Clint Eastwood did not believe that he had many acting roles left to do at his age. However, Eastwood had already made a backup plan if he or the viewers had enough of his acting. His main intention for stepping into the director’s shoes in his 1971 film Play Misty for Me was to stay behind the camera even after retiring from acting. It came as a blessing since Eastwood won his first Oscar as a director for his 1992 film Unforgiven.

Clint Eastwood is known for his starring roles in Westerns as well as his directorials. The veteran actor and director is still going strong at the age of 94 and is currently helming a new project. He has made films such as Million Dollar Baby, Play Misty For Me, Gran Torino, and Letters from Iwo Jima. The actor has also won Oscars for his directorials.
Eastwood won his first Oscar for Best Director (and Best Picture) for the Western film Unforgiven. The 1992 film also starred the veteran actor as a retired gunman who comes back into the business when a huge bounty opens up. The creative team behind Indian Horse, the 2017 feature adaptation of the late Richard Wagamese’s novel of the same name, are partnering for a documentary, The Storyteller, on the legendary Canadian indigenous writer.
Stephen Campanelli, Clint Eastwood’s go-to cameraman, directed Indian Horse after it was adapted by Dennis Foon. In a deal to be unveiled at the Banff World Media Festival, Campanelli will serve as the cinematographer and Foon as a story consultant on the feature documentary about Wagamese and his Ojibway heritage to be directed by Jules Arita Koostachin (WaaPaKe, Broken Angel).
The indigenous creatives behind The Storyteller include Jim Compton as principal producer, while also serving as a writer and executive producer alongside Koostachin. Villains are probably the best part of a film these days. After all, they know how to keep both the heroes and the audience on their toes! While there are some villains that win us over by their redemption arcs, others are simply just too much to handle, and Gene Hackman’s sheriff “Little Bill” Daggett in Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven (1992) is one of those who fall in the second group.
Gene Hackman in Unforgiven (1992) | Warner Bros.
The worst part about the character was that while he was supposed to be the film’s antagonist, he never saw himself as one. According to him, his actions were for the sake of good and the betterment of the world. While this may infuriate the average viewer, this is exactly what Clint Eastwood loved about the character.

These days Netflix’s global top is blown by a new sci-fi that turned out to be a failure. Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas, following an analyst on her space mission together with the onboard AI, received a shameful 19% of critical acclaim on Rotten Tomatoes.
Luckily, it has rekindled people’s interest in robot movies, as one of them is now recalled by Netflix audience. It has recently gained such a strong viewership that it is now holding the forth place in the platform’s chart, even though it was released 13 years ago.
The film’s plot revolves around Charlie, a boxer who was forced to retire from sports ‘cause the boxing ring was taken over by heavier and more powerful robots. That is why he starts living a routine of collecting scrap metal and making low-end fighters of it.

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is one of the most acclaimed directors of the generation. He is known for his gory action dramas that have sprinkles of dark humor and act as tributes to all the films he has loved. He is known for films such as Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Kill Bill, and more. He has also written books about cinema.
Tarantino has always appreciated brilliant pieces of art and has also criticized films that he felt did not meet the mark. He reportedly loved Takashi Miike’s cult horror film Audition. He especially commented on the much-talked-about final scenes in the Japanese horror film and spoke about how Miike took the audience on a ride.

Tom Cruise looks like he’s picked a remake of The Gauntlet as his first project once he’s finished Mission: Impossible 8.
Following the eventual completion of the next Mission: Impossible film, we’d imagine both Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie will want to take a nice, long holiday. After that, though? It looks like they’ll be reuniting for a remake of the 1977 Clint Eastwood thriller, The Gauntlet.
News of the project first leaked in April and seemed to confirm earlier hints McQuarrie had dropped about their next collaboration. Having previously described their next project as “gnarlier” than the Mission: Impossible films, McQuarrie also added that “It’s something we’ve talked about for a really long time. It’s way outside of what you’re used to seeing Tom do. It’s the kind of stuff I really love. It’s a little bit more in my wheelhouse.

Glen Powell was probably one of the best parts of 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. Sure, the story and the action sequences were pretty damn good too but Hangman was certainly a treat to the eyes. However, Glen Powell was not always this ripped, obviously. It took a lot of perseverance and “Endurance” to get where he is today, quite literally.

Clint Eastwood retired from the Western genre with the most epic Western film in cinematic history, Unforgiven. It won the Best Picture Oscar and the Best Director Oscar for Eastwood. In his final Western outing, Eastwood deconstructed some of the outdated myths that were popular in Westerns including John Wayne films. Not only did he create the greatest Western movie, he also inspired other filmmakers in the genre with this film.

As he reaches the momentous milestone – and ahead of new movie Juror No 2 – we rate the screen icon’s best performances, from playing a poncho-clad anti-hero to having squinty showdowns in cemeteries
Against all advice, Clint Eastwood switched direction with a knockabout comedy that would be one of his biggest hits. He plays a bare-knuckle fighter who falls for a country singer, though the real romantic chemistry is between him and Clyde the orangutan. Barroom brawls aplenty! Ruth Gordon (as “Ma”) v Nazi bikers!

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone is coming to an end with the second part of the final season, currently in production. While a spinoff series is in the slate from the same creator, neither Sheridan nor Paramount has said anything definitive about the series. According to a recent report, three major Yellowstone stars would return to the spinoff series with a record salary.

It was reported that Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes would return in the spinoff. Earlier reports suggested that the spinoff is eyeing top actors like Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer, who are pricier than the three aforementioned Yellowstone stars.
However, it is unlikely that these stars would beat the record salaries of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in The Morning Show.

After years of being in the industry, Taylor Sheridan finally made his presence known to people worldwide through Yellowstone, which became an instant hit among fans as soon as it was released. And yet, despite being one of the actor cum director’s best-ever projects to date, the series still seemingly faces the wrath of critics, as Sheridan himself admitted it.

That said, the 54-year-old cowboy never hesitated to respond back to all of those critics either. In fact, if anything, he used that very star-studded Kevin Costner-led series to troll critics as a response to their critical reviews on the same. And now, the Wind River helmer seems to have finally revealed the real reason behind just why his genius decided to take this approach.

Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy seems to have had a rough run at the box office. Based on the TV show of the same name, the film followed Gosling as a stuntman who gets involved in a conspiracy involving the lead actor of a film directed by his ex-girlfriend, played by Emily Blunt. The action comedy was directed by David Leitch, who last helmed Bullet Train.
Gosling’s film reportedly only earned a meager $145 million against a $127 million budget, making it a box office bomb. While the film received positive responses from fans and critics, author Stephen King seemed to have had a mixed reaction to the film. He reportedly disagreed with a review of the film that called it ‘great fun’.

On the heels of The Godfather (1972), Ruddy produced another box-office hit with the original The Longest Yard (1974), the prison-set football movie that starred Burt Reynolds. The pair then reteamed for the action road films The Cannonball Run (1981) and its 1984 sequel, both directed by stuntman-turned-helmer Hal Needham.

Taylor Sheridan is unarguably one of the most renowned artists in Hollywood in today’s day and age, especially in the television shows/series industry. And this irrevocable fame isn’t for his outstanding acting skills, but rather, for his brilliant skills as a story creator and a showrunner, considering how he has brought a whole masterpiece universe like Yellowstone to life most epically.

However, while many people know him for the widely respected and thoroughly successful man that he is today, not everyone knows how he initially started — which was as an actor. And his story of finding a place in Hollywood is quite literally just as amusing as Yellowstone and all its prequel spin-off sagas he has made to date, considering how he literally punched his way into the industry!

“Thank you for your service.” The words have become a cliché, but Hollywood has tried long and hard to make them matter. The industry has produced countless films about warfare and those who died for their country (whom we remember this week). But it has had a mixed record on presenting characters suffering the after-effects of putting their lives on the line. They may have survived, but lost comrades and innocence. It is their moment, too.
World War II brought the most cinematic treatment, and one of the directors who himself served — William Wyler — later had the guts to depict the challenges soldiers faced when the fighting stopped. Vietnam was likely the most troublesome to depict, it being the one we lost. Right-winger John Wayne was up first, with “The Green Berets,” gung-ho in flavor. It wasn’t until the late ‘70s that a pair of exceptional movies focused less...

Taylor Sheridan was inspired by all the Western films he saw as a youngster to create Yellowstone. One film that influenced him the most was Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-winning film Unforgiven. However, Eastwood’s indirect contributions to Sheridan’s series go beyond Western inspiration. The creator hired one actor in the series after watching him play a role in an Eastwood film.

The detective genre is by far considered to be one of the most captivating out there, and it doesn’t matter which tropes are used in films: it’s always thrilling to see the drama behind the controversial crimes committed.
There’s also a huge variety of ways to keep the story interesting: you can go with a whodunit plot twist, or on the contrary, focus on the main character trying to solve the mystery while the viewers already know all the answers.
Sometimes, though, the answers are unclear even after the movie ends, like it was in Zodiac, the movie which many consider one of the bests in the genre.

One of his most entertaining supporting roles was in the 2012 rom-com Gayby, where he played the role of Neil, the co-worker of Matthew Wilkas’s character. Neil is a comic book enthusiast, and he shares the sentiments of many Marvel fans who hated the infamous Spider-Man storyline One More Day and how it ruined many arcs up to that point.

For over half a century, Clint Eastwood has been one of the world’s greatest movie stars. Comfortable in both westerns and contemporary roles, his measured growl of a voice has been a key part in creating such iconic characters as The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry. This photo gallery ranks his best films as a director.
Eastwood made his first foray into directing in 1971 with the thriller “Play Misty For Me,” earning him a newfound critical respect for his clear directorial skills. And over 35 films later, Eastwood has become one of the most acclaimed filmmakers working today. Of his 11 Oscar nominations, four have been for Best Director with two wins (1992’s “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby” in 2004). He also won producing Oscars for the same two movies. Morgan Freeman once quoted the nautical saying “long foretold, long last; short notice, soon past” to describe his acting career. He meant that it took him along time to achieve success in the acting profession but he hoped his long struggle would mean his career would last and not prove to be just a flash in the pan. His career has lasted and Freeman has had a nearly 30-year film career in major movies.
Freeman’s career started on the New York stage in the musical theater when he took over the role of Rudy the Maître d’ of the restaurant where the famous title number is performed. He was part of the groundbreaking moment when Pearl Bailey led an all-black cast into the production which had been running for years with white performers.
In the 1970s Freeman appeared for seven years and 680 episodes of the children’s television series “The Electric Company.

Clint Eastwood, the actor-turned-director and producer, has had one of the longest and most varied careers of anyone working in the entertainment world. In addition to his film work he has also amassed an impressive resume as a musician and composer and even served as the mayor of the California town Carmel-by-the-Sea during the 1980s.
Eastwood began his film career in westerns and later also found success in crime dramas. He was mostly known for his striking good looks and stoic demeanor though and was not really considered a serious or talented actor. He would slowly work to change that fact and would eventually receive two Oscar nominations for his acting, both as Best Actor for “Unforgiven” in 1992 and “Million Dollar Baby” in 2004. While he didn’t win either of those acting awards, he would win two Oscars for each of those films as Best Director and as a producer...
