Exclusive: Most times Deadline has done in-depth interviews with Quentin Tarantino, the occasion has been a hot-button moment that begged for clarity. Like the time he (temporarily) scrapped The Hateful Eight out of frustration that a rep among the small handful of actors he showed the script leaked that first draft, or when Tarantino gave Uma Thurman footage of a regrettable scene gone wrong in which she crashed and was injured in a car, only to get painted the villain in a New York Times write-up. The occasion today is his new film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, a ’60s-set picture he calls his love letter to Los Angeles, an exploration of a moment when the business made Westerns and the actors in them obsolete as the auteur ’70s took hold. It was also a loss of innocence moment with the spree of barbaric murders perpetrated at the direction of Charles Manson.

Amanda Seyfried, who will soon appear in the 24 Hour Plays project with her boyfriend Justin Long, brought her beloved dog Finn out on a jog Thursday.
Amanda Seyfriend & Dog Finn
Seyfried, 28, headed out with Finn for a jog in Los Angeles. The Ted 2 actress dressed for the workout in a pair of short black running shorts, a Wakeman basketball t-shirt and running sneakers. Multitasking, Seyfried held onto Finn’s leash and a water bottle in one hand while listening to music.
Though Seyfried has been spending a lot of time on the East Coast lately while filming Ted 2, she’s managed to keep her faithful dog at her side. Earlier this month, Seyfried shared a picture on Instagram of Finn posing with the stuffed animal star of the movie.

San Diego County Sheriff's officials say James Lee Dimaggio, suspected of abducting 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, has been killed in Idaho and the teen has been found safe. A massive search entered a sixth day Friday for a man suspected of abducting a 16-year-old family friend as police warned he may have abandoned his car while on the run and rigged it with explosives. James Lee Dimaggio, 40, may have had an "unusual infatuation" with the missing girl, Hannah Anderson, said San Diego County Sheriff's Capt. Duncan Fraser. "That is kind of a working theory, that it may be something of a motivator," Fraser said Thursday. On Sunday night, authorities found the body of Hannah's mother - 44-year-old Christina Anderson - when they extinguished flames at Dimaggio's rural home.
