The Northfield Minnesota Raid: Anatomy of a Scene (2013)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Walter Hill, James Keach and Robert Carradine are the focus of this featurette, which takes a look at the wonderful ending to THE LONG RIDERS. If you've seen the film then you know it's impossible to forget it as there's just so much great action, bloody gunshots and of course that legendary scene with the horses going through the store. All of that is discussed here as Hill goes into nice detail about some of the issues people have had with the ending including how many times the men were shot. Also discussed are the camera set-ups during that window sequence. All in all this was a highly entertaining featurette that does a great job at explaining the scene and telling some great stories about how it all went down.
