Masashi Kishimoto, the mastermind behind Naruto, made it to the list of top mangakas. But not everyone does, and a majority of wannabe writers fail to reach their goal.
Creating a unique and interesting story, dividing it into individually interesting chapters, and completing it with detailed artwork isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Doing all these things within a strict deadline on a daily basis is a herculean task.
Thus, if you are interested in the manga creating process, it would do you good to pay heed to Kishimoto’s words.

Tsugumi Ohba’s Death Note is one of the best anime and manga series of all time because of the questions that it raises for fans and for its characters. The question is: what is right and what is wrong? While the story portrayed different shades of good and evil, the one thing that remained constant in the series was death.
Ryuk and Light in Death Note | Madhouse Studios
From petty criminals to the one who almost became God (Kira or Light Yagami), every character had to be the victim of death, and no matter if you were righteous or evil, death was going to come one day. This aspect of the story became the central theme of the series, as Ohba set it as one of the most important rules that was never meant to be broken.

Well, look at that, we’re up to my lucky number thirteenth Archie’s House of Horrors. And I can’t imagine a better title to celebrate that milestone than Archie Comics: Judgment Day. After all, who doesn’t love talking about the end of the world?

Every day the world throws a new curveball at us and gives us stark reminders that life on planet Earth is not infinite.

Masashi Kishimoto is one of the pillars of the manga and anime industry. His magnum opus paved the way for the next generation of mangaka to connect to Western countries. He had worked hard to reach the heights of success with Naruto and inspired many people through his creation. A mangaka has to go through several obstacles to get the results they are looking for.
One such anime that depicts the entire journey of a mangaka is Bakuman. Bakuman is created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. From dreaming to becoming a mangaka to finally achieving that dream is entirely depicted in the anime. Even though most of the scenarios were correct, Masashi Kishimoto felt that one aspect was not accurate at all.

When Netflix released Blood of Zeus in 2020, it changed the entire interpretation of Greek mythology in the anime world. The show is created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for Netflix, who are known for the Death Note live-action adaptation and the 2011 Immortals, starring Henry Cavill. They even targeted gigantic media franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe and called their rendition of portraying Greek culture “Greek Mythology with costumes.”

Death Note fans have always debated the role of Light Yagami as a protagonist in the series. Some fans believe that his actions by the end of the series make him an antagonist, while others believe that he was still a good guy, but he got astray from his path and went on a killing spree to save himself, developing a God complex.

The creator of the series, Tsugumi Ohba, also thinks the same. In an interview, Ohba revealed that he refused to let Light Yagami become the bad guy, which is why the entire blame was put on Mikami for making a mistake. This way, even if Light became the villain of his own story, the blame would still land on Mikami rather than Light.

"Futurama" is no stranger to out-there stories, but sometimes, even this show needs an excuse to break the rules. That's where the anthology episodes come in: installments featuring three seven-or-so-minute-long themed segments where the status quo of the show doesn't apply.
"Futurama" inherited this formula from co-creator Matt Groening's previous series, "The Simpsons." However, "The Simpsons" developed a consistent formula for its anthology episodes: "Treehouse of Horror," where the Simpsons family (and friends) are put through parodies of horror/sci-fi stories (from "The Twilight Zone" to "Death Note"). "Treehouse of Horror" has been an annual "Simpsons" tradition since season 2, but the series isn't constrained by this. A handful of "Simpsons" episodes are anthologies of a different flavor (see "Simpsons Bible Stories" in season 10 or "Tales from the Public Domain" in season 13).
"Futurama," though? The sci-fi show doesn't have an equivalent tradition, perhaps as part of the show's efforts to not compete with "The Simpsons.

Tsugumi Ohba, the creator of the popular manga and anime series Death Note and Bakuman, is a legend in the manga world. Ohba’s work has inspired many other manga artists, and Death Note, his first manga, which he co-created with illustrator Takeshi Obata, is considered by many to be one of the best works in the history of entertainment.
Death Note Anime
After the success of Death Note, Ohba collaborated once again with Obata to create Bakuman. The series instantly became a hit in the manga world because it was a story about two boys who were trying to become manga artists. The series explains their journey, and it even has some real-world inspiration from the Weekly Shonen Jump.
Although Bakuman is considered one of Ohba’s best works, he once revealed in an interview that he initially hated one aspect of the series and could not do anything about it.

In the world of anime, there are childhood classics like Pokémon, Dragon Ball, and Naruto, and then there’s Death Note. Ever since the anime premiered in 2006, it solidified its status as a cultural icon, earning itself the honorable Animation of the Year award in 2007. The series stands apart from the other series in the Shonen genre because it does not rely on fast-paced action sequences to keep its audience hooked. Instead, it features a tug-of-war psychological warfare between Light Yagami and L.

Anime’s popularity can be attributed to a number of factors, including its diverse genres, unique storytelling methods, and its unique art style. But what makes anime more interesting is how they include raw violence to add an extra layer of intensity and realism to their plot. Nowadays, anime studios are censoring themselves as they are making anime following Western standards.

Ranker is a popular place on the Internet where people can rank whatever they want, however, they want, and whenever they want. This is always a fan-focused ranking system and it is never officially tied to the people behind the projects in question. Recently, a large survey was organized on the site with the following description:
If you grew up reading manga, you probably have some copies of Shonen Jump laying around your house. That being said, what is the best Shonen Jump anime of all time? Some of the most famous anime of all time was once published in Shonen Jump, such as One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, and so many more massive shows. Shonen Jump anime series are usually long running, with shows like One Piece running close to 1,000 episodes at this point. The next installment in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse was released earlier this week on March 29. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a sequel to 2021’s Godzilla Vs. Kong and sees the titular monsters team up to fight a bigger Titan who threatens to destroy the world. The film received mixed responses from critics and seemed to have a good opening weekend.
Director Adam Wingard returned to helm the project after the success of the previous film. Along with other cast members such as Rebecca Hall and Bryan Tyree Henry, deaf actress Kaylee Hottle also reprised her role as Jia. Wingard mentioned how he managed to create a complicated system to give cues to the star as the performance involved many reaction shots for the monsters.

Godzilla vs. Kong – the fifth film in the Monsterverse franchise – stumbles into cinemas with all the grace of a giant lizard battling an oversized ape, and sadly, it never quite finds its footing.
Directed by Death Note and Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire sees the return of Rebecca Hall as Monarch anthropological linguist, and Kaylee Hottle as her adoptive daughter Jia. Also back for another slice of Kaiju mayhem is Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, a Cybernetics technician turned conspiracy theorist and podcaster.
Kong, accompanied by his guardians, embarks on a treacherous quest to uncover his ancestral homeland. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they cross paths with a rampaging Godzilla, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.

Adam Wingard wanted to limit the human cast's screen time in 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire'.The 41-year-old director has helmed the new monster movie and was determined to minimise the human involvement in the picture so the appropriate focus was placed on the two towering beasts.Adam told The Hollywood Reporter: "In the development phase, my motto was, ‘Simplicity is key.’ And so I knew that if we created a smaller cast, we could create a more intimate story."We can still spend time with [the human characters], and at the same time, we can spend more time with the monsters and not shortchange one or the other."Godzilla hibernates in Rome's historic Colosseum during the movie and Wingard revealed that an unlikely feline source of creativity helped him come up with the idea. The 'Death Note' filmmaker explained: "My cat, Mischief, is my biggest inspiration in life,...

Well, it's official — Netflix's live-action remake of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" paid off (for the company at least). Avatar Aang (Gordon Cormier) will get to continue mastering the elements, now that "Avatar" has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.
"Avatar" is just the latest anime that Netflix has brought to live-action. On this spectrum, "Avatar" falls below the well-received "One Piece" remake but ahead of the swiftly-canned live-action "Cowboy Bebop" (that even original series creator Shinichirō Watanabe couldn't finish).
Netflix hasn't stopped there. The streamer is letting "Stranger Things" creators the Duffer Brothers take a crack at "Death Note" and has had a live-action "Gundam" movie in development since 2021. Other studios are getting into anime properties as well: Lionsgate has recruited "Shang-Chi" director Destin Daniel Cretton to adapt "Naruto" into a live-action movie.

Dan Lin, the producer behind the Lego movies and the new live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, has been tapped as the new head of film for Netflix, according to sources.
Lin steps into the role vacated by Scott Stuber, who announced in January he would step down in March.
Lin’s name had been in the mix since the early days of the headhunting, along with former Disney executive Sean Bailey and Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey, among a handful of others. Bailey seemed like the choice until he wasn’t, with the Feb. 26 shake-up at Disney resulting in his departure after a 15-year run at the Burbank-based studio.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender premieres on Thursday, Feb. 22 and it’s not been regarded as a good adaptation of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender debuted on Nickelodeon in 2005 and ran for three seasons, ending in 2008. Author Django Wexler’s novel How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying – which has been described as “Groundhog Day meets Guardians of the Galaxy” – won’t be reaching store shelves until May 21st (you can pre-order a copy at This Link), but Deadline reports that Legendary has already come out the winner in a bidding war over the adaptation rights. A TV series adaptation is now in development, with Legendary’s Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard heading up the project and producing with his manager Jeremy Platt.
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying is said to be a “laugh-out-loud fantasy tale about a young woman who, tired of defending humanity from the Dark Lord, decides to become the Dark Lord herself.” Here’s the book’s description: Davi has done this all before. Although it is not very typical for a protagonist in anime to pass away, there are a number of anime series where the protagonist’s demise plays a major role in the plot. The most significant event in the program is nearly usually the death of the main character, whether it’s through dealing a severe emotional blow or advancing the plot by giving the reins to a new character.
Even though some of them might live again in the future, their deaths had a profound effect on everyone in their immediate vicinity. The protagonist’s death doesn’t always mean the series is going to end. It just hands over the reign to someone who is either related to the character or becomes more significant to the series.

Anime grows more popular with each passing year, yet an endless debate in the community still argues the merits of “subs vs. dubs.” Among some, dubbed anime continues to be viewed as a concession or a way to lure mainstream international audiences into the Japanese medium. It’s always a good idea to experience something in its original language, but dubbing has also proven itself to be its own artform that has the power to complement and improve upon the original series.
Certain anime dubs, such as Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and My Hero Academia, have won over fans and are viewed as equals to their original subtitled versions. However, the anime dubbing industry has made tremendous strides over the past decade and Attack on Titan has become the crowning achievement of what’s possible when inspired dubbing meets groundbreaking storytelling. Animator Vincent Chansard, who is popular for his work on One Piece anime and the recent Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, had revealed that he won’t be working with Mappa studio again owing to their poor working conditions.
However, veteran animation director Mamoru Yokota, who has worked on Death Note, Dragon Quest and even One Piece among other series, was skeptical of the “overseas animator’s” claims about the working conditions, and pointed out a number of things about the situation.

In his first post made on Jan 10, 2024, Yokota said that the animation studio can only be blamed if animators were paid less than what was agreed upon initially, or if the project was delayed or cancelled. If a contract breach had not occurred, then the responsibility for poor scheduling falls on other staff members including the director and even the production staff/committee.

Netflix’s adaptation of One Piece into a live-action series last summer wasn’t just a hit – it topped the charts as the most in-demand show of 2023. The pressure was immense, given the massive popularity of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga and its anime version. But Netflix’s series didn’t just meet expectations; it soared past them, quickly becoming a streaming sensation.
Since its debut, One Piece has been a juggernaut on Netflix, even securing a second season thanks to its overwhelming success. According to Parrot Analytics and The Wrap, the series’ demand was 52.8 times higher than many other streaming shows in the first 30 days of its US release. And the hype hasn’t died down; people are still talking about it!
This isn’t just a flash in the pan. One Piece’s live-action series not only leads the pack in Netflix’s streaming charts but also outshines other popular 2023 releases.
