Disappointing episode
Just-A-Girl-1425 April 2019
The reviews on this series in general aren't the best but I always found it to be a good quality show. With that said, this episode was quite disappointing! Andy in particular was acting like a child mumbling insults in Spanish in front of her new captain as if he was an idiot. Same goes for everyone else, their behavior during this episode felt very unprofessional. There was no sense of urgency saving the life of the boy and the characters seemed more occupied with their own soap operas nonsense. I thought it was a great idea to bring a new captain to the station instead of choosing between Andy and Jack. It seemed needed giving the teams insubordination during several past incidents. At first, bending the rules, felt justified but now it seemed they were doing it with no good reason. I was expecting the new captain to be tough on them, teach them rules are there for a reason, that even though they are good firefighters with experience they don't know it all but the writers skipped a few steps, created holes in the storyline and made it all look stupid. It's a real shame!

Hmmm not sure about this episode!

Warning: Spoilers
The ways it's filmed feels like a soap opera, greys feels more gritty visually. Also they were chatting about relationships whilst on an emergency call and it just didn't feel like there was any urgency...a child had fallen into a manhole and the two women were chatting casually whilst getting equipment out of the rig!!!

First, probably last, time watching

Followed this episode only because it continued a storyline begun on Grey's Anatomy. I was surprised how poor the writing/direction were. There were long scenes without any drama and with little point. The scenes set at Grey Sloan Hospital accentuated the deficiencies; we're used to seeing these actors with much more to work from in terms of both situations and script. Maybe it just doesn't compare well with the caliber of material usually on display on Grey's. But it does make me wonder how this series got picked up for a second season.
