*List still in Progress* - List of the most talented and accomplished actors and actresses in film history *Still adding to and tweaking this list* Regarding the top 5 on my list, it's absolutely impossible to confidently state that one of these 5 is "the one." Having said that, the IMDB program is not equipped to handle a 5-way tie, so this is my best attempt to rank the top 5. I might as well have flipped a coin.

*This list is still in process* - I am a junkie. A film junkie that is. Most human beings have one or more kinds of vices, habits or passions. Mine is film. It is my alcohol, drug, exercise, food, simply anything a person can get addicted to. I believe we are currently (2020) in the middle of a new cinematic "golden age." In my meaningless opinion, this is the most phenomenal time in cinema thus far. I believe that film currently serves a powerful and important function in the 21st century, such as books did for centuries prior. In other words, the power, beauty and creativity that humanity found in literature and poetry in the centuries leading up to present day, has gradually morphed into what film serves for humanity today. I have watched many films from the 30's and 40's, but for the sake of my personal tastes, my age (I was born in 1976), and the evolution of film techniques, CGI, directing and acting methods, this list really only include films that were released between 1950 and the present time (with two exceptions - "Citizen Kane" and "My Darling Clementine"). I love when people recommend a movie I haven't seen. This is simply an ongoing list of this junkie's passion. It will adapt as I watch films I haven't seen, new films are released, and of course, how films age. I believe movies are like a fine wine or whiskey. One of the fundamental components of how good a movie is, is to see how it ages over time. I need to watch a film at least two, three or four times before I can truly form an authentic opinion about it, and that takes time, often times years. If you review this list, you will clearly see I am partial to Westerns, Epic Historic Tales, and Crime/Gangster films. That said, I will watch anything decent, including romances, foreign films, horror and totally bizarre independent films. If it's well made, I can get into pretty much any genre. That said, there are no animated films on this list. I love animated films, and you can find some of my favorites on my Best Animated Films list, but they deserve their own, seperate list. Lastly, one genre I've never found intriguing is musicals. Yes, I've watched West Side Story and Grease, but I personally feel there should be a separate category for the Academy voters for best musical. No "La La Land" or "Chicago" on this list. To each his own, but musicals just don't do it for me.

You know those movies that sound great, the story just jumps off the page and pulls you in, the ones where you simply can't wait to see because you watched an amazing trailer, or you read the book it's based on. How many times has this happened to you? When you walk into a movie theater filled with unbridled anticipation, but walk out sulking with disapointment? Well this list will eventually cover dozens of films that left us wanting more (or less), just not wanting what we just experienced. Bare with me, this is a brand new list, and will take some time to build. So far I only have a few movies in mind, but I'm confidnet after I have a few days/weeks to give this topic more thought I'll have dozens of titles filling the collumbs.

The "Honorable Mention List." This was not intended to be an extension of my "Top 350 films since 1950" list, but I suppose it has ended up being precisely that, but with much less thought going into the order of this list. This is just a list of movies I love, and a good list for anyone to utilize who wants recommendations on watching a film they haven't seen before. Some of the criteria for the motion pictures that make up this list are the following: *Highly entertaining *Gripping stories (powerful writing/script) *Superb acting *High level of Directing *Awesome action sequences *Amazing special effects *Gorgeous cinematography *Shelf life (How well has the film aged). Some of these films might only include one or two of these components. Some include all. Some of these films have plot holes. Some are certainly not popular with "professional critics." None of these films are perfect...but what film is? With some of these movies, you have to suspend disbelief. But having said all of that, each of these films entertained me. And isn't that one of the main reasons many of us watch film? To be entertained? To escape reality? To become engrossed in an interesting story? I found these movies strong enough to recommend being well worth your time to experience. If you enjoy well crafted dramas, psychological thrillers, war movies, decent action movies, crime/gangster capers, westerns, comedy/action flicks, epic adventures, fantasy, or you simply need a good film to help you escape the doldrums of the everyday grind, in my opinion this is a great list. And I am still adding to it!
