Fans are going to have to wait a little while for "The White Lotus" season three. On Nov. 2, HBO and Max executive Casey Bloy revealed that the new season likely won't be here until 2025.
We don't know all that much about what to expect from "The White Lotus" season three, but back in March, after much speculation about where the new season would take place, sources told Variety that it would be set in Thailand. Reps for HBO did not respond to Popsugar's request for comment, but it does seem like we can expect that the new season will be heading eastward.
Back in February, "Reboot" creator Johnny Knoxville dropped a false lead in an interview with Vulture. In the interview, Knoxville shared that he's good friends with "White Lotus" showrunner Mike White and that the pair had recently "been in Tokyo together." "I think that's where the next . . . Oh,...

GLAAD’s “Where We Are on TV” study this year found a 6% decrease in the number of LGBTQ characters across broadcast, cable and streaming — and the cancellation/ending of shows surely isn’t helping matters.
Ahead of the latest study’s measurement period, the cancellation of Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legend of Tomorrow, 4400, Legacies and Naomi (on just The CW alone), plus Killing Eve, Claws, Dickinson, Astrid and Lily Save the World, The Wilds, Genera+ion, Y: The Last Man, Dear White People, Gentefied and Saved by the Bell (to name but a few), had already made a dent in LGBTQ representation.

In "School Spirits," Kristian Flores plays Simon Elroy, a high school student struggling to come to terms with the unexplained death of his best friend, Maddie (Peyton List). For Flores, whose masterful and nuanced performance is one of the show's highlights, the role was an opportunity to use some of the past challenges that have peppered his life to add layers to his character.
"School Spirits" finds Maddie just as she discovers that she's a ghost who's trapped in high school forever. But the show isn't merely a teen dramedy or an exploration of the paranormal - it's also a layered tale about trauma, friendship, and love that transcends life. In her afterlife, Maddie worries about her alcoholic mother, whom she had to take care of extensively while she was alive, while Simon worries that he'll never see his friend again. The show's complex themes were a big draw for Flores.

Judy Greer is set as a lead opposite Ellie Kemper in ABC’s Drop-Off (working title), a comedy pilot based on the British series Motherland, from writer Julieanne Smolinski, Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford’s Merman Television, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment, Lionsgate and ABC Signature. Karan Soni also stars.
Written by Smolinski, Drop-Off (wt) centers on Julia (Kemper), a working mom for whom nothing is working so she goes looking for her village. With the help of new friends Calvin (Soni) and Liz, Julia discovers she just might succeed at balancing work and parenting from time to time. This is a comedy for anybody who’s dropped their kids at school, breathed a sigh of relief … then realized it’s Sunday.

Ok, that was surreal. Johnny Knoxville, Eric Andre and Gabourey Sidibe re-creating the famous “Ghostbusters” commercial from the 1984 movie, but promoting a hotline for… pranks? But it’s all real, the phone number works (1-855-PRANX4U) and the three of them have indeed gotten into the pranks business via their upcoming ABC series “The Prank Panel.” Scroll below to watch the promo.
Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel is one of the executive producers on “The Prank Panel,” which airs this summer. On the show, everyday people pitch pranks targeting family members, friends and co-workers to the prankster panel — Knoxville, Andre and Sidibe. They then help plot the schemes, and serve as mentors and saboteurs as the pranks are carried out (and with the help of celebrity guest stars).

Hatcha! Whoopee! “Schmigadoon!” returns for Season 2 on April 7, 2023 with a darker tone. Unlike Season 1, which was inspired by golden age musicals of the 1940s and 50s, Season 2 of the Apple TV+ comedy transports the characters to “Schmicago.” The show will still be the humorous love letter to Broadway that fans adore, but this time it will be inspired by tuners from the 60s and 70s. “Schmigadoon!” picked up a few Emmy nominations, and even a win, when it was set in a colorful campy town. Will “Schmigadoon!” perform even better at the Emmys this year thanks to a lauded ensemble that pays homage to the likes of Oscar champs “Cabaret” and “Chicago”?
Season 1 of “Schmigadoon!” earned four total Emmy nominations. These bids include Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour), Music Composition, and a Choreography nomination for Christopher Gattelli. The show won a fourth bid: Outstanding Music and Lyrics for...

Netflix has greenlighted an untitled comedy series created and executive produced by Erin Foster, starring and executive produced by Kristen Bell and executive produced by Steven Levitan. It comes from 20th Television where sisters Erin and Sara Foster have a pod deal and Levitan is under an overall deal.
This is believed to be the first series order for a 20th TV show at Netflix since the studio became part of Disney as media congloms are starting to shift their focus from exclusively supplying their own streamers to profitability. Under new (old) CEO Bob Iger, Disney has been exploring licensing more film and TV content to rivals.
20th Television was the first major TV studio to get an original series on Netflix with the Arrested Development revival more than a decade ago. The most recent 20th TV originals on the streamer were Ryan Murphy’s The Politician and Ratched and animated comedy Hoops,...

Kristen Bell is headed back to Netflix to topline a new comedy series.
The Frozen and The Good Place actress will star in an untitled show from creator Erin Foster (Barely Famous) and executive producer Steven Levitan (Modern Family, Reboot) about “the unlikely relationship between an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi,” per the show’s logline. Bell will play the agnostic woman and also serve as an executive producer.
The series is the second at Netflix for Bell, who also starred in the streamer’s thriller parody The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window last year.
Bell is coming off Amazon’s feature film The People We Hate at the Wedding and will be part of the voice cast for an upcoming Paw Patrol movie. Her credits also include Queenpins, Hulu’s Veronica Mars revival and the Bad Moms movies.

Any digital artist well-versed in motion capture technology knows that a successful session relies on the performance of the actor. Donavon Stinson has been a witness and participant in the journey of motion capture since its explosion in popularity starting at the turn of the millennium, acting in an extensive list of film and video game productions that includes "District 9," "The Lord of the Rings" video games, and the "Mass Effect" series. The actor's live-action credits include Lifetime series "UnREAL," Shudder's zombie comedy "Dead Shack," and Nickelodeon's revival of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", among others.
I got the opportunity to talk with Stinson about his career, covering how much work goes into mo-cap performances, how filmmakers and creative directors work with actors on motion capture sets, and how the technology is ever-evolving. There’s been much speculation about the location for the third season of “The White Lotus” after HBO’s unsurprising renewal of the hit comedy.
Given the first season took place at a White Lotus resort in Hawaii, and the second in Sicily, could the third season take place somewhere even farther afield?
That may be, according to an unlikely source: Johnny Knoxville, who seemingly spilled the beans during a recent interview with Vulture.

Johnny Knoxville Says Give Hulu ‘More Credit’ than Just Assuming It Canceled the Show Over Meta Digs
Johnny Knoxville doesn’t want to have “Jackass” reaction to the untimely cancellation of “Reboot.”
The comedy series, created by “Modern Family” Emmy winner Steven Levitan, starred Knoxville, Keegan-Michael Key, and Judy Greer as former ’90s sitcom stars who reunite to revive their show. Paul Reiser and Rachel Bloom portray a father-daughter screenwriting team behind the new iteration of fictional show “Step Right Up.” Hulu announced the critically acclaimed comedy was canceled after one season in January.
“I have no insight as to why it was canceled,” Knoxville recently told Vulture. “It’s all played very close to the vest. I know we made a lot of fun of Hulu in the show, but I give the executives more credit than to cancel it for such a silly reason.”

Barring some sort of reboot down the line, Reboot fans have seen the last of the Hulu series. According to Deadline, Reboot is “officially over” after Hulu canceled the comedy last month and after creator Steve Levitan and 20th Television tried in vain to find it another home. The site reports that Reboot’s writing room had penned Season 2 scripts that were shopped around to potential buyers. “Well, that seems to be a wrap on Reboot,” Levitan, who previously co-created Modern Family, tweeted last week. “Very proud of our amazing cast and crew and what we did together. Thanks to all who watched and said such nice things. Haven’t seen it? Check us out on Hulu if you can find it. #UnintentionalLimitedSeries.” In Reboot’s first (and seemingly only) season, a revival of a fictional 2000s-era sitcom reunites that show’s dysfunctional cast members. “Now they must deal with...

School is difficult enough, but it's about to be more difficult for a teenager named Maddie (played by Peyton List), tasked with solving her murder.
Paramount+ dropped the official teaser for School Spirits this week, and it looks set to be one of the most talked-about shows of the year so far.
The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.
Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.
The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.
It's a compelling hook for a teen drama, and the official trailer makes it seem like this one is worth watching.

The satirical showbiz sitcom “Reboot” will not return for a second season, the show’s creator Steve Levitan said on Twitter Monday night. It’s apparent confirmation that the search for a new home following the show’s cancellation on Hulu has failed.
Hulu declined to renew the show late last month, and at the time Levitan was hopeful of finding a new home for his show on another network or streamer. In his statement Monday, posted on his Twitter account, Levitan also took a subtle dig against Hulu and how the streamer treated the show.

She continued, “I’m hoping we can sell it to a new place, I think it’s a fantastic show. I said from the beginning if I saw this show I would want to be on it, and I’d be jealous of anyone who was on it. So, I still can’t believe that I got to be on it, that I get to be on it.

"Reboot," Steve Levitan's snarky meta sitcom about a TV series that gets rebooted two decades after its abrupt cancellation, has been canceled. While I'd like to believe that this is all an elaborate scheme to announce a reboot of "Reboot" and make life imitate art, this isn't a bit. Hulu has officially pulled the plug on the short-lived comedy.
During its eight-episode first season, "Reboot" told the story of "Step Right Up," an early 2000s family sitcom being rebooted by Hulu for a new generation. That clever conceit paved the way for plenty of jokes poking fun at the industry through a disgruntled writers' room, an ongoing war with the Hulu executives, and the general insanity of actors navigating the press cycle, Hollywood expectations, and the changing nature of comedy. Plus, it was all wrapped up with the comfortable bow of a workplace comedy. The series starred Keegan-Michael Key,...

It’s like a bloodbath with all the shows announced to have given the axe by their respective networks. First, HBO would shock fans last year by canceling Westworld among the list of slashed shows by HBO Max. Netflix has been canceling a number of shows, and Showtime has now announced discontinuing series due to streaming rebranding. IndieWire has now reported that Hulu has canceled its latest original comedy, Reboot, after one season.
Reboot came from Modern Family creator, Steve Levitan. It was a satire of a once beloved sitcom, called Step Right Up, looking to reboot its show with the original cast returning. The show featured the talents of Keegan-Michael Key, Judy Greer, Paul Reiser, Johnny Knoxville, and Rachel Bloom. The cast of “Step Right Up” should plan to step right up to some new projects. On Monday, Hulu canceled “Reboot,” the meta-satirical series about a sitcom reboot, after just one season.
Sources tell IndieWire that “Reboot” creator Steven Levitan, best known for co-creating “Modern Family” with Christopher Lloyd, is currently shopping the show to other outlets with hopes of finding it a new home.
