True Grit (2010)
Can watch it over and over
I HAVE watched this film over and over, sometime with only sound, and I pick up new delicious details every time. Jeff as always does a great job. Hailee was brand new to me and wow such talent. I am still impressed. But who I loved most was Matt Damon and although he is always good or great he just played his character at a phenomenal level. When LeBouef and Mattie part ways the scene is incredibly heartfelt with a mix of endearment and panic and respect. The look on Matt's face...that's acting to its finest. Thanks all. Really entertaining movie. And a nod to the music - leaning on the everlasting arms. Perfect fit for this movie.
Shetland (2013)
Identical twins
As an identical twin it was quite interesting to see how others treat the surviving twin in a murder. So many suspects. "Thomas" does fantastic acting and had me creeped out all the way till I am crying at the end. So many twists and turns with a curve ball out of nowhere.
Then another and another. Absolutely beautiful scenery which warranted a look on the globe to see where this cold and windy Shetland is located. Now I just have to go there. So much spectacular landscapes. All acting really good. Great cinematography. Caught a couple errors but no big distraction. I caught myself talking like a Shetlander. Loving Norway too - dark hair and crystal blue eyes are so beautiful. Really good to watch. Couldn't even take a break during my binge. I had to know whodunnit! I was wrong every time! So good. Got me off the planet which was so good. Thank you!
Anatomy of a Scandal (2022)
I was so angry at the end I am so sorry I wasted time on this
Things happen that would NEVER happen. The prosecutor should have made the severe problem known from the beginning. The wife comes off as a self serving ninny. When does no mean no comes off as a pitiful defense. Rape is serious when it's really rape. Women have made life so much worse with nonsense like this. I am a paralegal and a rape victim. This absolutely infuriated me. So sorry I watched it. I want my time back. Horrible.
Acting was good. Story line was terrible. So many court rules would NEVER happen. Do the writers think we the viewers are that stupid? You can write something with huge misrepresentations of real law and think we will just swallow it!?
And what happened 20 years ago at a drunken college chases a women forever? Get over it after 20 years. I did. It's effing possible.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Let the fun return
I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see memories repeated. The Dino's were amazing. Special effects awesome as the first time. There were big shoes to fill. I found it extremely entertaining and believable. Yes not perfect. Acting from the actors returning was a little rusty. But I had fun the entire movie. So glad it was made. Thank you! My life needed it!
Faster (2010)
Refreshingly new stuff
New stunts new camera shots classy dialogue not the same ol same ol. Awesome CARS. Really fun entertaining flick. Kinda the same story line I have seen but with more spit and polish. I liked it! Two times I actually sat up and yelled out Oh my god!!!!! Shocking slick heart pounder moments.
The Tender Bar (2021)
Right at the heart
Ben is so good all the time and especially here. This movie hits right at the heart. Life is not perfect for most of us. It's just life. And very few lives are spectacular. So settle into this wonderful good rich movie and see life where most of us live and enjoy it. The movie and life. Acting is great. Story is great. Music is just awesome. Loved the 70s. Life is short. Enjoy what blessing you have reminds this movie. Coming from a 70s woman with terminal brain cancer. Ah life was good. As is this soul soothing movie. Great job George and Ben! Thank you. I needed this.
The Motive (2020)
Still hungry. Why why why???
Sitting around a table with the smells and sights of a delicious dinner you are never allowed to eat. Frustrating and irritating. Lots of great footage and intriguing details. I have been to Jerusalem so it was good to see it again. And I love the Jewish people. So I am all set to sit around the table to the very end when I can finally...oh...no...never get to know why, why, why.
He did turn out to be a very handsome man with children. And I have a couple of ideas why why why. But very very aggravating that it is never finished. What? Are we supposed to write our own ending. That's ok if this is fiction. But it's not! Don't write a documentary that you can't or won't finish. Very annoying and a waste of my time. Happens again and I will never come back for dinner. Fooled me once....
Audrey (2020)
Beauty inside outside and all around.
The most beautiful documentary I have ever seen. I did not know she was so very beautiful on the inside despite her pain. She learned how to urn pain into love and joy. Life changing.
The Blacklist: The Skinner (No. 45) (2021)
Finally
I have always hated the Liz character. So glad she is so over. I blame the casting director. Such a bad match. I can not enjoy this show more. Love the Red character and always have. Sexy bad guy and so yummy. Several good actors. I will always love Reddington.
Pig (2021)
My heart is touched.
Holy pig what a movie. Great story. Great photography
Great editing. Marinated in a rich broth of one of Nick Cages best performances and also supporting actor performances. Such delicious aroma as this film progresses into a life lesson. So heartfelt.
Retreat (2011)
I was glued
So many twists and turns. Just when I thought I had figured it out...nope. And the ending shocked me.
Great acting too. I love when I am so into the character that I forget he or she is famous.
Really enjoyed it.
All About Steve (2009)
First one I couldn't finish
I tried. But it just kept getting stupider and stupider. I am a huge Sandy and Brad fan, but it was just too terrible to finish watching.
Bones: The High in the Low (2014)
Lupus and cannabis correction - important!
My daughter has lupus nephritis (kidneys) and CNS (brain) involvement. Her specialists will NOT allow cannibus use due to contraindications with the other drugs that keep her alive.
Also I have stage 4 brain cancer and I cannot use cannibus as it is contraindicated with the opioids that are much better pain control. Cannot use both. Please done misdirect.
Bones: The Feet on the Beach (2011)
Tacky parts
Joke about fat cop and donuts - absolutely unkind to his condition and his job. Booth usually always charming funny and intelligent can now add ass.
Bones comes off more narcissistic than always - too much to handle in this episode.
Cam cheating to get her kid in school - horrible. Glad it was corrected. Sweets saves this episode with wisdom and integrity.
The Secret of Roan Inish (1994)
All positives possible
Charming, entertaining, well acted, well produced, and you cannot beat Irish landscape. Such a lovely lovely story. Happy tears!
You Belong to Me (2021)
I liked it!
I am into psychology and mind games and their origins. I liked this movie.
The Blacklist (2013)
Finally better
Never have liked the actress playing Keen. I have only endured her. That character could have been so better cast. Finally gone. Hurray! This deserves a 10 without her. Go Spader!
Dirty John (2018)
Amanda Peet is AMAZING
I intended to watch oh 1 or 2 episodes then change to something else. Finish over the next couple weeks. Nope. SO GOOD I stayed up half the night watching until the end. Binged! Could not stop. Just incredibly entertaining. I will say it again. So good to see Amanda Peet and she was AMAZING! Well done!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Flawless
What a great trip! Brought back so many great memories that were re-lived and enjoyed so much. Rami could not have been better. He obviously worked very very hard to get it right and indeed he did. Well done! Loved it loved it! Well done Rami! Wow!
Mr. Robot (2015)
Binging Bliss
Rami is my new fav number 1 male actor. Just one of those once in a generation amazing actors who pours himself into a character. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't stop. Ah fantastic weekend.
Beaches (1988)
Casting problem
Would have been perfect if Barbara Hersey was not cast as Whitney. She did not fit into this movie at all. She as Whitney would have never been friends with Bette's character. Very bes match.
Horizon Line (2020)
Ok till half way
Quite possibly the cheesiest movie I have ever seen. It had hope at first and then the story line just gets absolutely implausible and then just plain stupid. Insultingly stupid. So disappointed.
Let Him Go (2020)
Oh no! Say it ain't so!!!
Costner and Lane are among my very very favorites and I was so looking forward to this movie! No way that mom would have everything she needed to get away and put t off. No way! What a smack in the face to those of us who managed to win no help. And then kill the hero? No no! Such a bad bad story that in order to make wrong right the hero must die. It will take a long time to dry tears and the. Get this movie out of my head and my heart. Still love Kevin and Diane though. Hate hate hate the ending.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Absolute truth
I have been seeing this coming and it's getting worse and worse, I just couldn't put a finger on it. And could the leaders, actual human beings, really value wealth over the mental health of human beings worldwide. Absolute truth we must change to save us all! Wealth is never more important than mental health!
The Vanished (2020)
Entertaining!
Wow Anne Heche does a great job acting in this movie. I am not a big fan but certainly impressed on this one. Didn't expect a lot but it was very engaging suspense. Some great one liners such as "it's a fine line between denial and hope".
