The title One Hand Clapping, taken from a Japanese kōan, tells you nearly everything you need to know about Paul McCartney and Wings’ 1974 Abbey Road sessions: These performances are an event rarely seen and heard even less often. For years, you’ve had to imagine what didn’t leak out from the studio as bootlegs for yourself. Those who do know these session know them as greasy VHS transfers to YouTube and bonus tracks to Band on the Run and Venus and Mars reissues. In the past, McCartney fans would...

Diljit Dosanjh Plays Amar Singh Chamkila In His Biopic Directed By Imtiaz Ali ( Photo Credit – YouTube; Instagram )
Amar Singh Chamkila is a name that might have been alien a few weeks back but is now known to most of us, thanks to Imtiaz Ali, who directed a biopic of the late Punjabi singer. Diljit Dosanjh played Chamkila in the film, and Parineeti Chopra played his wife.
Now, for the unversed, Chamkila was criticized a lot for his outrageous lyrics that involved commentaries about illicit relationships, objectifying women, and talking about their fantasies in general.
Some of the most lewd songs by Amar Singh Chamkila talked about women in particular and their assets suggestively. A couplet in the song Baapu saada Gum ho gaya says, “Teri maa di talashi lehni ni bapu sada gum ho gaya.”

The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most beloved, and critically acclaimed, films of all time. On top of having an excellent cast; including Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, Clancy Brown, and Bob Gunton, it was also directed by Frank Darabont, who is best known for his work in The Walking Dead.
Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in a still from The Shawshank Redemption
Even though the film is a thriller, it almost has a lighthearted essence to it, which makes audiences love it all the more. It has an excellent approach to storytelling, showing the worst sides of humanity being overshadowed by a glimmer of hope. All of these aspects have helped the film become the highest-rated film on IMDb, holding a score of 9.3.
Despite this, the film had a very poor run at the box office when it was initially released. It would seem that Robbins has a theory about why this happened.

A new anime adaptation of Berserk is something that fans have always wanted, and that is not something new. This is because the legendary manga by Kentaro Miura has never truly got what it deserved in the form of anime.
Although the 1997 anime adaptation of the story under the studio named Olm Team Iguchi, did the best they could with the available resources they had, however, the difficult journey of our main character, Guts, his quest for revenge, and his search for peace of mind, were something that has never been fully explored in the anime.
Guts in Berserk
The frustration felt by the fans of Berserk over the lack of a proper anime adaptation of the manga reached a point where they are taking matters into their own hands.

Below Deck viewers are not here for The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin and her entitled behavior.
Jill made her debut on the most recent episode of Below Deck as a guest of the primaries, Noah and Melinda.
However, watching the show, one would have thought Jill was the primary with her obnoxious treatment of the crew, especially Chef Anthony Iracane.
Captain Kerry Titheradge said it best — Jill was forcing the crew to focus on her needs instead of the primary.
There are so many cringe Jill moments on Below Deck that X (formerly Twitter) has been in a frenzy blasting the former Rhony star.
It’s safe to say that most people watching the hit yachting show last night were not Jill fans.

Definitely a treat of completists, “Yellow Door: '90s Lo-fi Film Club” starts by mentioning Bong Joon-ho's previously unknown first film, a stop-motion animated short titled “Looking for Paradise” that he made in his home basement in 1992, before it dwells in the history of the particular club, which, apart from Bong, also had Choi Jong-tae translation of English books about cinema, being among the most interesting and entertaining aspects of the narrative.
Bong Joon-ho emerges as the protagonist, with him having the most screening time, while the occasionally contradictory testaments about the past, by the people participating in the documentary, induce the film with the “Rashomon” effect, as Bong himself mentions at some point. The changing of offices, the actual yellow door, the upscaling of the club, and Bong's proceedings during his time there take a large part of the documentary. Lastly, the current lives of the people talking...

“I like the stock.”
If only the world of high finance could accept things as simply as that.
As we learned in 2021, the so-called masters of the universe had written off GameStop, the venerable supply of used video games and assorted tech gear. The only one, it seemed, who still believed in them was Keith Gill, who live-blogged as Roaring Kitty. With incredible transparency, he shared his spreadsheets and showed his faith by buying up shares, which encouraged others to follow suit.

Netflix is looking for ways to expand the universe of hit drama Wednesday, which reportedly involves developing a spin-off featuring Uncle Fester.
The Addams Family has been a perennial presence on the big and small screen since Charles Addams’ comics were adapted into the original television show in 1964.
Since then, there have been reunion television films and animated series, but the franchise arguably hit its peak in the 1990s with the release of feature films The Addams Family and it’s arguably even better sequel Addams Family Values.
Very few people talk about Addams Family Reunion which, although it features a scenery chewing turn from Tim Curry, failed to make an impact, much like The New Addams Family, the television series which followed soon after, which is only really worth watching for the episode where John Astin, the original Gomez, returns as Grandpapa Addams.

Katy Kirby has announced her sophomore album Blue Raspberry, out January 26th, 2024 via Anti-. The announcement arrives with the record’s latest single “Table,” as well as a new run of 2024 tour dates to celebrate its release.
Blue Raspberry largely documents Kirby’s process of recognizing her own queerness, and the subsequent, bittersweet ache of her first queer relationship. “This record is much more personal than I intended it to be,” Kirby said in a press release. “I was in a period of experimenting with how I write, and what came out was a song about a woman, about an imagined her — I didn’t think I was writing as or about myself, but these kinds of songs kept coming out, with fragments of overlapping lyrics linking them together like beads on a string. Lady Gaga returned to Las Vegas Thursday night to resume her “Lady Gaga: Jazz & Piano” residency, where she honoured her late friend, Tony Bennett.
The show, which includes classic jazz songs and stripped-down renditions of Gaga’s hits, marked the superstar’s first concert since Bennett, her frequent collaborator and mentor, died in late July. With that being said, Gaga paid a special tribute to the jazz icon.
In footage captured by attendees, the Grammy-winner, 37, gave a shoutout to Bennett’s wife, Susan Benedetto, who was reportedly in the audience, before dedicating a song to her.
“Susan, everybody in this audience loves you so much,” Gaga began. “The truth is I didn’t know exactly what to say about Tony because this whole show was for Tony, everything. The opening number, the middle numbers, all the diamonds, all the musical instruments, all the conducting, all the improvisation was in his memory.

The "Transformers" movies are filled with questionable choices, but bringing Peter Cullen back to voice Optimus Prime is not one of them. Reprising the role for the first time since the 1980s, Cullen became the voice of Prime for Millennials and Zoomers, just as he had been for the Gen Xers who watched the original cartoon as children.
In the lead-up to the first movie's release, Paramount Pictures held the online contest "Make Prime Speak" (hosted on www.transformersmovie.com). From October 2-23, 2006, entrants could submit a piece of dialogue (120 characters or less) that they wanted to hear Optimus Prime say in the then-upcoming movie. Per contest rules, Peter Cullen would recite the winning line in his John Wayne-esque baritone.
The line ultimately chosen was "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." This was Prime's motto, according to his original toy bio, but Cullen never said it before.

When news broke that Kim Kardashian would be joining season 12 of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's anthology series "American Horror Story," her part in the new season was left vague. The initial casting announcement involved a teaser posted to Kardashian's Instagram that featured a creepy version of "Rock-a-Bye Baby" and the caption "Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate." Since then, Cara Delevigne has also joined the project, and while the new teaser doesn't exactly tell us much more about this season's plot, it does give us a first look at the new cast in full spooky regalia.
The promo starts with a circle of twelve women with long, white hair and dresses to match doing some sort of dance or ritual. It's clear that the new season will follow some of the same plot threads that have piqued Murphy's interest before, as there's a distinctly witchy, cultish vibe to the 42-second teaser.

Generationally wealthy royals: they're just like us!
Queen Elizabeth II's favorite movie was reportedly Mike Hodges' gloriously campy "Flash Gordon." Her son, King Charles, is apparently a fan of morose singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen. When Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud isn't ordering the mutilation of journalists, he evidently enjoys pro wrestling.
Entertainment is essential. It's what gets us through the drudgery of day-to-day life, and even the most monstrous people who've ever existed require this escapist outlet. Adolf Hitler was a cinephile. So was Joseph Stalin. Donald Trump reportedly loves Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Evita."
King Abdullah II of Jordan is no exception. In 2002, the first child of King Hussein visited Hollywood, and, keen on meeting Steven Spielberg, visited the set of "Catch Me If You Can." He was also a fan of "Shrek," which prompted Jeffrey Katzenberg to give Abdullah II a tour of DreamWorks Animation...

There will be spoilers for "Star Wars: The High Republic: Cataclysm" by Lydia Kang.
"Star Wars: Cataclysm" is the latest installment of the second wave of the "High Republic," and the flagship title to advance the story into its next step. Phase two of "The High Republic" is set 150 years before the events of the first phase and sets the technology and events of the galaxy back to a more primitive level. Communications are difficult, and the ever-expanding galaxy is harder and harder to govern for the Republic. In the first part of phase two, we were introduced to the twin planets of Eiram and E'ronoh, which were locked in a long, protracted war. The Republic and the Jedi wanted to unite these two and cease the hostilities. They came to a tentative agreement and vowed to sign a peace treaty together on Jedha. Unfortunately, the signing of that treaty...

Out with the old, in with the new. That's the case with Marvel's long-awaited "Fantastic Four" movie reboot, as the project has added a new writer — and that new writer is Josh Friedman. This update comes from the folks at The Hollywood Reporter, who bring word that the "Avatar: The Way of Water" writer has boarded the project, which is due to be directed by Matt Shakman ("WandaVision"). Whether or not this change is for the better or for the worse is almost impossible to say at the moment, but it does indicate Marvel Studios is headed in a different direction than previously planned.
Prior to the hiring of Friedman, duo Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer had been tapped to reboot Marvel's first family for the big screen. Kaplan and Springer lean more into the comedic side of things, with upcoming projects such as "Disaster Wedding" and "K-Pop: Lost in America" on their resumes.

(Welcome to Best Action Scene Ever, a column dedicated to breaking down the best, most effective action sequences throughout the genre. In this edition, we give some love to the first and, yes, the best of the battles staged in HBO's "Game of Thrones.")
We've somehow made it through nine editions of this column before expanding to include television, a medium that has grown exponentially in the last few decades to tell big-budget stories through a startlingly cinematic lens. As much as the previous era of "Prestige TV" helped pave the way for television shows to be taken much more seriously, it wasn't until "Game of Thrones" that global audiences could truly grasp what that meant. In its latter days, the flagship HBO series became known for ramping up the existential threat of its White Walker plotline, pouring millions of dollars of resources into staging blockbuster-sized set pieces with utterly convincing dragon VFX,...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including Ted Lasso, Grey’s Anatomy, Magnum P.I. and The Mandalorian!
1 | What was the silliest part of last week’s Fire Country: The over-the-top, Leone-taunting Knox character, or firefighter Vince negotiating a prison gang war truce (with “the worst of the worst,” no less)? And did it take you a sec to recognize Tahmoh Penikett beneath Knox’s soot and stubble?
