A Nose was another rarity in animation that I found on YouTube
tavm15 September 2009
Just watched this animation rarity on YouTube as linked from the Cartoon Brew blog. It was made at the Jack Zander Pelican Films studio in New York. Based on a story by Nikolai Gogol, this tale about a person's nose missing and his search for it is oddly fascinating to watch as it combines line drawings with photo objects and some live-action inserts. Adapted by director Mordicai Gerstein and Brother Theodore who also narrated, A Nose is a pretty amusing, if not hilarious, account about where this nose goes and how it is found. The last line is particularly a little ridiculous but did make me think a little. Like I said, not very funny but still entertaining. So on that note, A Nose is worth a look.
