At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

Ray Liotta, the intense actor from New Jersey best known for his turn as the hustler turned mob rat Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s GoodFellas, has died. He was 67.
Publicist Jennifer Allen told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor died Wednesday night or early Thursday in his sleep in his hotel room while in the Dominican Republic making the movie Dangerous Waters. His fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, was with him. He had begun work on the film about a week ago.
The boyish, blue-eyed Liotta also was memorable as Ray Sinclair, the violent ex-convict husband of Melanie Griffith’s character, in Jonathan Demme’s Something Wild (1986); as the disgraced Chicago White Sox baseball player Shoeless Joe Jackson in the Kevin Costner starrer Field of Dreams (1989); and as the corrupt cop Matt Wozniak on the 2016-18 NBC cop drama Shades of Blue, opposite Jennifer Lopez.

After dipping her toes into the film acting pool with appearances in “Machete Kills” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” pop superstar Lady Gaga took on her first starring part in 2018’s “A Star Is Born.” The following year, she became the first actress since Gabourey Sidibe to be recognized by the Screen Actors Guild for her debut headlining role. Having landed in the current Best Actress lineup as the star of “House of Gucci,” she has now made history as the only woman to earn SAG nominations for both of her first two lead film performances.
Gaga’s competitors in this year’s Best Actress race are Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”), Olivia Colman (“The Lost Daughter”), Jennifer Hudson (“Respect”), and Nicole Kidman (“Being the Ricardos”). Does anyone else enjoy Lady Gaga more as an actress than a singer? She has become a more prominent movie star in recent years, but I remember first seeing her in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It’s 2006. James Bond, as rendered in this particular iteration by franchise newcomer Daniel Craig, is on a train to Montenegro as he prepares for his upcoming mission: a poker tournament, where he will compete against the notorious private banker and criminal mastermind known as Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). However, there’s one factor Bond hasn’t taken into account, and it’s the well-dressed woman in a business suit who elegantly sits herself across from him in the train car. But Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) isn’t merely the agent to the British Treasury that she asserts herself to be — over the course of the story she’ll become the first woman that Bond truly, deeply gives his heart to, as well as the first one to subsequently break said heart. Hers is a role that demands assertiveness and vulnerability, a captivating beauty with a keen mind, and someone...

Netflix is developing a sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s newly released superhero pic “We Can Be Heroes.”
The movie, which draws from the young heroes in the director’s “Spy Kids” franchise and “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl,” follows the children of Earth’s superheroes, whose parents have been kidnapped by alien invaders. The children are left with no choice but to work together to save their parents and the world.
Rodriguez, a veteran of superhero movies starring children, recently directed “Alita: Battle Angel,” as well as “Sin City” and its follow-up, “Sin City: A Dame to Kill for.” Along with Rodriguez, “We Can Be Heroes” was produced by Racer Max and executive produced by Ben Ormand. The movie hails from Double R Productions.
“We Can Be Heroes” stars a robust ensemble of Yaya Gosselin, Adriana Barraza, Boyd Holbrook, Pedro Pascal and Christian Slater. Sung Kang, Christopher McDonald, Priyanka Chopra Jonas,...

From the $7,000 “El Mariachi” to last year’s almost $200 million “Alita: Battle Angel,” Robert Rodriguez movies are infused with the energy of someone messing around with a camera in their backyard. The best (e.g. “The Faculty”) make that fun infectious and the worst (“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”) suffer from taking themselves just a bit too seriously, but all of them retain the kind of giddy and un-precious love of the game that Hollywood tends to snuff out of people as soon as they get there. It’s probably no coincidence that the Austin-based Rodriguez has always made Hollywood come to him instead — a dynamic he solidified by reincorporating his Troublemaker Studios in 2000 — and the stuff he’s produced there ever since has doubled down on that DIY sensibility in a way that feels admirable even when the movies themselves don’t work out.

Russian-born actor Alex Sparrow has joined the cast of Sean McNamara’s Ronald Reagan biopic, Variety has confirmed.
In “Reagan,” Sparrow will portray an up-and-coming Russian political leader named Andrei Novikov. Sparrow will act alongside Jon Voight, who plays a Kgb agent who tracked Reagan for 40 years. In search of answers about the Soviet Union’s demise, Sparrow’s character soon becomes acquainted with the Kgb agent.
“We are excited to have Alex on board,” McNamara said. “He brings poise and strength to the character and brings Novikov to life.”
Sparrow most recently appeared in the Netflix series “Space Force” as Yuri “Bobby” Telatovich, the Russian Space Force liaison. In the U.S., he has also held roles on Lifetime’s “Unreal,” the horror film “The Vatican Tapes” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.” In Russia — where he goes by Alexey Vorobyov — Sparrow is best known for his music career,...

Josh Brolin is certainly no stranger to the world of comic book movies, and while his best known flirtations with the genre saw him play the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thanos and Deadpool 2′s Cable, his extensive experience in the world of page to screen translations has brought some wildly inconsistent results.
He might have played the bad guy in the highest-grossing movie in history, but the 52 year-old also suited up as the title character in Jonah Hex, which bombed at the box office and quickly gained a reputation as one of the worst comic book flicks ever made. He took top billing in the remake of manga adaptation Oldboy as well, which also tanked and was savaged by critics, while Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was a disappointingly pale imitation of the first installment.

Lady Gaga doesn’t often venture into the world of acting, but when she does, the results are often very impressive, despite the 34 year-old musician only having a handful of credits under her belt. For her role in American Horror Story: Roanoke, Gaga received widespread critical acclaim and ended up winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film.
In what was only her third feature movie appearance after brief collaborations with Robert Rodriguez in Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Gaga found herself showered with even more praise as the female lead in Bradley Cooper’s awards season favorite A Star is Born, which saw her nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, where she picked up the pic’s only win from eight nominations in the Best Original Song category.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when Bruce Willis seemed to give up on trying anything interesting or exciting and decided to follow Nicolas Cage down the rabbit hole into the world of terrible VOD action movies, but the 65 year-old has certainly gone all-in, with his descent into mediocrity coinciding with the most prolific period of his entire career.
If you discount his franchise turns that include playing John McClane for a fifth time in the awful A Good Day to Die Hard and a sixth in The Lego Movie sequel, cameos in the first two Expendables before he was kicked out by Sylvester Stallone after demanding too much money to appear in the third, both installments of the short-lived Red series, a brief role in G.I.
