Fallout (2024)
Lived up to all my expectations
Wow was I impressed with this show as a whole! I am a 90s baby that grew up around fallout as one of my favorite games. I'd be in that GameStop line at midnight waiting for a single player game. Around this same time I had a love for halo like many others. So when the Halo TV series took a huge hit and let a lot of people down so I was nervous about this. But they stuck to what fallout really is. Used a lot of lore from the actual story line. I'm super happy with the directions they are sending this in. Now I just hope that they stick doing this direction and are able to get renewed for many more years to come.
Skin (2018)
Should of be bigger
For me "Based on true story" movies can be hit or miss. And for Skin I think it definitely hit. I don't remember hearing anything about this movie when it came out. Maybe if it came out today it would of gotten a lot more hype because of the subject matter and how the world is going right now.
Overall think it's important to watch this movie to see how people no matter how deep they are into something can change for the good. The acting was pretty good for not having anyone that I've seen before or at least remember. Saw some people say that this movie was too much for them or their SO wouldn't watch it because of the subject matter and I think that it's more important to watch and get the message rather then running away from the subject and not looking at things from another view.
Mad Men (2007)
Couldn't stop watching!
This is a show that went above and beyond in every category in my opinion. To be honest I wasn't 100% sure about it when starting it even though there was a lot of buzz around it. I waiting until there was a few seasons already in before finally giving it a shot. And boy was I glad I did. If anything it just gave me more episodes to binge. Definitely one of those shows that will have you staying up way too late because it's hard not to click on the next episode. The casting and acting was perfect and the way they send you back to the time period it is set in was perfect. They really made it feel like they were back in that day with how they talked all the way down to little background details. Would highly recommend to anyone that hasn't seen it yet.
Schitt$ Creek (2015)
Great binge comedy
I had a great time watching this series. Was something that everyone around enjoyed and was always ready to watch the next episode. I can definitely see this being a show somewhat like "The Office" in the way that people just pop this on for some guaranteed laughs and something that you don't have to pay a ton of attention to if you don't want to and be lost in the plot. Have it on my list of shows that I definitely will be willing to watch again after some time. Their choice of actors and actresses was very good in my opinion. Really felt like this could be a real family going through their daily struggles and drama. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bingable comedy.
On the Line (2022)
Good potential with horrible ending
Was looking forward to this movie as I hadn't seen anything with Mel Gibson in it lately and enjoy his work. I could definitely see this being a decent TV movie. From the very start it has you guessing and has the tension starting to build right away. Overall the acting was pretty damn good. Now my issue comes in with the ending. In my opinion they threw out everything they had going for the movie. I could name so many other ways to end the movie that would of made this movie awesome. Only reason my score isn't lower is because they did such a good job with the rest of the movie. I will give it up to them for trying to do something different and have it not end like other movies but they just didn't pick the right ending.
Under the Dome (2013)
Wanted to like it so much
The premise was so exciting to me and was super pumped to get into this. Don't know if my high expectations made things worse but I kept on watching just hoping it would get better. The reason I have given this 5 stars and not lower is because like I said the premise was there and honestly there were parts that were so ridiculous that it started to get some laughs out of me. Know that's not what they were going for but hell it made me laugh.
I don't do spoilers in most of my reviews so I'll keep this one the same. But I will say that there were many times that "What are they thinking?" "What made them choose to it this way?" And "This is just dumb" went through my mind many time.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Just want more and more!
This was just simply amazing. Every single episode was a story that I wish there was a whole 5 season story around. There was obviously episodes I like more then others but even the ones that's I liked less then others I'd still be watching over and over.
Really hope this kind of sci-fi work keeps going and is out out there for fan just like Netflix did with this this one.
I am sitting here looking for criticism but simply can't find it. Weather there is none or that the great moments just out shine the downfalls to the point of me not paying attention to them. Either way it is a absolute favorite. And something I have rewatched every month or two and enjoy just as much as the time before.
The Last of Us (2023)
Totally worth it!
To start I have never played the video game this series is based in. With that being said this show got me hooked right away. The story line and how they created the whole world was done perfectly. The emotion in the acting was very believable and got me into what was going on even more.
I watched the whole first season in two nights and within seconds of the last episode ending I was on google looking when season two would be here. Can't wait to see what they bring to this world. As someone who hasn't played the game like I said it left me in a cliff hanger and honestly think that makes it better then knowing what possibly is to come.
Dune: Part One (2021)
Got me into a whole new world
This movie got me into a whole new world. I mean that as I enjoyed the movie so much that I decided to check out the book. I listening to it in audio book form and fell in love. After that I started looking into all kinds of other audio books in the same genre. Did I mention I had never listened to a audio book before and hadn't read a book since high school. This changed my life in many ways.
To the movie itself, they really paid homage to the book but still made it wonderful for the screen. I personally think all of the actors fit their characters perfectly. The effects and all of the scenery from start to finish really made the whole world come to life. If someone isn't into this genre this is the movie I tell them to watch to try and change their mind.
