Frank Grillo has had quite an interesting film career. Appearing in various roles since the 90s, 2011 saw him breaking out in both Warrior and The Grey. Following an appearance in the MCU as Crossbones, Grillo started to find his niche in the action genre. Now, he’s prepping to join the DC film world as Rick Flagg Sr in Creature Commandos as well as Season 2 of Peacemaker. His latest film, Long Gone Heroes, sees Grillo rescuing his niece from a hostage situation in Venezuela. Given the insanity going on in that country, it’s a very modern story, and you can check out my glowing review.

Loose lips sink ships, but Frank Grillo still sails the superhero seas after hitting rough waters with Marvel Studios on multiple occasions. Speaking with Comicbook.com for his upcoming film Long Gone Heroes, Grillo spoke about joining DC’s Creature Commandos, where he plays Rick Flag Sr. The animated monster mash launches DC Studios‘ new direction for the Dcu, and the studio is serious about keeping spoilers under wraps. Grillo, who plays Brock Rumlow (Crossbones) in the MCU, has an unfortunate habit of unintentionally breaking the rules and was almost fired by Marvel 36 times for opening his mouth too wide. With Creature Commandos rising from the grave in December, DC wants to ensure Grillo doesn’t spill any beans before sharing the series with fans.
When asked if he could share any details about Creature Commandos, Grillo paused before carefully wording his response, saying, “You know, unfortunately, there’s nothing I...

It started with the social media speculation. “Natty or Not?” people asked, questioning whether Hugh Jackman could possibly have avoided taking steroids to produce the eye-popping physique on display in “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Being “natty” — meaning, natural — seemed important to Jackman, 55, who has repeatedly denied using any chemical or hormone enhancements to create the gleaming sharp cuts in his abdomen, and the veins rippling around his muscled arms as “Wolverine.”
The Internet, as usual, was skeptical.
“Steroids. It’s steroids,” influencer Noam Blum wrote on X. “I don’t know why everyone still insists on this weird industry-wide denial. It’s fine. This isn’t a professional sports competition. Steroids aren’t illegal. They all do it with steroids.”
Blum’s reply had 26.4 million views as of Wednesday.
Wolverine is a superhero and needs to look like one. But Jackman was dramatically less ripped when he first played the character in 2000’s “X-Men.

7 Actors Who Have Played Multiple Roles In The MCU(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Late Saturday night, Robert Downey Jr. shocked fans when he took the stage at the San Diego Comic-Con and revealed he would be playing Doctor Doom. The Oppenheimer star, who played Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, for over a decade, will now portray the villainous Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom, in the upcoming Avengers film.
After explosive reactions from fans worldwide, confusion set in. Fans were left wondering how a star ubiquitously known as the hero Iron Man in the MCU could now play a villain in the same franchise. While theories came flooding in, including speculation about Robert Downey Jr. Playing an evil Tony Stark variant (via Forbes), it should be noted that this is not the first time an actor has portrayed multiple roles in the MCU.

Frank Grillo was sorely underutilised in the MCU. After first playing Brock Rumlow for a memorable supporting turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he returned as Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War...and immediately died.
The actor got a cameo in Avengers: Endgame and has lent his voice to What If...?, but it's looking like he'll have much more to do in the Dcu.
After being cast as Rick Flag Sr. in DC Studios' animated Creature Commandos, it's been confirmed today that Grillo will make the leap to live-action and reprise the role in Peacemaker season 2.
"Pleased to announce the great [Frank Grillo] will be reprising the role of Rick Flag, Sr - the role he’ll first play in animated form in 'Creature Commando's - throughout Season 2 of 'Peacemaker,'" DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn said on Instagram. "Christopher Smith and Rick Sr have a little unfinished business to take care of.

Millions of people have seen Chris Perfetti’s work. Over the past decade, he’s starred in the lauded mini-series “The Night Of,” “Looking,” “In the Dark” and was a series regular on “Crossbones.” But, for the most part, Perfetti has lived in relative anonymity. That is beginning to change with his role as the somewhat awkward but adorable Jacob Hill in Quinta Brunson‘s critically acclaimed ABC comedy, “Abbott Elementary.”

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ death last Thursday on the set of Rust is the latest in a long list of camera crew members who have been killed on the job, making camera work far and away the most dangerous work in Hollywood, more deadly than even stunts.
In the last 10 years, four members of camera teams have been killed on the set in the US – twice the number of stunt fatalities.
Camera crews work directly in front of the action, with nothing but their cameras between them and a speeding car, train or bullet. They’ve been killed in airplane and helicopter crashes; washed overboard and drowned in the ocean; struck and killed by a runaway stunt car; and crushed to death in a camera truck rollover.

Particular Crowd, the fledgling U.S.-based film division from WarnerMedia’s Turner Latin America, has nabbed all Latin American rights to Argentine filmmaker Marcos Carnevale’s latest film, the dramedy “El Cuartito.”
Shot and produced entirely in Puerto Rico, “El Cuartito” refers to the security screening room that five Latinos are confined in when they run afoul of U.S. immigration authorities at Puerto Rico’s San Juan airport. Donald J. Trump was still president when film was made so his portrait hangs on the wall of the tiny room and is a key prop in the dramedy. Whenever Marvel tend to introduce a more obscure villain into their cinematic universe, more often than not they’ve ranked as some of the weakest antagonists in the franchise’s history. Thor: The Dark World‘s Malekith, Ant-Man‘s Yellowjacket and Doctor Strange‘s Kaecilus, in particular, stand out as three of the worst, and there’s a lot of people who have never heard of Black Widow‘s Taskmaster before, meaning the movie has a lot of work to do in order to establish him as a serious threat.
However, star O.T. Fagbenle is the sort of charismatic rising talent that the studio have built their ensemble on, and there’s been rumors that not only will Taskmaster be the latest bad guy that Tony Stark was inadvertently responsible for creating, but the post-credits scene could set him up for a recurring role in the future.

With the notable exception of a couple of Phase One missteps like Terrence Howard’s Rhodey and Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner, Marvel Studios have generally been right on the money when it comes to casting in their shared universe, from the marquee superheroes right down to the minor supporting players.
However, the sprawling nature of the franchise means that there have been plenty of characters over the years that fans would love to see more of, but they’ve never been given the chance despite the almost limitless crossover potential of the McU. One name that seemed tailor-made for his role in the long-running comic book series was Frank Grillo, who appeared in two Captain America movies and Avengers: Endgame but was never afforded the opportunity to show what he could really bring to the table as either Brock Rumlow or his costumed alter-ego Crossbones.

Frank Grillo perhaps isn’t one of the most recognizable faces in the McU, but he’s nevertheless appeared in three movies in the franchise. He debuted as Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, before transforming into Crossbones for the opening sequence of Captain America: Civil War. He then returned for a brief cameo, thanks to time travel, in Avengers: Endgame. The Purge star had ambitions for a bigger role in the Marvel universe, too, having his sights set on playing the Punisher.
Grillo was even a pretty popular choice to get the part with fans if there was another Punisher movie. However, he’s now officially ruled himself out of the race. Not only that, but it seems he has no interest in reprising Crossbones in the McU, either. While speaking to Uproxx, the actor admitted that he’s “outgrowing” superhero movies and now wishes to concentrate...

Chris Pratt has spent most of the last decade in the once-unlikely position as one of Hollywood’s biggest breakout movie stars. However, despite a budding big-budget backlog, the A-lister is also planning a return to the medium on which he got his start: television.
This past February, Pratt signed on for a television project titled The Terminal List, on which he’ll serve as headlining star and executive producer. The project, which adapts the conspiracy thriller novel of the same name by Jack Carr, will see Pratt joined behind the camera by Antoine Fuqua, who is set to direct and executive-produce the pilot. The gig facilitates a reunion, due to Pratt’s co-starring role in Fuqua’s 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven. With the key creative ducks in their proverbial row, the project now has a platform.

There’s an oft-used phrase in the comic book industry, which declares that, in a universe teeming with costumed crusaders and larger-than-life villains, no one really dies… save for Uncle Ben and Bruce Wayne’s parents. And even that’s not set in stone.
So when McU Cosmic relays news of a potential second coming (or should that be third?) for Brock Rumlow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (last seen in Avengers: Endgame), we’re inclined to stand up and take notice.
On this week’s edition of McU CosmicCast, Jeremy Conrad hinted that Marvel Studios is openly discussing the possibility of Frank Grillo reprising the role of Crossbones in the not-so-distant future. Conrad goes on to stipulate that said return may well align with the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, given the sequel’s promise of alternate realities. The first footage from Marvel's Loki TV series on Disney+ reveals an unexpected and obscure Marvel team will be part of the story.
For the geeks of the world, few Super Bowl commercials got us more hyped than Marvel’s Disney+ ad featuring the first three shows that continue the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Much of the ad is based around Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision, but there’s a brief stinger about the Loki TV show. That makes sense, since it’s obviously not nearly as far along as the other two, what with them just announcing Owen Wilson being part of the cast.
Anyway, if you aren’t caught up, watch this snazzy trailer right here.

When you’re dealing with characters such as Captain America who have many, many decades of history in the comics backing them up, it’s not like there’ll ever be a shortage of villains/supporting characters to choose from when making the movies. As such, we’ve already seen folks like Red Skull, Bucky Barnes, Arnim Zola, the Falcon and more show up over the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But if there’s one Cap-related character who many feel got over-looked, it’s without a doubt Crossbones, who was played by Frank Grillo in the McU. First introduced simply as Brock Rumlow, a sleeper agent of Hydra, in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, his screentime was unfortunately reduced when he finally became Crossbones a few years later in Civil War. And, of course, he was then killed off in the opening salvo.

IMDb is always going to be a dubious source for casting details, especially for a film that’s had as many fake rumors and leaks as Avengers: Endgame, but until the next big Marvel Studios reveal comes our way, surely there’s no harm in seeing what curious and unexpected characters are reportedly making an appearance in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel.
Since IMDb pages can be edited by the public, there’s always the possibility that certain actors have been included based on the assumptions and theories of fans. The mention of Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, for instance, might well be inspired by the hint dropped by producer Michael Grillo a few months ago that Doctor Strange’s old mentor will be coming back, though her return sounds likely either way. And, of course, he met his demise in the opening salvo.

Netflix actioner Point Blank, a remake of 2010 French film, teams Marvel movie stars Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo.
Point Blank, an upcoming Netflix movie, will showcase the onscreen, high-impact buddy-actioner team-up of Avenger Falcon and unscrupulous assassin Crossbones – well, the actors who played them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, anyway, Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo.
The film is a remake of the 2010 film of the same name (À Bout Portant), touting the novel idea that its protagonist – in the case of the American remake, an ER nurse (Mackie) – is not some untouchable badass slayer of hapless goons, but just an ordinary person who’s thrust into some deadly circumstances when on the run, joined by an injured murder suspect (Grillo).

Well, he already has the bald head and mustache for it: John Malkovich is set to play iconic detective Hercule Poirot in Amazon’s upcoming Agatha Christie adaptation The ABC Murders, according to our sister site Variety.
Malkovich will play the famed Belgian detective in the three-part series, based on Christie’s 1936 novel, in which Poirot hunts for a serial killer known only as “A.B.C.” He’s joined in the cast by Harry Potter veteran Rupert Grint, who’ll co-star as Inspector Crome. The supporting ensemble includes Andrew Buchan (Broadchurch), Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks: The Return) and Tara Fitzgerald...

There’s been a fundamental shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It began with the release of Thor: Ragnarok in November 2017, and gained a great deal of momentum in February 2018, when Black Panther arrived in cinemas. As of May 2018, however, it has reached something of a crescendo with the release of Avengers: Infinity War.
Is it emotional depth to which I refer? Perhaps the representation of those other white men, both in front of and behind the camera? Not this time. This time, I’m talking about villains. Much as we love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s historically fumbled the ball when it comes to those with nefarious agendas. Previously, McU baddies have been mildly unsettling – with a slight hint of intimidation, and the tiniest drop of menace. Where we’ve needed true evil, we’ve generally been left wanting.
Sure, Obadiah Stane of 2008’s Iron Man, and Red...

Just days after it was revealed that the The Crown's lead actress, Claire Foy, was paid less than her male counterpart, Matt Smith, for the series' first two seasons, the actress is speaking out about the headline-making story. "I'm surprised because I'm at the center of it, and anything that I’m at the center of like that is very very odd, and feels very very out of ordinary," Claire told Entertainment Weekly. "But I’m not [surprised about the interest in the story] in the sense that it was a female-led drama. I’m not surprised that people saw [the story] and went, 'Oh, that’s a bit odd.' But I know that Matt feels the same that I do, that it’s odd to find yourself at the center [of a story] that you didn’t particularly ask for," she continued. A few days ago, The Crown's producers publicly apologized to Claire and Matt for their pay disparity.
