This was the first episode besides the pilot that felt like it found footing
They could actually handle more than one visitor plot line which is not just like the original...it's just more interesting
It was refreshing to finally have a guy plot line ish. But it was so small and flimsy. The budget was clearly in the female visitor.
And there really is a near every episode feel of a female visitor suddenly realizes she is gay. No biggie. They even do it fairly well. Just try to be original.
The guy visitor was the largest name actor on the show , even as a guest. Clearly they ran out of money after they hired him. Because his wire time was sparse. As was the plot. Seemed more like he got paid to go to vacation to Puerto Rico and do 30 minutes of film work.

The Fantasy Island welcomes two new guests. The avid reader Isabel Marshall, who is a big fan of the writer Rachel Coldwater and the adventurer Brian Cole that loves to challenge the nature. Isabel returns to the time where Rachel lived with her husband Reginald and Brian stumbles upon himself when he was a boy in the middle of the woods.
"The Romance & The Bromance" is an episode of "Fantasy Island" with a lesbian romance and discovery of the challenging behavior. Both stories are well-resolved, and Isabel and Brian will certainly be better persons. My vote is seven.

Sad. I really liked this show. But a reason the original series lasted 7 seasons is because it had a darkness and mystery to it. Sure, it didn't age too well after 40 years, but it's a classic because it had a mysterious depth.
This show has no depth at all unfortunately. Everything is on the surface. And it's already getting cheesy. It took the original series 40 years to get cheesy, and that's only because it's so dated.
You got an opportunity to bring back Fantasy Island, Elena and Ruby are good characters and the show started off great but it's feeling more and more plastic by the episode.

This is hands down the best episode of the show. I loved this one so much. Isabel and Rachel's relationship was so pure and the ending made me so happy. You just have to watch it. It's like The Girl King, but with a happy ending. The premise is you being sent back in time to meet your favourite author. What's not to love?

A very realistic "fantasy" about love. Not just love, true love! Unconditional love! One's love for self, a moment of finally finding your place in life. Love is so much more than just "romance" this episode showed that. I love a show were you're getting taught life lessons, that most seem to pass by. It's the story that counts! Not just the "perfection" of it. This was an ultimate love story I'm glad I got to see. The title was surely fitting, and did not disappoint. My personal favorite thru out the entire series! I love how they remade the show, it's more lighter than dark. I totally appreciated the reboot as I see many don't. It's better energy lighter, happier peaceful while giving us the "fantasy" aspect. Sadly season 2 will be the last. I'll rewatch but definitely this episode in particular, as I already have.

I really fell in love with this show. And found it a wonderful way to explore human nature and our inner most issues. Great.
However, this episode was uncomfortable to watch with family. It seemed overly sexualized. And not in a way to show freedom, and be proud of who you are. It was more of filler?
When I say family, not talking about children. This is a show that I watch with my Mom once a week. But it was, uncomfortable to say the least. And just, overly done... I felt it could have been done so much better with more plot and less push.

This "Fantasy Island" episode called "The Romance and The Bromance" is not one of the more interesting one's as it's time periods and themes really were not that entertaining still it was a watch if you are watching the show. The episode involves stories of a modern day author woman who lands on the island and books are her life only she wants escape and she gets to go back in time to the era and Victorian days of her favorite love romance novel. And she meets and discovers a central book character and author and falls in love! Then a modern day survivalist sees the truth and what life is really about when he sees his young self while alone on an island hike after injury. Really just an episode of looking at the past and seeing yourself really not that entertaining or great.
