I don't watch this program very often. One it's set in my city, but there are times when I don't recognize it. Two, it makes the same kinds of mistakes that perpetuate Asian stereotypes. The only good thing I can say about this it that it picks on all the major Asian cultures residing in NYC equally.. ^^ all in one family apparently. The store is apparently Korean, as are the characters...uh last name Kim? However, the characters seem to speak Chinese when provoked into those unreasonable emotional states that the presence of law enforcement, no exception, seems to bring forth in them. Then the victim's fiancé is referred to as Steven or Hill- san. I believe the honorific -san is used in Japanese culture.
Altogether not an episode that should have been aired...I may have missed some things but the aforementioned alone both amused and flabbergasted me so much that insured that I wasn't paying much attention.
