Surprisingly enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
I came in with low expectations. I'm old enough to have watched the original series, which was quite terrible after the first season or two. I expected this to be as bad or worse, but I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised so far. Don't get me wrong; it's not ever going to be included on lists of the greatest shows ever made, but it is fun and a little poignant , too. I quite like the Elena Roarke character, who is both a little mysterious and a little humble at the same time. It makes her seem more...human, if that makes sense. Ruby is certainly an improvement over Tattoo.

Don't go into this show thinking it'll be a new Lost. It's definitely not that. Just watch for a fun hour of TV - a perfect summer series.

Dave and Odette Annable were really fun to watch in this episode, too. They looked like they were having a great time playing each other. It's to the show's credit that they hired a real-life married couple to play these characters, since they really know each other and can pull off the Freaky Friday body-switch in a way that wasn't TOO over-the-top and ridiculous.

Entertaining, but a little silly

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, a husband and his wife exchange bodies. As the couple portraying them are married in real life, their delivery was very good, because they mimic each other's style very well. That was entertaining to watch. But the story was not so good. The super brave woman who was married in the Kilimanjaro was suddenly afraid of bugs. And she explicitly says she does not want a baby but they end having it, because Hollywood hates couples than don't want children. It makes no sense with their stories but it does not matter. You can't spread the message that it is ok not to want children. Besides, the male and women stereotypes were a little too much.

The other story had a grieving man but the ending was quite rushed, not explaining how the man was going to reinsert in the normal life.

Besides that, we got to know more about Elena and Ruby, and that was quite good.

Much better than the pilot

Good stories, good acting by the guest stars. The chemistry between the regulars is a bit choppy. But this episode showed a promise that the pilot lacked.

Mediocre freaky Friday

It was cute. But clearly this is a growing season on a small budget.

I hope it survives to see if it can mature.

Body switch/And wake up to face grief.
blanbrn21 August 2021
This episode 2 from "FOX's" "Fantasy Island" reboot called "His and Hers/The Heartbreak Hotel" is a little lame and not as entertaining as the first episode, still I guess it's a watch for any fans of escape and for those that like the series. First up a married couple from San Francisco who are both professional and successful arrive on the Island wanting to spice up their stale marriage, and in a crazy twist the island magic and tropical waters cause a body switch as both feel what it's like to be the other! Then Brent an old man who's been staying at a room on the island awakes to finally face the grief that he's never overcame from losing his wife. Overall nothing great episode just moves along on the series roadway.
