Leverage: Redemption is the reboot of Leverage and has the entire original cast back with the exception of Timothy Hutton (because of his legal problems), they replaced him with Noah Wyle who steps in and does a fantastic job. All the heists are exactly as the original but the characters have all since grew and evolved since we last saw them. This is just a flat out fun show to watch if you can just turn your brain off because some of it is ridiculous but in a good way. As long as you don't think too deeply about what you're watching then I promise you'll have a good time watching it. If you're a fan of the original Leverage then this show is absolutely for you.
Leverage: Redemption is the reboot from the original. It brings the whole gang back together except Timothy Hutton with Noah Wyle, otherwise the rest of the cast is all back. The series is about some reformed criminals who put their unique skills to good use by helping regular citizens against big companies of both corporate and government that take advantage of those regular citizens. The come up with elaborate scams targeted against these greedy corrupt people and help the victims get justice. I love how at the end of each episode they do the flashbacks at everything we missed to make the plan come together and be successful. It's the same thing as the Oceans movies did. If you're looking for a fun show to waste a little time with then give Leverage: Redemption a chance.

Fun Fun Fun! Good story with lots of humor. We need more Robin Hood stories with happy endings! Love the cast of characters and how they interact with each other. Thank you for bringing this back in such a great way. It is as good if not better than the original.

Not sure if the bad reviews are from people who actually even watched the original because they seem to complain about the content and how silly it is. The show was ALWAYS silly. That was part of the fun. The other group are the people who complain about the lack of Nate Ford and hate the new characters. The reasons Timothy Hutton left the show are the reasons he left the show and he more then likely isn't coming back even though they have been settled. The show gave Nate Ford a happy ending and it works for the show and bringing him back will cast a needless darkness on a light hearted show. And yes the show bends toward a certain direction that won't appeal to everyone. The crew are not going to take the side of a rich businessman trying to force his employees off the picket line. They just aren't. If that is who you root for then this isn't the show for you. But it is a fun light hearted heist show that doesn't take itself too seriously and is fun to watch.

Before Leverage Redemption , while Nate was in prison , both Sophie and the rest of the team told Nate that she had revealed her real name to the others . Why , through the rest of Leverage and during Leverage Redemption does the team continue to call her by her alias ? I have seen every episode of the series both before and after Nathan's death several times , and never recall hearing "Sophie " tell the team what her name was . What's up with that ? It makes me wonder if she ever even told Nate what her name is . For that matter , I wonder if she may have been lying to Nate when he was in prison and she told him that .
There are enough holes in each episode that this one is altogether unnecessary , so why not just come out and use her real name ? Do the writers think that the audience is not capable to handle a change like this ? I like the show . Stargate SG 1 was one of my all time favorites . Both of these plus all other Devlin Dean productions are top shows/movies as far as I am concerned .

This was everything I hoped for and more. The original characters kept their appeal and stayed true to their roots, and the new additions are wonderful. Same great writing, directing, and acting. All the "jobs" were fantastic with Parker's love of vents, the costumes, and Eliot's fight scenes. I do miss Nate but Noah Wylie's character is so much fun and he never ever tries to replace Nate. I'm so glad the wait is finally over but it was definitely worth it. Thank you Dean Devlin for giving us back our hitter, hacker, grifter, and thief!!!!!
Good to have these guys back in my life, lol. Loving it already. Noah Wyle is a nice touch. I miss Timothy Hutton, but Noah and the rest of the cast have good chemistry. Lets hope for a Season 2.

If you watched all original show from the beginning and now the new ones I think it's one of the best shows on tv . In today's world there are scammers everywhere so we need alittle LEVERAGE to fight back . Please keep this show going .
Killing off the Nate Ford character and not replacing him with a new mastermind really ruins the formula for the show. They wasted Noah Wyle with his basically throw away character, they should have made him the mastermind for the season. Really missed Hardison as well, glad he was at least in a few episodes. If it wasn't for Christian Kane being in it I probably would have just skipped this remake. This is not the leverage fans love, it's just a cheap imitation.

Disclaimer: I'm on episode 4.
This FEELS like Leverage, and feels new at the same time. I do recommend you watch the original series before this one though.
Leverage has always been a character driven show, and the characters are definitely here.

The original series was a diamond in the rough. The reboot is serviceable, at best. I loved Noah in ER and thought he would be a great replacement but his character was a huge disappointment. Parker was downright intolerable though. The overacting ruined the episodes, IMO. The show just didn't have the same magic.

I can't get past Parker acting like a spoiled child instead of an adult. Plots are too predictable and the hacker just does not fit at all. This is good for a rainy afternoon while folding the laundry.
I've just started but I love that they are staying true to the original show! The characters and actors have grown but they still have their same amazing chemistry. So excited!

The Leverage Team returns with the hitter, a new hacker, the grifter and thief, and what a wonderful return it is! Noah Wylie joins the cast, adding a new dimension as the newbie/ex-bad-buy lawyer learning about redemption through helping people.
The series starts right in with new episodes with amaing guest stars like LaVar Burton, Keith David and Michael Pare. The episode about Eliot's dad made me cry harder than I have in years and seeing Sophie grieve Nate Ford's passing was so sad, but that aside, the Leverage team still doesn't miss a beat taking down the bad guys with a taste of their own medicine. They even managed to put Hardison somewhere so he can eavesdrop and say hello occasionally.
It's a great reboot. So very well done. I am a dedicated Christian Kane fan and will watch anything that he's in the cast, but Eliot Spencer still fits him like a glove. He's so multi-talented, as are all the Redemption cast members, so the sky's the limit for plot lines, and Dean Devlin and his wonderful writers take full advantage of that.
This is a wonderful, completely entertaining, funny, poignant, almost perfect TV show just to watch and enjoy. I love this series, and Almost Paradise, and would love to see a season 3, 4 and beyond.

I watched the first two episodes Thursday and they reminded me of the original series. I did not miss Nate at all.
The way they explained Nate's absence is one of the most logical and expected ways to handle it. Gina Bellman delivered a great performance.
Friday morning, I started the third episode. I love that the creators showed how important Hardison really was and still is. The team always took him for granted. In today's world, a lot of the new age tech people don't give credit to the older geeks. Big ups to Dean Devlin and team.
Alec will always be my favorite and I will miss him from the other episodes. However, I will continue watching Leverage: Redemption and am looking forward to the remaining episodes. Hopefully, Hardison will be able to join for the second half of the season.
Congrats to cast, crew and everyone who is responsible for bringing Leverage: Redemption to us!

Not a note was dropped between the concert of ideas from the original to Redemption. A few band member changes, but it just adds another flavor to the music. I am so thankful that we the fans were never forgotten and were Richly rewarded for not giving up.

Absolutely brilliant series - so pleased it's back and long may it continue! It's really nice to see the team back together again along with two new members who work and fit in well and watching them helping people. Like the backstory of what they've all been doing for a few years too! For me this series is right up there as one of the best on TV and I never tire of watching it again because every time you do, you pick up and notice something else! Love the seriousness, the humour, the plots, the fight scenes, everything! If you liked the original series, you'll definitely like this one! Just wish there were more episodes! I hope the series continues.
I'm a bit torn on this. I'm happy that they brought it back and there's a lot of the show that feels true to the original (not taking itself too seriously) but as others have said, losing Nate Ford really hurt the team dynamic. Sophie doesn't carry the same gravitas and the actress simply can't hold the same role (she never has been able to...IMO she was the shining weak point in the first series too)
I do find the show a little preachy at times, and while I get that this is the new norm, I think there's a pretty bad break in immersion when the young girl is all self righteous and somehow the one who knows more than the adults about what is "right" in the world. And missing Hardison is rough...he's way better than his replacement.
Also Parkers bangs in season 1 are awful...but not as bad as Elliot's entire hairstyle in season 2. Bleh.
All of that said, I'm happy to see the show back at it. I'll continue watching it and it's not unwatchable by any means...it's just not as good as the original. And this is one of those situations that I don't know that I would like it as much without the nostalgia factor... but then again I may like it more if I weren't comparing it to the old one.

About time they bring old shows back that were canceled for no reason and so far this is even funnier than the old series 10 years.
Those that never watch the original series, suggest you watch it 1st before this. But either way, Show is great non stop.

I was ecstatic to see Leverage return and loved the first couple of episodes because they had the old-school feel of the earlier seasons, but after a few episodes the reboot started to feel a little tired and repetitive. I have to say, Aldis Hodge's absence makes itself known very acutely - you really realize how important his presence was for the team dynamic that made up the magic of the earlier seasons. Still definitely worth watching though!

The best thing about Leverage Redemption, in my opinion, is that it has the same feel as the original. It feels warm and bright and that is a hard feeling to capture. I love the way that the new characters mesh with the old ones, it feels like they have been here the whole time. One thing that I really enjoy seeing is how much Parker has grown, all through the first show she was maturing and growing and it's awesome to see what has happened with her. I am interested in seeing how she and Sophie work together with the new dynamic of Parker being used to being in a leadership position, which she previously wasn't in. Seeing how they all mentor Breanna is also really cool and I think it is shown in an honest way. In real mentorships, both parties learn from each other and that's what we are seeing here. I truly hope that we will get more episodes, storylines, and jokes, haha (maybe a bit more Hardison as well)!!

I will continue to wish for more seasons of Leverage! It was so entertaining with action and adventures along with humor! It made me laugh AND cry. The stories were never predictable. It has appeal for the young and old!!! Make and female.
I can get lost in binging the show and easily stay up way too late not realizing the time that has passed. The characters are all admirable. I will admit Christian Kane is my favorite character though. But the others really make the show also! It would not be the same without the role of each and every one.
Please please make more seasons. The ratings and reviews are obviously a favorite of so many.

It made me really upset that they fired Timothy Hutton while his legal issues were still unresolved - I almost didn't want to watch Redemption!! HOWEVER, I love Christian Kane as Eliot and I do love the rest of the actors and characters, so I decided to watch at least one episode. I am so glad I did! The addition of "our Mr.s Wilson" and Hardison's sister, Bree, fill out the cast nicely. The stories are wonderful - I love the happy endings after a well-done sting! The only thing I HATE is that the action is interrupted with commercials!! I already pay for ad-free Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount, Disney, Acorn, and Britbox. I will not pay extra to buy or rent it from Prime, so I am stuck with ads! They are such an annoyance that I almost will not watch this and other of my beloved shows - but I still watch, cussing FreeVee throughout! Bottom Line: I love this show (and Almost Paradise) so much that I am willing to suffer through all the interruptions! Mr. Devlin, PLEASE sell these shows to one of the channels I already buy!!
