Early-aughts dance rock greats the Scissor Sisters may be gearing up for some kind of return after going on hiatus in 2012.
It’s extremely unclear what exactly is going on at the moment, though the band’s primary social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, and X) have all been updated to feature images of what look like television static. There’s mailing list fans can sign up for, as well.
Somewhat more telling was the sudden appearance of the Scissor Sisters’ logo on the facade of the Co-op Live arena in Manchester,...

Video Vision used to be a video rental store back in the golden era of physical media. Now Rodney and Kibby struggle to keep it open, repairing old VHS decks and transferring tapes to digital.
As the film opens, Kibby has fielded calls from Creepy Phil (Christopher Bligh) about transferring footage of his old public access cable show to disc, from Gator who wants to convert some tapes of their father’s band, and dealt with the delivery of an extremely heavy, and odoriferous, VHS player with no return address. Being three months behind on the rent, they can’t afford to turn any customers down, even Creepy Phil.
Complications ensue when Gator turns out to be a trans man whom Kibby finds herself attracted to. Even more problems arise when she cuts...

Based in West Los Angeles, the company will also focus on launching Jackson’s action comedy film and TV career. Heading development for Rampage ‘n J is VP Kylie Lewis, a former creative exec at DC. During her time there, the USC film school alum worked on the John Cena series Peacemaker and upcoming The Penguin with Colin Farrell for Max.
Silverman explained that he first approached Jackson back in 2018 with the idea of doing an antibullying show for kids called Rampage to the Rescue, in which Jackson and a child psychologist travel to and remedy bullying situations throughout the U.S.

Exclusive: We have learned that Bruce Willis and John Travolta are starring together again for the first time in 27 years in the Chuck Russell-directed action pic Paradise City. Production starts this Monday in Maui, Hawaii.
Willis plays renegade bounty hunter, Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who murdered his father. I’m told the project is billed as being similar to Miami Vice but with bounty hunters instead of cops. Thai actress and model Praya Lundberg has landed the lead female role.
Though Paradise City technically reps the fourth time that Willis and Travolta are billed on a movie together, they only worked onscreen in the 1994 Oscar-winning $214M-grossing Quentin Tarantino movie Pulp Fiction respectively as boxer Butch Coolidge and mob guy Vincent Vega. Check out their scene below from that pic. Prior to that...

Most actors are lucky if they manage to play one iconic role throughout their entire career, with Sylvester Stallone one of the very few that has two cinematic legends to his name. The 74 year-old’s performances as both Rocky Balboa and John Rambo cover thirteen movies and over 40 years, and now the headband-wearing Vietnam veteran has joined the Italian Stallion in being immortalized as a landmark.
Stallone recently revealed that two massive Rambo statues had been erected in Hope, the tiny Canadian town where the vast majority of the character’s first outing in 1982 action classic First Blood was shot. For a town with a population that’s only a little over 6,000, Hope has proved to be a very popular location for Hollywood productions over the years with actioners like Shoot to Kill, romances Hope Springs and Fire with Fire, family films White Fang II and A Dog’s Way Home...

Olivia Pope's on-screen relationship with Fitz Grant on Scandal may have been . . . well, complicated, but Kerry Washington's relationship with her Irl husband Nnamdi Asomugha seems far more adorable than deplorable. Kerry is notorious private when it comes to her marriage and family, and though she and Nnamdi are rarely photographed or even seen together, the two tied the knot all the way back in 2013. According to the Daily News, the couple met after Nnamdi went with a mutual friend to see Kerry perform in Race on Broadway, and Kerry confirmed as much in an October 2018 interview with Marie Claire. "The last time I did theater, it completely transformed my life," she shared. "That's where I met my husband."
So who exactly is Kerry's husband? As well as being a former NFL cornerback who played for the Raiders, the Eagles, and the 49ers, Nnamdi is also a producer and an actor.

Fall is upon us, and so is Hulu’s list of every title coming and going from the streaming service in November.
Among the list of arriving titles is a new episode of Hulu’s original monthly anthology series, “Into the Dark.” November’s episode is called “Pilgrim,” and claims to be inspired by true events — in which a woman invites a bunch of Pilgrim re-enactors over for Thanksgiving dinner. But things get spooky when the “actors” refuse to break character.
Other new arrivals include Season 5 of “You’re the Worst,” described as a modern look at love, the complete first seasons of “Dollface,” about a young woman re-entering the world of women, “The Accident,” which begins with a deadly explosion at a construction site, and “Love Island: Australia,” an answer to the U.K. and U.S. versions of the beloved reality dating show.

Bruce Willis has been creeping up on Nicolas Cage’s bread and butter — C-level action movies that pass through the multiplex with little in the way of fanfare and less in the way of actual audience interest — for a few years now, turning in roles in mostly underseen films like “Fire With Fire,” “Precious Cargo,” and “Vice” with startling regularity (while, somehow, still landing genuinely exciting parts in films like the upcoming “Death Wish” remake and the long-hyped “Glass”). But Mark Cullen’s ruthlessly boring and decidedly dismal “Once Upon a Time in Venice” marks a new low in Willis’ still-trucking action career, one that even Cage would likely flinch at, even if it does feature an entire sequence dedicated to naked skateboarding.

As much as I personally love Arrow, even I had to admit that a few missteps were taken with season 4, just as some of the cast and crew have. That said, it was all the more satisfying to see the daddy of The CW’s shared DC TV universe return to form this year, effectively serving up its best effort since season 2.
Aside from Stephen Amell continuing to be an all-around badass each week, Team Arrow gained some new recruits such as Mr. Terrific, Wild Dog and even a new Black Canary, helping to keep the series feeling fresh. Not only that, but Prometheus made for the best big bad the show’s seen since Deathstroke (who also made his return late in the game), and may have very well been the deadliest, most calculating threat Oliver Queen has encountered to date.
With that, we’re excited to say that...

The stars of yesterday now are making three films a year you never knew existed until they show up on Netflix.^ Real Movie ^
In my prior life as a script reader, I certainly read a lot of bad scripts, but at times, an even more common occurrence was a script that seemed to do a great many things right, but somehow fell just short of being something you wanted to champion as a movie. As draining as the terrible scripts were, there’s something pure about clear-cut bad. It takes little effort to explain why they’re unfit.
The real challenges were the scripts that had kind of a decent premise, kind of an okay twist or two, and a lead character who wasn’t bad so much as he or she was just… there. The raw materials are there for what Could be a script. They just happen to be assembled in the least compelling way...

Imagine if Pulp Fiction’s Jules Winnfield got older, and grumpier, and had to get to a specific location while under fire from potential assassins. Then imagine that any pre-Deadpool Ryan Reynolds character had to get him there. That’s basically what we have in The Hitman’s Bodyguard and, to great surprise, it looks to be exactly the film you’ll need to give your summer a boost.
Directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3), The Hitman’s Bodyguard is the second script from Tom O’Connor (Fire With Fire), and boasts a wider cast that includes Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung (Daredevil), Gary Oldman, and Joaquim de Almeida (Our Brand Is Crisis). The premise is simple – the world’s greatest hitman (Samuel L. Jackson) needs to get to the International Court Of Justice alive, and the world’s greatest bodyguard (Ryan Reynolds) has to get him there. Complications...

5.16 Checkmate
At long last, Arrow season five has cut all the foreplay, faffing about, and stalling to deliver an incredibly satisfying one-on-one bout. As if that wasn’t enough, Checkmate rewarded viewers for investing in the mayoral aspect of the show with an impressive and intense political drama.
No time was wasted catching the characters up to speed following last week’s surprising reveal that Adrian Chase (newcomer to the cast Josh Segarra) wasn’t the surprising new anti-hero to arrive in Star City, Vigilante, as his comic book namesake implied. Instead, he’s the new dark archer in town, Prometheus. Our hero figured it out with a brief trip to...

Just when you thought you had a handle on the villains on Season 5, Arrow threw a big old curveball at viewers while expanding the role of its most interesting newcomer. At long last, the identity of one of the year’s two big bads is revealed, as huge shadows of doubt are cast on the other.
This episode promised to be another big bout with the morally ambiguous anti-hero, Vigilante. Plucked directly from the pages of DC Comics, many Arrow fans have thought they’ve known who the man behind the mask was for quite some time. Wait... so Adrian is Prometheus?
We were blessed with that reveal Arrow Season 5 Episode 15, and I could not be more shocked. Throughout the course of Arrow Season 5, Adrian was seemingly Vigilante.
When Prometheus took the mask off and was revealed to be Adrian, I had to rewind confirm I did, indeed, see him take off the Prometheus mask. Seriously, it was such a thrilling twist and made this season infinitely more intriguing.
The show led us to believe all season long that Adrian was helping Oliver, but he was hiding in plain sight while planning his next move. Additionally, it seemed rather easy to have this Prometheus reveal so soon.
I thought for sure it was going to be dragged kicking and screaming until the end of the season. I like when shows have an element of surprise, but Arrow has been pretty predictable of late. Hopefully, this marks a...

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you have not watched Wednesday’s episode of “Arrow,” titled “Fighting Fire With Fire”) “Arrow” revealed the identity of its Season 5 villain Prometheus Wednesday night, and it was a doozy: Star City District Attorney Adrian Chase is the man behind the hood. This came as a surprise to fans, of course, because most expected Adrian (played by Josh Segarra) to be revealed to be Vigilante, his superhero alter ego in the comic books. “One of the reasons was because we knew everyone would be thinking, ‘of course, he’s Vigilante,'” showrunner Wendy.

Folks, if you're fans of Ryan Reynolds, it's time to celebrate. With Deadpool the man finally had his first solo smash hit. As I touched on in a column on that film's success, while Reynolds is a household name, and has a face recognizable enough to have an entire Super Bowl commercial built around it, he's actually had an extremely flimsy run when it comes to box office success. That all changed when Deadpool came out and started breaking records, finally shattering the actor's tough run. So how will the actor take his victory lap? By inviting Salma Hayek and Elodie Yung to join him, of course.

It’s tough to pinpoint exactly when Bruce Willis stopped giving a shit, mainly because he’s still capable of great work. His tremendous performance in Rian Johnson’s Looper goes a long way to helping cancel out those past few Die Hard sequels, although it’s a bit harder to forgive his phoned-in paycheck jobs in movies like Vice and Fire With Fire. Sometimes, there’s just nothing better than an ‘on-the-run’ movie featuring mis-matched characters and a ticking clock. Presumably, this is the logic behind Hitman’s Bodyguard – an upcoming action movie that has just filled out its primary cast. It is an impressive cast, too – bringing together a trio of actors whose collective filmography includes many of the biggest, most successful films of the past two decades.
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age Of Ultron) will star as an infamous hitman who, it would seem, intends to turn himself over to the authorities and start singing like a proverbial canary. Ryan Reynolds (Safe House) will play the world’s best bodyguard, assigned to protect the hitman, with a 24 hour deadline to get him to the Hague. Matters are complicated by a lengthy history of deep-seated animosity between the two, in addition to the looming, sinister presence of the real villain of the piece,...

2.22 Ashes To Ashes
One of the biggest things The Originals inherited from The Vampire Diaries is an absolute inability to pace itself. Generally speaking, it has an idea, introduces it, gets over-excited and then burns it out within two or three episodes. This is fine, and certainly keeps the interest of viewers who struggle otherwise with a short attention span but, for those of us paying attention, it can be incredibly frustrating.
We began season two with the promise of Esther and Finn back from the dead, for instance, and since then have seen Esther, Finn, Kol, Mikael, Klaus’ biological father, Dahlia and Freya all resurrected from the dead at one point or another. What’s more, they’ve all had a couple of bodies each,...

2.21 Fire With Fire
Episodes like this week’s The Originals are hard to pull off without feeling a bit cheap. It’s all double-bluffs and long-cons, seemingly monumental series-altering events explained and excused away by the fact that a main character only maimed and killed his friends and family for the greater good.
With this show, though, it’s even harder. The episode asks us to believe at different stages that Klaus would go on a murderous rampage, setting love interests on fire and driving an irrevocable wedge between himself and the mother of his child, and believe that he’d go that far to convince Dahlia that he’s on her side. It’s a stretch, especially so because of how much pain we’ve seen Klaus inflict on...

The Originals, Season 2, Episode 21, “Fire With Fire”
Written by Michael Narducci
Directed by David Straiton
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on The CW
On this week’s The Originals, Klaus wreaks havoc on his family and friends, Dahlia brings a thunderstorm to Nola, Hayley and Jackson try to flee, Elijah and Rebekah use Freya to trap Dahlia, and Vincent helps Davina become regent of the city’s witch coven.
“Fire with Fire” is an immense improvement over last week’s lackluster episode, mainly because Klaus’s apparent regression/lack of character development is proven to be a ruse. While Klaus remains a frustratingly fickle and emotional character, “Fire with Fire” is proof not only that Klaus is capable of character growth, but also that the show’s writers have the intention of developing him further. Still, it’ll take a while before he stops being one of the weakest character links on The Originals,...

In this episode of The Originals, "Fire with Fire," Klaus and Dahlia join forces to find Hope. Davina campaigns to become Regent of the nine covens. Rebekah takes a huge risk. And Cami takes on a pivotal role in the battle against Dahlia.
A storm is brewing in the French Quarter, literally and metaphorically. Dahlia's up to no good, and apparently she needs thunder and lightening to make her even more ominous. Yes, she also whips up a nasty squall to keep Jackson and Hayley from going off the grid, but the storm is a nice backdrop for all the drama.

On the heels of the theatrical and VOD debut of Vice last Friday, Bruce Willis is re-teaming with the producers of that sci-fi thriller for another movie called Extraction. This one will similarly shoot in Alabama and similarly sounds like another cheap genre flick suited for a direct-to-video release coupled by good box office overseas. According to Deadline, Willis will play a CIA agent who is kidnapped and has to be rescued by his son, who is also a CIA agent, when the government passes on mounting a mission themselves. Is it just a role-reversed remake of A Good Day to Die Hard? Should they just cast Jai Courtney as the younger spy and some foreign markets can actually retitle it A Good Day to Die Hard 2 on their DVD covers? Extraction will be directed by Steven C. Miller, helmer of the 2012 Silent Night, Deadly Night remake, and is written by someone named Umair Aleem, who...

Remember when Bruce Willis used to make interesting, original movies, like Pulp Fiction, Twelve Monkeys and The Fifth Element? An air of excitement would surround each announcement detailing which project the actor would get involved with next. It’s been some time since that excitement has been felt, however, because Willis has essentially been making the same movie, repeatedly, for years. The next product from that assembly line will be Extraction, directed by Steven C. Miller (Silent Night).
The plot focuses on a father and son duo of – wait for it – CIA agents, with Willis as the seasoned elder operative who is traumatized by the – you guessed it – murder of his wife. His less-experienced CIA operative son is working with him on the manufacture of a super-weapon known as the Condor, but is thrust into the driving seat when his father, Willis, is kidnapped by terrorists. Cranking 'em out like he's behind on a few house payments, Bruce Willis doesn't know a low-budget movie he can say no to. Are you a fan of "Fire With Fire," "The Prince," or "Setup"? Good news: you'll probably like "Vice." And the first trailer is here. Basically a low-budget riff on "I Robot," the story is set in the not-so-distant future where a resort called Vice lets visitors act our their wildest, perviest fantasies. How is it done? With the help of artificial intelligence that looks and acts just like real people. But, uh oh, turns out they have feelings and stuff, and one of them (Ambyr Childers) runs away, causing all sorts of problems, and Thomas Jane's greasy hair has to get involved, and we wish someone would've given some of that clunky dialogue a polish. "Vice" arrives in theaters and on VOD on January 16th. [Vlicious!]...

The cinematic bromance between Bruce Willis and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson continues, with the pair buddying up for cheapie action flicks made in places where there are generous tax credits (it would seem that Fiddy is a savvy producer). And after two movies you already forgot about — "Setup" and "Fire With Fire" — the pair are back with "The Prince." And it's basically a remake of "Taken." John Cusack and Jason Patric co-star in this one about a mechanic whose daughter gets...wait for it....taken, and then he has to do stuff about it. But wait, he's not actually a mechanic! It turns out he's got a special set of skills...stop us if you've heard this before. Shot on location in New Orleans, this looks ready for Redbox and bad drunken decisions, the latter which might also explain why anybody got involved with this thing.
