It's official: Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2017 Oscars. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Monday that Kimmel will follow Chris Rock's stint in 2015 when the 89th Academy Awards air on ABC on Feb. 26. Kimmel, who hosts his own late-night program on the network, hosted the 2016 Emmy Awards. He has also hosted the Espy Awards in 2007, plus the American Music Awards in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Variety first reported Kimmel's participation. "Yes, I am hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank," Kimmel tweeted an hour after the news broke. "And if it is, my revenge on @TheAcademy will be terrible & sweet. Thx to @alsformalwear." Nominations...

There wasn't a dry eye in the room during the presentation of the annual Arthur Ashe Award for Courage during the Espy Awards on Wednesday night. The honoree, Zaevion Dobson, was a 15-year-old football player of Knoxville, Tenn., who was killed in December 2015 when he shielded three girls from a spray of bullets. Sacrificing himself, he died in the shooting. To introduce the award, Steph Curry gave a pointed speech against gun violence — a prevalent theme during the annual awards show that opened with a Black Lives Matter call to action from NBA superstars Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane

Before we break down the best dressed ladies ever to walk the Espy Awards' red carpet, let's address one thing—we are counting down the seconds to see Caitlyn Jenner's (undoubtedly stunning) red carpet debut at the 2015 show. Now, back to the ladies who've already walked the walk at ESPYs past—Jessica Alba absolutely slayed the red carpet last year in a textured champagne Elie Saab frock with an architectural bodice. Surprised? Neither are we; Jess always nails the red carpet! Not far behind her, Gabrielle Union practically ignited the show in a plunging Marc Bouwer Lbd with mirrored embellishments back in 2013. Also awe-worthy at the 2013 show was Selena Gomez, whose spicy red Dolce &...

Sure, some weeks the red carpet is bound to disappoint. But that week is not upon us. Of course, Jessica Alba makes our style short list—but then again, when is she ever not best-dressed? Gold has always been a go-to hue for Alba, but this architectural Elie Saab Couture mini may be her best exploit in the rich shade yet. Going from elegant to edgy, we have Nicola Peltz ditching her typical glam gowns in favor of a bolder Balenciaga design. It's a new look for the 19-year-old, and we dig it. Bringing the pants to the red carpet party, we have Chrissy Teigen's cleavage-clad Elisabetta Franchi jumpsuit she wore to the 2014 Espy Awards. One word: bombshell! But let's not leave out...

Attention, sports fans! The stars at the 2014 Espy Awards Wednesday night proved that you can still bring the glamour to an evening all about sports. First, let's discuss our absolute favorite of the night: Jessica Alba. She lit up the red carpet in a shimmering Elie Saab Haute Couture dress and strappy metallic Brian Atwood sandals. Our score for this ensemble? A perfect ten. Then there was Chrissy Teigen, who, as always, was a bombshell in a cleavage-baring ensemble. We love that she bucked the trends and opted for a sultry jumpsuit by Elisabetta Franchi. Leave it to Chrissy to take something long-sleeved and make it utterly sexy. Cameron Diaz kept it simple in a little...

Drake went undercover for Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night so strangers on the street could call him “childish,” “not manly,” “an idiot,” “a chickenhead” and “not a real rapper.” This year's Espy Awards host put on a beard and a wig to interview (above) some of his biggest haters and biggest fans, while asking questions that ranged from “Are you a Drake fan?” to “How do you feel about rapper Drake refusing to acknowledge Caucasian athletes at the ESPYs?” See video: Jimmy Kimmel Notices a Lot of News Anchors Confused About Mickey Rooney's Death The Grammy-winning rapper from Canada tried to give strangers.

Jimmy Kimmel is planning to unveil the "biggest prank ever" at the 2012 Emmy Awards.
Kimmel, host of the 64th Emmy Awards, has been planning a prank to end all pranks.
“I am gonna do something very weird during the show," the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" host told Entertainment Weekly. "I think it could possibly be the biggest prank ever pulled, as far as number of people involved. Possibly. I haven’t researched it, but it’ll definitely be right up there. The audience will be a participant in this. So it’s important that you watch because you’re either going to be in on it or not.”
EW's Mandi Bierly speculated that the 44-year-old might "instruct at-home viewers to tweet that some scandalous thing that just happened at the Emmys, and the people who aren’t watching the show won’t know that it didn’t really happen."

For the third consecutive year, the Emmys have proven that they kick the living crap out of the Oscars in terms of hosting picks. Because while the Academy Awards are swinging wildly between stoned, eighteen-to-forty-nine demographic snatchers (James Franco) and once-great men whose faces now terrify me to my core (Billy Crystal), the Emmys continue to stick to funny, proven performers. Case in point: Jimmy Kimmel is set to emcee this year's ceremony. Kimmel has hosted the American Music Awards and the Espy Awards in the past, so this ain't his first awards show rodeo — in fact, he'll also host the White House Correspondents' Dinner next month. The late-night host had this to say about his upcoming gig: "I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars." That zinger may only merit a polite [...]...

Jimmy Kimmel will host his first Emmy Awards this year, with Don Mischer executive producing for a record twelfth time, ABC announced Monday. Kimmel's affinity for awards shows is well-established: His post-Oscars shows are flooded with A-listers. But the Emmys will bring his jaded wit to one of the biggest awards shows on television. He has previously hosted the American Music Awards and the Espy Awards. He will also host the White House Correspondents Dinner in April. ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is in its tenth season. Mischer's vast production credits include the 84th...

Late night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel is coming to primetime for the 64th Annual Emmy Awards. Kimmel will host the awards show telecast on ABC on Sun., Sept. 23.
Kimmel is no stranger to hosting gigs. Now known for his ABC late night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live," currently in its tenth season, the comedian shot to fame as co-host on Comedy Central's "The Man Show" and the host of "Win Ben Stein's Money," for which he won an Emmy. He's also slated to host the White House Correspondents Dinner in April and has previously hosted the American Music Awards and Espy Awards.
Traditionally, Emmy hosts are stars of the network broadcasting the ceremony that year. "Glee" actress Jane Lynch hosted the telecast in 2011 when it aired on Fox, Jimmy Fallon had the honor for NBC when it aired there in 2010 and Neil Patrick Harris hosted the show in 2009 on CBS.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the Emmys this year, ABC announced today. It's his first time in this role, but Kimmel has hosted Espy Awards and the American Music Awards before, plus, you know, he has that show and all. The Emmys are on ABC this year, so of course there's an ABC person hosting the show: Jane Lynch hosted last year's Fox telecast, Jimmy Fallon hosted 2010's NBC telecast, Neil Patrick Harris hosted 2009's telecast — 'twer always so. "I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars," Kimmel said in the release, which bodes reasonably well for the ceremony — that's a pretty good line.

ABC turned to its late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to emcee the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. Don Mischer, who produced this year’s Academy Awards with Bryan Grazer, also on ABC, is on board to produce the Emmy telecast on Sept. 23. While he has hosted other awards shows, including the American Music Awards and the Espy Awards, this is Kimmel’s first time hosting the Emmys. For Mischer, this will be Emmy producing gig No.12. “We love television and look forward to working with the Television Academy and ABC in creating a show that is fast-paced, humorous, unpredictable and at times irreverent, but clearly celebratory of our incredible industry,” Mischer said. It was ABC’s previous turn carrying the Primetime Emmys that produced the most universally panned host performance with Ryan Seacrest, Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Jeff Probst.
