It sounds crazy at first, but what if Halloween III: Season of the Witch really was part of the Michael Myers timeline?
Released in 1982, Halloween III: Season of the Witch is famously the only film in the Halloween franchise without Michael Myers. The movie shifted gears to tell a standalone story, one rooted in science fiction and folk horror rather than the slasher violence Myers embodies. But some fans have theorised that Season of the Witch could actually tie into Michael Myers’ story—if we imagine that the film’s Silver Shamrock corporation helped create the unkillable monster we know today. And it’s not as impossible as it might sound.
This theory, which emerged online in recent years, has reenergised fans of Season of the Witch and sparked discussions about how far the Halloween mythos could stretch. What if Michael’s superhuman resilience and relentless desire to kill had...

‘One Tree Hill’ Star Bethany Joy Lenz Reveals Details About The Decade She Spent In A Christian Cult
One Tree Hill actress Bethany Joy Lenz has revealed more shocking details of the years in a cult while she filmed the hit TV show for nine seasons.
Lenz remembered her cast’s reaction to her experience of the highly controlled cult.
In an August episode of Lenz’s podcast Drama Queens, Lenz disclosed details about her time in the controlling ultra-religious group for the first time: “I was in a cult for ten years… ten years of recovery after that. So there’s a lot to tell.”

She recalled, “In a lot of ways, One Tree Hill saved my life because I was there nine months out of the year in North Carolina. I had a lot of flying back and forth, a lot of people visiting, and things like that, but...

One Tree Hill dominated in the early early 2000s. It premiered with its first episode in 2003 and continued for nine seasons. Shows never land that many seasons unless they’re really good! Over the years, One Tree Hill has been compared to other teen dramas like Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Dawson’s Creek.
One actress who took a leading role in the show was Bethany Joy Lenz. She played Haley James Scott, a teenage girl who somehow got along with the unpopular crowd and the popular crowd. In real life, Bethany‘s world wasn’t always super peachy. It turns out, she was involved with a problematic cult. She felt stuck in it until she was able to come up with an escape plan. These are the details.

Sarah Paulson has been a mainstay on Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story anthology series since her recurring role in the first season of the FX show in 2011, retroactively dubbed Murder House.
While promoting her new Hulu thriller Hold Your Breath, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts asked if she would return to the horror franchise again.
“I think there is a big chance that I will return to American Horror Story,” Paulson said. “I’ve got everything crossed. I would like to do it more than anything. It’s my home. It’s where I started.”
She continued, “I got to play, you know, seven different characters in seven years, which as an actor is the most exciting, thrilling thing, and also allows an audience to be ready for anything you’re going to do because they’re not attached to one thing that you do, specifically. That has...

Cult of Luna‘s cover of Refused‘s epic “Tannhäuser/Derive” has been released.
The track is the first single from the previously announced Refused tribute album The Shape of Punk to Come Obliterated — a re-imagining of the band’s iconic 1998 album. It’s set to drop November 8th as part of a deluxe box set via Epitaph (pre-order here).

Twelve bands were approached to “rearrange or deconstruct” a song, and fellow Swedes Cult of Luna were an apt choice for the project, taking on the expansive “Tannhäuser/Derive.”
The original song contrasts haunting instrumental sections with bursts of acerbic hardcore. However, in the hands of Cult of Luna, the instrumental sections are transposed as lush post-rock meditations, and the harsh hardcore becomes tectonic sludge metal.
“I hate covers and I usually am very reluctant to spend any time listening to one band playing another band’s songs,...

When Ryan Reynolds became sure that Blake Lively was the one after they had ‘sex’ (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are two of Hollywood’s beloved and heart-throbbing couples, and they are known for their playful and loving relationship. The couple first met on the sets of Green Lantern in 2010 and got married in 2012. Since then, they’ve shared four children and have become known for their witty banter and teasing on social media.
Despite their fame, the couple keeps much of their family life away from the public eye. While their fans always crave to learn about their love story, the Deadpool star once opened up about when he knew Gossip Girl was the one for him.
In a throwback interview with GQ, Ryan Reynolds was asked when he knew he fell for Lively. To this, Ryan Reynolds replied, “Probably after the sex.” Although he corrected himself,...

Branding is central to Ryan Murphy’s TV empire, but the brand names themselves can often feel a little fungible.
Take Murphy’s output in this current two-week period: FX’s American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez absolutely could have been renamed Hernandez: Monster — The Aaron Hernandez Story. Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story probably could have been Feud: The Menendez Family. I haven’t seen ABC’s Doctor Odyssey, but all promotion indicates that it’s 9-1-1: Love Boat.
On that shifting scale, FX’s Grotesquerie could easily have had the American Horror Story name appended in front of it. With hints of Cult, Coven and Asylum immediately evident, it looks to take almost an everything bagel approach to the signatures of that series.
After only two episodes (none were made available for critics ahead of the premiere), it’s too early to tell...

On November 18, 1978, 918 members of Jim Jones’ Peoples Temple cult died in Jonestown, Guyana, in the single largest loss of American civilian lives in a deliberate act before 9/11. From the moment media coverage of the massacre began, much of the reporting has characterized the event as a “mass suicide,” in which people willingly drank cyanide-laced Flavor Aid when their leader instructed them to do so.
The reality of what transpired was far more nuanced — as was life in Jonestown since establishment of the failed utopian community in 1974.

Not much is publicly known about Robert Shinn, the elusive and mysterious founder of 7M Films and the pastor of Shekinah Church – as seen in Netflix docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult. Indeed, Shinn seems to prefer to stick to the background and let the talent assembled by his agency get all of the attention.
Founded by Shinn and son Isaiah Shinn, 7M Films is not the biggest talent agency in the world, or the most successful, but it might be one of the most viral. 7M traditionally has not been looking to boost working actors to new heights, but to tap into a talented community of self-motivated dancers, singers, musicians, and performers who have the skills necessary to go viral on TikTok with a little help from 7M. However, viral videos and brand partnerships aren’t Robert Shinn’s first attempt at getting a taste of Hollywood glory.

For years, the Wilking sisters were inseparable. Passionate about dance since childhood, Miranda and Melanie found success as a duo on social media, raking in millions of TikTok followers and lucrative brand partnerships. In 2019, however, Miranda started spending more time with members of the church-affiliated talent-management company that represented her, pulling away from her close-knit family. Eventually, she cut off contact with them, leading her loved ones to believe there was more happening behind the scenes.
Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, a new documentary series directed by Derek Doneen, tells Miranda’s story — and the story of many other dancers who, like her, ended up ensnared in the Los Angeles-based 7M Films management company under owner Robert Shinn. Melanie Wilking and the sisters’ parents, Kelly and Dean, made waves in 2022 when they publicly suggested 7M was a cult and that Miranda was being manipulated and...

Netflix’s docuseries exposes a sexually abusive church pastor and a cult in perhaps the most unexpected place — TikTok.
“Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult” follows a group of TikTok dancers who believe they are in a talent management company called 7M. The doc focuses on Miranda Wilking, a member who’s estranged from her family that’s desperately trying to get her out.
The 7M leader is Robert Shinn, a self-proclaimed “man of God” who is a pastor at an invite-only church called Shekinah. However, he uses his power to prey upon his members and abuses them verbally, emotionally and psychically. Members who escaped 7M shared their stories of heartbreak and grief under the leader in the doc. One former member, Priscylla Lee, currently has a lawsuit against Shinn and other Shekinah members.

The first episode of Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult opens with a family making a video and telling the people about what they had gone through and how helpless they felt. Melanie Wilking, together with her parents, Dean and Kelly, put it out on social media that her sister, Miranda Wilking, was brainwashed by a cult run by Robert Shinn and that they hadn’t been in touch for a long time. It all started when the “Wilking Sisters” started their own TikTok channel, and they garnered a lot of popularity and a huge fan following. They worked hard, followed their passion, and showcased their skills, and slowly, the follower count started to increase. They started doing collaborations with a lot of famous social media personalities, and among them was an influencer named James “Bdash” Derrick. James made the Wilking sisters meet his friend Isaiah, who was...

Netflix seems to dominate the documentary scene with its banger docs attracting the attention of millions around the world. You can recall the recent success of What Jennifer Did, the shocking film that reigned supreme in the platform’s chart for weeks.
More than that, these days the top is dominated by another doc, Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal, and it even managed to dethrone Netflix’s biggest hit of 2024 so far, Baby Reindeer. It all makes the documentary coming to the platform much more anticipated.
The upcoming movie revolves around Miranda Derrick, a dancer whose hype on social media is hard to overestimate. While her viral videos and sleek photos gain millions of likes on TikTok and Instagram, her life behind the camera seems to be much darker than those images.

98 years walking on this earth and over 70 of those working in the industry that he and we all love. How do you talk about a man who had his hands in everything and gave us so much? He was an honorary Oscar winner and heavily involved in the Academy itself. He gave us New Concorde and New World Pictures. Roger Corman was a master of the independent and low budget film and known lovingly as the King of Cult. He gave countless actors, writers, and directors their start and was still making appearances right up to his passing. Theres so much to go over but I think that the best way to honor the man is to bring this video in on time and underbudget, bonus Corman points if we can re-use some of the footage from this one in another one of our videos. To the uninitiated, the "Halloween" franchise is just a slasher series. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. A masked maniac with a big knife wandering around different settings, cutting down anyone unfortunate enough to get in their way. Sure, while that might be true for John Carpenter's classic original, the series would grow increasingly odd and incredulous as the years went on.
As of this writing, there are four different "Halloween" timelines featuring Michael Myers. It starts with the original timeline, including the orignal "Halloween" from 1978, its sequel "Halloween II," the legacy sequel "Halloween H20," and "Halloween: Resurrection." Then, of course, is the colloquial Cult of Thorn timeline, which also includes those first two movies, followed by then "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers," "Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers," and "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.

‘AHS: Delicate’ enters early labor with a fun, frenzied episode that finds the perfect tone and goes for broke as its water breaks.
“I’ll figure it out. Women always do.”
American Horror Story is no stranger to remixing real-life history with ludicrous, heightened Murphy-isms, whether it’s AHS: 1984’s incorporation of Richard Ramirez, AHS: Cult’s use of Valerie Solanas, or AHS: Coven’s prominent role for the Axeman of New Orleans. Accordingly, it’s very much par for the course for AHS: Delicate to riff on other pop culture touchstones and infinitely warp them to its wicked whims. That being said, it takes real guts to do a postmodern feminist version of Rosemary’s Baby and then actually put Mia Farrow – while she’s filming Rosemary’s Baby, no less – into the narrative. This is the type of gonzo bullshit that I want out of American Horror Story!

We’ve had plenty of Lovecraftian cult simulators, so leave it to a developer like Crazy Goat Games to come up with a Lovecraftian city builder. Worshippers of Cthulhu is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game will launch in Early Access in later this year, followed by a full release across all platforms in 2025.
According to the devs, since Cthulhu “tolerates nothing less than perfection”, the game will head to Early Access in order to deliver a “polished and immersive experience,” with the plan to “allow players to spend much more time with the game and go even deeper into the Cthulhu and city-building mechanics.”
As you might of expected, the story for Worshippers of Cthulhu has you leading the eponymous cult, with the goal of guiding your flock towards the ultimate goal of awakening Cthulhu. Every decision rests upon your shoulders; will...

Update: An Instagram announcement by Bethany Joy Lenz today revealed that her upcoming memoir will be titled Dinner for Vampires. The book details her decade in a cult while working on the hit TV show One Tree Hill.
“Being a writer has been a great, private joy in my life since I was about 12,” she wrote on Instagram. “This isn’t the first book I thought I’d write, publicly, but as difficult as this subject matter could be to untangle, I’m grateful I get to share my story, my way. It’s a story of forgiveness and a roadmap to how manipulation works, with a heartache and humor along the way. We all make mistakes and I hope Dinner for Vampires reminds you that, no matter what weird roads you’ve gone down, you’re not alone.”
The book is planned for an Oct. 22 release via Simon & Schuster.

Glen Powell is the latest heartthrob of Hollywood after his hunky avatar in Top Gun: Maverick followed by the romantic comedy Anyone But You. His s*xy charm and chemistry with Sydney Sweeney was a defining factor in the film becoming a big success at the box office.

Even if one doesn't watch Ryan Murphy's and Brad Falchuk's "American Horror Story," one is likely familiar with the show's amazing ad campaign. Soon beginning its twelfth season, "American Horror Story" has always sported surrealist original artworks that only vaguely allude to the content of the series. The first season saw a pregnant woman and a man in a full-body vinyl outfit suspended in an all-red room. The third season, "Coven" featured a snake passing between the lips of three women standing close together. The fifth season, "Hotel," used an eyeless human face made of mattress panels, a key spearing its cheeks. The seventh season, "Cult," sported a woman with an elongated tongue.
The latest season, "Delicate," continued with the tradition by depicting the season's stars, Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian, and Cara Delevigne, handling outsize spiders in vaguely pregnancy-themed tableaus. By FX's own description, "Delicate" is about...

Now available for consoles and PC, Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre pulls inspiration from Tobe Hooper’s original classic for a multiplayer horror game (read our review), featuring Leatherface alongside both new and classic villains from the original movie. The actor who did the motion capture work for Leatherface in the game? Kane Hodder!
This is insanely cool casting for multiple reasons, one of which is that Hodder actually did Leatherface stunt work back in the ’90s for New Line’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.
Kane Hodder was the third film’s stunt coordinator, which led to him actually playing the role of Leatherface for several scenes. R.A. Mihailoff is credited as Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, but from what we gather, Hodder did many of the stunts and action scenes.

We might have more information about the upcoming season of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story than we usually do at this point pre-premiere. Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has joined the cast of Season 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Emma Roberts, who previously starred in five seasons will be back. While character details have yet to be released, according to the report, Kardashian’s was “specifically written with her in mind.” Kardashian shared a video — one similar to previous AHS casting announcements — on Instagram teasing the news just before the news broke confirming her appearance. This comes after it was previously said that Matt Czuchry, whose Fox drama The Resident was canceled earlier this month, will be part of the new season. Again, no character information is out just yet. “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,...

Content warning: This post contains mentions of emotional and psychological abuse.
"Stolen Youth," Hulu's new docuseries that explores Larry Ray's reign of psychological terror over a group of Sarah Lawrence college students, is extremely difficult to watch. The three-part series, released on Feb. 8, contains many real videos taken during the students' time living with Ray, and many feature verbal and physical abuse.
The story of what would become known as the "cult at Sarah Lawrence" first broke when The Cut published an exposé in 2019. It detailed how Ray had moved into his daughter Talia's dorm at Sarah Lawrence, quickly developing a hold over her roommates by regaling them with self-improvement advice. He claimed his knowledge was drawn from his years in the Marines, but Ray had lied about that - along with many other aspects of his life.
Anyone who followed the story in 2019 knows what happened next.

Sarah Paulson is nominated for an Emmy for her role as Linda Tripp in “Impeachment: American Crime Story” — the sole acting nod for the FX series — but could it be her last time in the anthology? The fourth season, rumored to be focused on “Studio 54,” is in the works.
“I’m sort of in this very interesting place where I’ve taken the last year off, which has been wild. Believe me, don’t think I don’t know what a privileged place it is to sit in and know that I can take a year off and still be able to live my life and not in a fearful way and that is a real really lucky thing,” she says. “I’ve said no to some things, which is a wildly new thing. I think the shows are always extraordinarily well-crafted and things I’ve always been so proud to be part of.

We finally have news about American Horror Story Season 11! The new season of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology will premiere in the fall, FX chairman John Landgraf announced during his virtual executive session at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. That puts it on track to premiere about a year after Season 10 ended — and fittingly, just in time for Halloween. The first five seasons premiered in October, the next four in September, and the 10th in August. As a result, that last one was the only one not to air new episodes around Halloween (with the finale on October 20). We are still waiting for any details about what Season 11 will entail. So far, the first 10 seasons have been titled Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, and Double Feature, with the occasional crossover. What we do know is that it won’t be the last.

Emergence from pandemic lockdowns and the promise of in-person festivals has excitement brewing for the future of film, and the genre industry is no exception. The official selection of the 2022 Frontières Platform at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes is in, and it displays bullish trends for the future of genre.
“There’s a lot of horror, and it kind of goes back to practical effects, and I love that,” says Frontières executive director Annick Mahnert. “Practical effects are coming back, which is great.”
Highlighting this trend is potential standout “Gnomes!” from the Netherlands, a horror film about gnomes who murder curious humans and turn them into sausage while they’re still alive. The film boasts producer and art department master Richard Raaphorst (“Frankenstein’s Army”), who brought the gnomes to life.
Other possible standouts of practical effects are “Requiem for a Robot, “Street Trash” and “Serial Kitten,” which blends costumes and CGI.
