Atlas (2024)
I really wanted to give this movie a fair shake
Ok, I wanted to like this movie because of all the bad backlash JLO has been getting lately, so I wanted to give this movie a chance, and give it an unbiased opinion. But OMG, what a disaster. If you want to watch a movie full of JLO screaming, crying, yelling, swearing, grunting, etc for 80% of the movie, then this is the movie for you. Not only did her over acting annoy the heck out of me, but her need to always look her best (including wearing bracelets into battle and wearing super tight clothing to show off her figure) was so unrealistic. This was clearly a vanity movie project for JLO....
Lessons in Chemistry (2023)
What is the big deal with Brie Larson?
OMG, I really wanted to like the show especially since it seemed to start off so promising. However, then the main character's lack of depth was just too off putting for me. For the entire first episode I suppose she was trying to convey a women who was not interested in what is typically female interest, but instead she came across very robotic. So much so that she would have been better suited playing the roll of a robot. Then when she was suppose to appear as someone who was hurt, devastated, etc, her acting was so cringy that I simply wanted to turn it off. But, the icing on the cake of what made me decide not to go any further than the 3rd episode, was the way the lazy writers try to force todays current feminist words onto the storyline without much though into how the story is conveyed, but instead using words that weren't even used in the 50's.
Anyway, as a result, I simply cannot go any further with this series. Instead, I think I'll read the book. I see others saying the book was better.
Beckham (2023)
...and I'm not even a soccer (football) fan
Surprisingly, I absolutely loved this series. Because I'm not a soccer fan, nor did I know much about Beckham, I hadn't really planned on watching this show. However, it was there in the Netflix list so I thought what the heck. Let me see what all the hype is about. Well from the start I was hooked. This is a great series, not only because of the wonderful story telling of his life along with videos, but also because of the way they seemed to show the honestly of all sides of their history...the good, the bad, and the downright horrible times in their lives (soccer fans hatred, marriage struggles, sacrafices, etc.)
Servant: Fallen (2023)
Lovely ending
Now I know the finale received a lot of bad ratings, but I thought it was sweet, and the only way it could have ended. You get back to who Leanne really was, and why she was the way she was and is, before she got crazy positive. The episode had just enough CGI in it without over doing it. The story is about Leanne, and how she felt about the family, not about special effects. I thought is was a fitting ending, However, the ending did leave the door open for a possible Season 5. I loved this series and would differently watch it again if there is a season 5. Maybe there were a few questions left unanswered, but those questions were not that big of a deal Also, it leaves space for a another season.
Ghosts (2021)
I'm glad I didn't give up after the first 2 or 3 episodes.
Ok, I have to admit that when I first started watching this series, I thought it was dumb, and the characters were stupidly unbelievable. However, there after having nothing left to watch on TV that was interesting enough to waste my time over, I decided to give this show another chance, and I'm glad I did. I am now so amused with the quirky characters that I now find myself binging on this show. Yes, the show is silly, but in such a delightful way. No politics, no wokness, no nudity, no swearing...just good simple fun the way shows use to be. Give this show a chance for at least 4 or 5 episodes. I think it may surprise you.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
I'm so done listening to what the critics say
I'm so done listening to what the critics say about movies. They don't seem to care at all about how entertaining a movie is anymore, but instead on how much "Wokenss" it contains. This movie was so boring that I am pissed off at myself for wasting my time when I could have been reading a good book instead.
Well, maybe I will continue to listen to the critics, but only to see what they don't like, which usually means I will like it.
1883: Lightning Yellow Hair (2022)
She sure got over her first love quickly
This Elsa character is getting really annoying. She's like a spoil brat.
In addition, what's up with her going for the Indian so soon after she loses her first love. She sure got over her first love quickly.
This episode was ridiculous and so boring. I couldn't even finish it.
By the way, can the writers please give some of the other actors more air time. Why does this show have to be all about Elsa?
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Another hit for Taylor Sheridan
This new show is awesome!!! I could not stop watching it, and as a result I saw the whole season in 2 days. My only complaint is that it almost makes all law enforcement look like the bad guys, and makes almost all the bad guys look like the good ones. But still, a great story, and great acting. I can hardly wait for Season 2. There is going to be a season 2 right?
Yellowstone: Keep the Wolves Close (2021)
Disappointing episode
First of all let me start by saying "Please, please, please" get rid of the girls in the bunkhouse especially the blond. They are so annoying and its ridiculous to have them in the show.
As for Beth, I was starting to like her in season 3, and the first part of season 4, but now her personally is now becoming "over the top crazy and mean. The writers need to tone her down.
Anyway, Yellowstone is still (so far) one of my favorite series, however I hope the writers find a way of bringing back the magic they had in season 3.
Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
Conflicted about the season
I think the only way this story could have ended was with Harrison killing Dexter, however, too much happened too soon without anything leading up to all the personality changes, and the ending. For instance, As far as Harrison there was little to show that Harrison was having second thoughts about this whole "Killing thing."
Also, I liked the first Dexter because he actually was kind of a nice guy. However, in this New Blood series there was little to connect me to this Dexter, and when he was killed I felt nothing for him but was glad to see him go.

Yellowstone (2018)
Why?!
Why do writers in Hollywood these days seem to think that shows have to contain unnecessary profanity and nudity in them to be any good.
I am only giving this show an 8 instead of a 10 because of the gratuitous sex and nude scenes.
I will say that it is a refreshing show.
The Protégé (2021)
Fun action packed movie
I saw that this movie was made in 2021 and almost did not watch it because so many movies made recently have been nothing but "woke crap", however, this movie surprised me. Not only was this movie fun, action packed, and funny at times, but Hollywood did it without forcing us to watch a bunch of gratuitous gay sex scenes or non-stop profanity. Maybe Hollywood is finally realizing that movies don't need a bunch of unnecessary woke crap thrown into it to make it good.
Black Widow (2021)
A pleasant surprise
I almost didn't watch this movie because so many movies made in 2021 have been so bad, but I have to say that I'm glad I decided to take the time to watch this one. Not only did it have almost non-stop action, it also had a really heart warming, cute story-line that was at times really funny. It may not be this years great movie, but it was certainly entertaining.
Respect (2021)
Boring...boring...boring
I am so disappointed in what I thought was going to be a great movie because I love Jennifer Hudson so much. But even with her wonderful voice, this movie could not pull it off.
Not only was it too long, and boring, but disappointing because it completely "White-washed" much of who the real Aretha Franklin was like, and what her father was like. He was no angel, and neither was she. It's not that I feel it necessary to bring someones reputation down, but its important not to lie about it so much that it almost becomes close to fiction.
Swan Song (2021)
I really tried to like this movie
I really tired to like this movie because I love the actor, Mahershala Ali, so much. However it was so slow and boring that about 30 mins in I just couldn't waste anymore of my time. Sorry...but really I tried.
The Wheel of Time: The Flame of Tar Valon (2021)
It's over for me
It's over for me. I have given this show enough of my time. Why are they even calling this show "The Wheel of Time?" It is so far from the written words of the book that I don't even recognize it anymore. And if the writers thought changing so much of the story was going to put this show into the category of Game of Thrones, well they were wrong. All they have done is gone and messed up the story of a great book. In addition, the writers are trying so hard to be woke by throwing in gratuitous gay sex scenes, however, these gratuitous additions have only resulted in irritating me because there was not point in adding them. And speaking of woke, I predict that the Dragon will be Egwene...why?... because "THEY" need it to be a woman to show more of their wokeness.
Succession: What It Takes (2021)
Were last years writers replaced?
The first two seasons of this show were amazing, but this season is so awful that I'm not sure I'm going to be able to continue. In fact, this season is so bad that I'm wondering if the original writers were replaced with newbies?
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Get rid of Debra!
I am a huge Dexter fan from the original series, however, I am finding it hard to stomach this new Dexter New Blood series. The man reason being that the periodic showing up of Debra and her constant screaming of profanity really irritates me. In fact, so much so that I am starting to mute my sound whenever she shows up. Please enough already. All that screaming is really messing up the show.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Hollywood trying to rewrite history...with Wokeness
When watching the first 10 mins or so, I really thought I was going to like this movie, especially since I knew there were so many actors in it that I really like. But then there goes Hollywood once again turning what could have been a great movie into a piece of crap in their desire to display how "woke" they are. I have no issues with wanting to create movies that include more black actors, but at least make the storyline, and spoken lines believable. Instead, this movie was beyond ridiculous. I couldn't even finish watching it because it was so bad.
You: Into the Woods (2021)
Did this show hire a bunch of new writers?
So far season 3 has been so bad and disappointing, I can only guess that they must have hired a bunch of new writers. Bring back the old writers if you want this show to have a season 4.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
A great fun movie without the need for...
This was a great epic movie without the need for profanity, nudity, or "wokeness." I hope that Hollywood realizes that you don't need "Wokeness", profanity, or nudity for people to enjoy it.
The Blacklist: The Skinner (No. 45) (2021)
I think its time to let it go
I have watched and loved The Blacklist series from the beginning. The only annoying thing about the show is that it has continually dangled the carrot keeping us captive wondering what Reddington's relationship was to Liz, only to still not get any answers in the last season, and Liz never finding out herself.
However, I do think the show has now run its course and its time to give it a good death.
The Lost Symbol (2021)
Another WOKE piece of garbage
Hollywood, you need to stop trying to brainwash the public with your "WOKE" garbage.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
What comedy use to be
This is what comedy use to be. You could take a topic and make it incredibly funny, and not worry about be canceled.
Dave, in this environment of cancel culture, you are my hero!!!
