The Stig is the name of the mysterious test driver on
Top Gear (2002). Dressed in white from head to toe, The Stig coaches celebrities in high speed driving and evaluates the performance of a huge variety of cars; sets times around the Top Gear Circuit; and goes on missions around the globe. Ben Collins took on the role of The Stig in 2002, choreographing the Top Gear Live stunt shows as well as coordinating the high octane car chases featured on the TV show. He remained in that role until 2010 when he formally resigned after his identity became widely known on the internet, publishing his autobiography, "The Man in The White Suit", that became an international bestseller later that year.
