Maxine F*cking Minx has come to Hollywood, and she's determined to become the biggest star in Tinsel Town... by any means necessary.
The final film in Ti West's X trilogy, MaXXXine, is set to hit theaters exactly one month from today, and A24 has released a second full trailer spotlighting plenty of blood-soaked new footage.
In the first movie, X, Mia Goth's Maxine turned out to be the sole survivor of a crazed old woman's (also played by Goth) murderous rampage, and played a younger version of that character in recent prequel film, Pearl. In MaXXXine, the more determined-than-ever Miss Minx travels to LA with dreams of stardom, while a vicious serial killer known as the Night Stalker haunts the streets.
Here, we see more from supporting characters played by Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, and Kevin Bacon, along with some flashes of the murderer's brutal rampage.

Ti West's wildly enjoyable horror trilogy that began with "X" and continued with "Pearl" comes to a close with "MaXXXine," a bloody story set in 1980s Hollywood. When we last saw porn star Maxine Minx in "X," she had just survived a massacre that killed off the entire crew of the adult film she was starring in in 1979. Now it's the '80s, and Maxine hasn't given up her dreams of becoming a genuine movie star. But can she escape her dark past and deal with new malevolent forces, including a serial killer? We'll find out when "MaXXXine" arrives this July. For now, though, we have a stylish new trailer for the horror sequel. Watch it above.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding the release of “MaXXXine.” This is because the first two films in the trilogy, “X” and “Pearl,” were massive hits, both financially and critically. And honestly, it’s pretty rare for a horror film to delight both genre fans and critics. Needless to say, there are a lot of folks who are wondering if “MaXXXine” can end the trilogy on a high note.

The third and final installment in Ti West’s trilogy, A24 will be releasing X and Pearl follow-up MaXXXine in theaters July 5, and a brand new official trailer has arrived today.
Watch the new trailer for MaXXXine below, which cleverly begins with a faux trailer for the movie-within-a-movie, The Puritan II. From there it’s a lot of the same footage we’ve already seen, with Goth’s character being pursued in 1980s Hollywood by the Night Stalker. There’s a Giallo vibe throughout the trailer, with West slicing his knife into Hollywood this time around.
As Ti West explained a while back, “The way that X is a movie that is informed by and affected by independent exploitation auteur Americana and 1970s cinema, and Pearl is perhaps affected by the Golden Age of Hollywood and the glitz and glamor of cinema, MaXXXine will be more about within the industry...

The fact that there was going to be a Blade reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe came as a huge surprise when the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July of 2019 – but all these years later, we’re still waiting on the film to make its way into production. Three entries in, and Ti West's horror-porno hybrid franchise knows that its secret weapon is Mia Goth's "uncanny-valley" smile. This poster leans into it fully, with the Hollywood stage lights, the glossy glamour of the design referencing the films tinseltown setting as a backdrop, and a golden highlight. The triple X in the title serves several purposes. First, a nod the VHS horror boom in the 1980s (when Maxxxine takes place) where every tape was labelled XXX to capitalize on the American Motion Picture Ratings Association's addition of the X, which mean adults only in contemporary theatrical releases. Second, it is part three of the X franchise. And third, it is has typographical flair. The title card at the bottom just pops....

After four long years, Blade is finally seeing some sort of movement. Many do not believe that it’s been so long since Marvel Studios got the fans hyped up about a Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali. But its journey so far has been anything but smooth sailing. They’ve gone through directors and writers left and right. And just when it seemed like things were back on track, another curveball seemed to be waiting just around the corner, now, they’re hunting for yet another writer to give the script a makeover.

And amidst all of this, they want a new mystery villain in the mix, though fans are still in the dark about who they have in mind particularly. Fans started to speculate, and The Boys actor seemed to fit the bill.

As George Miller’s oil and blood-fuelled Furiosa hits the screens, we ponder what makes a great prequel.
Mild spoilers for The First Omen.
There are a lot of bad prequels. There are some good prequels, but a great prequel is a rare thing to come across. They’re like a rare animal, the unicorns of cinema. Some wonder if such a thing even exists, but when you do watch one, it’s really rather something.
George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga might just be one, a prequel which somehow manages to justify its existence and repeat the exhilarating sense of time and place as Mad Max: Fury Road. I’d be surprised if we saw another action film as handsomely made as Furiosa in 2024. Or 2025. Or 2026.
Prequels are an easy sell for studios, but a hard sell for audiences. For studios, they’re an easy way...

The Sci-Fi genre consists of some of the most inventive and life-changing films because by the very definition of the word the creators have to invent a fictional future or technology and while some of the films in this genre give us spectacle others give us a story that makes us think about the future and how our world is changing for better or for worse. So, today we thought of listing the best new sci-fi films you can watch at home right now and in this list, we didn’t include any film released before 2023.

The upcoming film MaXXXine, directed by Ti West, continues to build on the thematic and visual style that has captivated audiences in the first two entries of his horror trilogy. Building on the gritty, retro vibes of X and Pearl, West’s latest installment takes us to the glitzy yet sinister streets of 1980s Hollywood. Returning as the titular character, Mia Goth plunges into a journey that director Ti West describes as one of introspection and self-discovery. For Mia Goth’s Kate, it’s this journey of introspection and self-discovery and discovering her identity. This role is central to the film, with Goth

The pop culture nostalgia cycle might have moved on to the early 2000s, but for many filmmakers and movie fans, the '80s will never go out of style. That's certainly true for director Ti West, who returns this year with the third chapter of his horror trilogy that started with 2022's "X" and was shortly followed by a surprise prequel, "Pearl." Star Mia Goth will return for this summer's bloody conclusion, "MaXXXine," in which aspiring adult film star (and massacre survivor) Maxine Minx is now trying to break into mainstream movies with a role in horror movie "The Puritan II."
"MaXXXine" is set in 1985 Los Angeles, six years after the events of "X." West recently told Empire magazine that "the '80s aspect of it was a natural, chronological thing" -- but that it was also a great opportunity to draw inspiration from '80s movies. For many people,...

Production on MaXXXine, the sequel to director Ti West‘s films Pearl (watch it Here) and X (watch that one at This Link), wrapped way back in May of 2023, and just last month we heard that it has earned an R rating for strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use as it heads toward its July 5th theatrical release date. With that date swiftly approaching, a poster for MaXXXine has arrived online, sporting the warning that “Hollywood is a killer.” You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
MaXXXine is written and directed by West. Mia Goth reprises the role of X survivor Maxine Minx, a burlesque performer and adult film actress with the goal of being a star. The film has the following synopsis: In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as...

Ti West is channeling Paul Schrader for his trilogy ender “MaXXXine.” Oh, and “The Terminator.”
Writer/director West told Total Film that the 1985 Hollywood-set horror film is just as “hardcore” as Schrader’s filmography, with high concept tie-ins of “The Terminator” and “Vice Squad.” Plus, of course, what “X” film is complete without a hint of giallo?
“It’s poppy, but still grounded in more of a grittier ’80s than a shopping-mall ’80s,” West described his film. “You’re seeing the glamorous side of the movie business and the seedy side of Hollywood.”
West said “MaXXXine” has “a ‘Terminator’-like aesthetic to a Paul Schrader hardcore thing to ‘Vice Squad’ to giallo,” all mixed together.

“She’s mine, and I’m hers.”
The prison movie is a cornerstone of the cinematic landscape. Often adjacent to horror, there’s something inherently horrific about a building full of “convicts” jockeying for power. Criminal masterminds and the wrongfully convicted alike become pawns in a dehumanizing system and struggle to stay alive in the restrictive environment. Claire Denis pushes this genre to its outer limits with sci-fi and horror elements comparing incarceration to the prison of the human body. Her 2018 film High Life follows a group of prisoners turned astronauts who struggle to retain their humanity after the world has cast them out.
When we first meet Monte (Robert Pattinson), he’s raising a toddler on an isolated space station in the galaxy’s outer reaches. His daughter Willow was conceived through assault by fellow inmate Dr. Dibs (Juliette Binoche) as a part of her mission to reproduce in space.

Zac Efron is following The Iron Claw with a new Ti West movie, based on the graphic novel Night Business. More on the film here.
It looks like we may have lost Ti West to the 1980s – at least for a while longer – if a recent report from Daniel Richtman is true.
Richtman is claiming that West’s next film will be Night Business, a 1980s set trashy thriller based on the graphic novel of the same name. The X and Pearl director has recently completed MaXXXine, the third film in his era-hopping horror series. MaXXXine releases in July and is also partly about a serial killer at large in 1980s Los Angeles.
While Ti West has publicly stated that another film in that series could yet happen, his next project looks more likely to be Night Business. Here’s the synopsis, as picked up by World Of Reel:

With the release of MaXXXine less than two months away, Ti West is setting up his next project, which sounds like another helping of pure ’80s sleaze. According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Zac Efron is reportedly in talks to star in Night Business, a series adaptation of the cult graphic novel by Benjamin Marra, which Ti West will direct.
A24 will produce the Night Business series with Nathaniel Halpern (Legion) writing the script and serving as showrunner. Here’s the logline: “In this 1980s-trash-culture homage where a knife-wielding killer is on the loose, committing extreme acts of violence on exotic dancers. Only one man has a will powerful enough to stop this psychopath: Johnny Timothy. But can Johnny mete out his vengeance before more innocent victims have to die? A nasty brew of power, passion, vigilantes, and dangerous men raining street justice down upon their enemies.” Zac Efron would play Johnny Timothy,...

The year of 2022 was quite fruitful for horror features, as we saw such genre’s gems, as Barbarian, The Menu, Smile and Scream. However, they all didn’t make enough noise to be everywhere on the Net not only at the time, but over the course of these 2 years too.
There is one movie which obviously managed to do so, given the enormous amount of memes, viral videos and Halloween costumes inspired by it. It’d be surprising to hear that it appears to be a sequel, but it definitely overhyped the original movie.
Its plot focuses on the life of a mentally ill young woman forced to live with her abusive parents and her husband at the farm. She can’t stand this way of life and lusts for the glamorous life of a chorus girl or a film star, but her dreams don't seem to come true.

Being recognized as one of the most talented young actresses of the 21st century, Mia Goth presents horror as her trademark genre. Starting from A Cure for Wellness (2016), the actress has been proving that she impeccably fits in the genre, continuing the fruitful trend of her career with the incredibly successful 2022 slashers X and Pearl.
However, there is a lesser-known 2023 horror movie, where Goth fully reveals her potential as the genre’s queen. Despite its sophisticated nature, it definitely appears to be a must-watch for all fans of the actress and for the most curious cinephiles.
Set in an isolated island resort, it focuses on the married couple, the writer in a creative crisis and his unhappy wife, coming there on a vacation. They meet Goth’s mysterious Gabi, who starts to show them the other side of the resort alongside her husband.

Through his X movies, Ti West has created one of the best, most ambitious horror series going right now. And while we’re on the cusp of his trilogy coming to an end after the slow-burn ‘70s homage X and demented origin story Pearl, some may be eager for more after this summer’s MaXXXine. But will that ever happen?
Ti West confirmed that MaXXXine “will probably be the end of the Maxine era” but did also note, “I do have one idea that plays into these movies that could maybe happen. I don’t know if it’ll be next. It might be. We’ll see.” That’s not too hopeful, but we did go in knowing that Ti West would be delivering a trilogy, so we can’t be all that disappointed if it ends where it was intended to.

With X, Ti West lovingly re-conjured the scuzzy spirit of ‘70s classics like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. With its surprise prequel Pearl, he dialled back to clock to early Technicolor game-changers like The Wizard Of Oz, taking the yellow brick road and painting it blood-red. And now, for his trilogy-capper MaXXXine, he’s heading into the 1980s – taking Mia Goth’s aspiring star Maxine and plunging her into the sinister, seductive world of Hollywood.
As well as taking audiences six years beyond the events of X, in which Goth’s Maxine was the sole survivor of the Farmer’s Daughter massacre, the ‘80s setting of MaXXXine is a major influence on how the film looks and feels. “A big part of the aesthetic of the movie is the shiny parts of Hollywood [versus] the seedy parts of Hollywood,” West tells Empire in the Deadpool & Wolverine issue. “The shiny type of movies that are made,...
