- The Japanese VHS features an alternate ending, containing an extended scene with Germaine, and a surprise appearance by Farnsworth at the very end, but also misses the entire stop-motion fight sequence on the plane, even though the sequence with an (inexplicably) badly injured Alex in Einstein's lab is intact.
- In some versions of the film in different countries, Alex Rain is the narrator.
- The Japanese VHS also features some alternate takes that weren't featured in the U.S. theatrical cut.
- German TV-Version and Retail-Video are cut for violence, while the Rental-Video is uncut and Widescreen.
- Japanese laser disc is 97 mins and unrated and uncut with extra violence.
- There are two versions released on video in the US. The regular cut and the Director's Cut. The Director's cut has more violence and additional scenes.
