- After the murder of much-loved community leader Elmore Gregory, Dante Morgan steps forward to identify the shooter as a gang leader, Terence Jones, also known as Little T. On the night before the trial, Dante leaves his police protected hotel room and is found dead the next day in a gang-ridden neighborhood with "snitch" written on his forehead. With the main witness out of the way, the only other evidence against Jones was obtained using information from one of Vince Korsak's confidential informants. When Vince says he can't produce him for the court, the judge gives the prosecution 48 hours of the case will be dismissed. Meanwhile, TV's Bill O'Reilly is in Boston to cover Little T's trial. Jane's mother Angela is a big fan and at a book signing she gives him Jane's cellphone number.—garykmcd
- Korsak and Jane prep Dante Morgan, the sole daring witness to the murder of community activist Elmore Gregory, who is lured from the hotel and murdered himself the night before his trial. Star TV reporter Bill O'Reilly covers Jane's case, to eager fan Angela's delight, and she pushes Maura to attend his book signing and abuse her police badge to jump the cue. ADA Valerie Delgado demands an I.A.B report on the unformed officer who was guarding him, Jane refuses. The defense of gangster boss Little T, who ordered the killing of nearly 15 people, can get the charges dropped, unless Korsak presents in court his C.I., but he dares not even identify his witness to the team, nor with his job at stake. Jane and Frost find out that Dante had a girlfriend Relita and a daughter Destiny, whose name is tattooed on his shoulder. Angela gives O'Reilly Jane's number to get her on his show The Factor. Korsak's C.I. is identified and agrees to show up to court to save the case. Finding out by entomology where Dante was murdered, the team find tire tracks, leading to Dante's surprising murderer, who loses everything.—KGF Vissers
