop a horse sporting a cowboy hat, but those signifiers may be slightly misleading. They make it seem like Beyonce is just aping country music, and the lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em” might also lead you to that conclusion because it’s as straight-up country as this album gets. But apart from that and a reimagining of “Jolene,” plus a couple of Willie Nelson interludes, this isn’t so much a “country...

Once considered one of the power couples in Hollywood, Beyoncé and Jay-Z now find their relationship entangled in complexities, overshadowed by persistent cheating rumors and the hip-hop mogul’s public admission of infidelity.
While the two have continued to be together, their dynamic has once again become a topic of conversation, boosted by the singer’s cover of Dolly Parton’s Jolene under her new album Cowboy Carter.

Beyoncé’s surprise album drop, Cowboy Carter, has sent shockwaves through the music industry. Although labeled as a country album, Cowboy Carter defies genre boundaries and not just sticking to one type of music. It mixes in bits of gospel, blues, funk, and rock, showing off Beyoncé’s amazing singing skills.

She ain’t sorry!
On Friday, Beyoncé released her album Cowboy Carter, which features a modern reimagining of Dolly Parton’s classic “Jolene” and an interlude from Miss Parton herself. Track nine hears an introduction to the song by Dolly. “You know that hussy with the good hair you sing about?” she asks. “Reminded me of someone I knew back when, except she has flaming locks of auburn hair.

The mysterious Becky with the Good Hair has entered the chat again with the release of Beyonce‘s new album Cowboy Carter.
If you were unaware, Becky is an infamous and mysterious character that Beyonce first sang about on her 2016 album Lemonade. At the time, it was largely believed that she was a reference to a woman that Jay-Z had an affair with.
Eight years later, Dolly Parton referenced Becky on “Dolly P,” an interlude that she recorded for Beyonce‘s new album to introduce her cover of “Jolene.”
“You know that hussy with the good hair you sing about? Reminded me of someone I knew back when. Except she has flamin’ locks of auburn hair,” Dolly said. “Bless her heart. Just a hair of a different color, but it hurts just the same.”
After Dolly brought her up again, you might be wondering about the full story behind Becky.

For years, Dolly Parton has advocated for Beyoncé to cover “Jolene,” and her wish has finally come true. With her new country album, Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé tackled the classic song and featured Parton herself on an interlude ahead of the cover. Beyoncé’s take on “Jolene” is a bit different from Parton’s 1973 version. Here’s how she updated the song’s lyrics.
Beyoncé altered the lyrics to Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ on ‘Cowboy Carter’
On “Dolly P,” an interlude on Cowboy Carter, Parton gives a message to Beyoncé.

Beyonce‘s career breakthrough came in the 1990s as a teenage member of Destiny’s Child. But since then she has established herself as one of the biggest music stars of the 21st century. So naturally it’s challenging to narrow down the greatest hits of her career … not that we let that stop us from trying, though. Scroll down for our countdown of her best songs — including “Countdown”! Do you agree with how we rank them?
Destiny’s Child had several hits including “Survivor” and “Bills, Bills, Bills,” but it was “Say My Name” that earned Beyonce her first Grammys when she was only 19: Best R&b Duo/Group Performance and Best R&b Song. She has since become one of the most awarded individuals in Grammy history, the most awarded woman in history, and the most nominated woman in history. But most of the top categories have eluded her.

So many Beyoncé songs have changed the world — and one in particular changed Rihanna’s world. When the “Sos” singer was still part of a girl group, she auditioned for a producer by singing a song by Queen B. The producer in question went on to write two of Rihanna’s biggest early hits.

I throw around the concept of “Grammy darlings” a lot, but what exactly constitutes a Grammy darling? Is it just an artist who doesn’t lose Grammys often, like U2, Adele or Bruno Mars? Let’s go through a few top names.
Beyoncé: Darling
Listen, the most awarded person in Grammy history is definitely a darling. Granted, she has yet to win Album of the Year. However, more impressively, all of her projects have won at least one Grammy. Most have won multiple, including “Dangerously in Love,” “Lemonade,” and “Renaissance.” Beyoncé also gets nominations for pretty much anything she submits, and will likely become the first artist to nab nominations in rap, rock, R&b, dance, pop and country. On top of all that, it’s rare for Beyoncé to miss nominations in the general field, especially with no nominations review committees anymore to potentially force her out.

Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo plays a recurring role as a beacon of escapism in The Program, Netflix’s three-part true-crime documentary, as imprisoned teens struggle to experience any modicum of individuality in a prison-like rehab center. “All human wisdom is contained in these two words – Wait and Hope,” is a moving quote from Dumas’ novel and it’s hard to not transpose this intense message onto the tortured victims of Ivy Ridge Academy as they fight for survival.
The Program unpacks the global epidemic of behavior modification programs that masquerade as boarding schools where parents willingly send their children to these hard-knock rehab centers. This in itself is a refreshing change of pace...

Beyoncé and her latest single “Texas Hold ‘Em” have made their country chart debut on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, the publication announced on Friday. The track marks Beyoncé’s debut on that chart more than two decades into her career. The Country Airplay chart accounts exclusively for radio play.
As soon as Beyoncé released the country-influenced “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” on Super Bowl Sunday, a significant question became how the country music industry would embrace the tracks, particularly given the genre’s own history of ignoring Black artists in the past,...

[Editor’s note: This following article spoils the ending of “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story.” We promise you, this doesn’t matter.]
For Ben Affleck fans who thought his small role as Phil Knight in “Air” just needed to be a little Bigger, Prime Video has a film for you.
And yet, “film” isn’t exactly the right word. The 65-minute “narrative-driven cinematic odyssey” (press release’s words) for Jennifer Lopez’s wannabe-“Lemonade,” “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story,” follows her search for love, set alongside music videos for several songs off her new album of the same name (also out today!). It’s a bombastic, simplistic misfire.
Opening with a Puerto Rican myth about roses and hummingbirds, viewers are treated to J.Lo working in a steampunk love factory (complete with a giant mechanical heart about to explode!) and a fictionalized-but-clearly-autobiographical tale about realizing she’s a love addict. She’s searching for love in several doomed marriages, before learning the person she really needs to love is…herself.

Reneé Rapp showed Paris how excited she is for Beyoncé’s country era on Tuesday by performing “Daddy Lessons,” Bey’s country song off of Lemonade, at L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix.
The crowd instantly recognized the song’s acoustic guitar boogie, hollering and singing along as Rapp crooned the opening lyrics: “Came into this world Daddy’s little girl/And Daddy made a soldier out of me.” She swiveled her body to the rhythm and leaned into the mic for some of the tune’s most soulful notes. Robert Randolph was tooling around Florida when the call came. The musician, whose sacred steel slide guitar has powered his own Family Band albums and has popped up on records by Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Thomas, Santana, and Dave Matthews Band, was behind the wheel when his office phoned to tell him that Beyoncé wanted him to record with her.
“I said, ‘Record what — you sure you have the right person?’” Randolph recalls, noting his own jam-band style. “I’m the kind who plays and plays and plays on.

Beyoncé sent her fans a shocker on Super Bowl Sunday, using a Verizon ad to announce “Renaissance Act II” and drop two brand-new country songs. But members of the BeyHive with a penchant for half-hour comedies got a two-for-one deal, as the pop star appeared in the commercial opposite an unexpected partner: “Veep” and “Arrested Development” star Tony Hale.
Hale has spent years of his career playing awkward, offbeat beta males overshadowed by powerful women: “It’s a forte of mine,” he says, reflecting on what his newest collaborator may have in common with Lucille Bluth and Selina Meyer. He felt at home at Yoncé’s side, though, he isn’t totally sure how much she knew about him in return. “We really didn’t have much time to chat,” he laughs. “I didn’t ask her, ‘Have you seen my work?'”

Taylor Swift announced her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” when she won Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys. But Beyonce was like, “Hold my beer,” and revealed during the Super Bowl that she would be dropping new music. Beyonce’s “Act II,” her follow-up to “Renaissance,” is slated for March 29, after which “Tortured Poets” comes on April 19. Perhaps surprisingly, that makes this the first time in 15 years that the two superstars will have competing eras at the Grammys. Will Swift win Album of the Year for the fifth time, or will Beyonce finally win for the first time? Or might they both be overtaken by another artist?
Of course, I must preface this by saying that neither album is out yet, so whether they’ll even be any good has yet to be determined. But considering their creative and commercial consistency over the years, let’s for the...

Beyoncé may have just finished her Renaissance world tour in October, but she isn’t interested in taking an extended break from music — the singer announced a new album during the Super Bowl on Sunday. The album was announced during a commercial with Verizon, where Beyoncé did her best to break the internet. After a string of humorously failed attempts, she ended the clip with “Drop the music.”
And just moments later on Instagram, Beyoncé confirmed her eighth studio album, Act II, is due March 29. The LP serves as the...

“I can’t believe we’re winning a Grammy, ladies!” said Beyonce to Destiny’s other children Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland when the trio accepted Best R&b Duo/Group Performance for their single “Say My Name.” Beyonce was only 19-years-old at the time. Little did she know that she’d collect another 31 trophies over the course of her career, making her the most decorated artist in Grammy history. Watch their acceptance speech from 2001 above.
Queen Bey won three Grammys with Destiny’s Child overall. In addition to this prize, they collected Best R&b Song for “Say My Name,” and in 2002 they won Best R&b Duo/Group Performance again for “Survivor.” Not long after that Beyonce struck out on her own, and her star rose higher than anyone probably would have guessed from watching that unassuming teenager up on that stage with trophy number-one.

This year, Parkwood Entertainment is following up the culture-shifting Netflix release with Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, which similarly enshrines the global tour she completed in support of her seventh studio album. “In this world that is very male-dominated, I’ve had to be really tough,...

Fans think that Ali Krieger is implying that her estranged wife Ashlyn Harris cheated on her with new flame Sophia Bush.
Ali took to her Instagram account on Thursday (October 19) and posted about being in her “Beyonce lemonade era.”

An Oscar ceremony with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift? What television producer wouldn’t want two of the biggest names in entertainment gracing the red carpet for the 96th Academy Awards? Jay-Z had a unique proposal in mind for his wife Beyoncé. In an interview she did with Essence (via MTV News), the singer shared that he wasn’t a fan of getting a traditional engagement ring.
“It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me,” she said.

Sometimes, you really should be careful what you wish for. Bookshelves all across the world are full of fairytales that have warned countless children about the dangers of sticking their nose in places they don't belong and messing with powers far beyond their understanding, but these stories typically contort themselves to wrap things up with a happy ending. But what about when adults are the ones in need of a little lesson of their own? The original Grimms' Fairy Tales took a much darker and more disturbing approach, melding fantasy with outright horror to get their point across. Well, welcome to the much more modern take on fairytales for grownups.
