One of the first episodes where more than a single visitor, Roark and tattoo lady had depth.
The visitor met family. And each had depth. And intrigue. As did Roark side hussle plot.

Elena welcomes a Latin youth named Alma in the island and learns that she wants to get rid of her family for the weekend since they do not accept her life choice of being a drummer and percussionist as her grandfather was in Cuba. He was accused of murdering a man and sending her pregnant grandmother away to the USA and staying in his country. Alma is transported to Cuba in 1967, and she meets her grandparents and his brother in a club. Soon she learns secrets unknown by her family that explain the motives of her grandfather.
"Once Upon a Time in Havana" is a nice episode of "Fantasy Island". The plot exposes family secrets to a granddaughter and forces her to take a decision. In the end, family above all. My vote is seven.

This was a very heartfelt story of a family in Cuba. You really felt connected to them and I actually teared up at the end. Plus Ruby's story line of her learning to stop acting like an old lady was great.

This episode 4 from "FOX's" "Fantasy Island" reboot called "Once Upon a Time in Havana" was one that was not the greatest entertainment thing as it was a lame episode and hard to follow with interest. Still it's theme of the past was to show how it can affect our lives as many of our loved ones don't want a repeat. It involves Alma a modern day Percussionist who has a tight knit and strict family as they don't want her to become like her grandad , and they are even against her music. So she wants escape however when Alma arrives on the Island it's a trip back to 1967 Havana and she sees why her family has concerns when she looks at her grandad an ex percussionist, as they simply don't want her to follow his path. Overall okay episode one that looks at the past.
