When Pete and Lanie deliver Tommy at his mother's house, he is supposedly asleep on Lanie's shoulder and Pete has to wake him so he can get out of the car. When Lanie (Angelina Jolie) is shown around the AM USA set for the first time, she and the producer enter a darkened set before someone flips a switch and everything is illuminated with crew members bustling about (cleaning, checking cameras, etc). When Lainie tells her father she got the job in New York and he shows her all the videotapes he has of her. When she uses the remote to start the tape, the audio starts before the video does.
When Lanie is in New York, she is told by the network guy that her live interview will be on at 8 a.m. When the morning show starts, the male host welcomes "all the viewers from the West Coast for this special live broadcast." Presumably, they are doing that because Lanie is from Seattle. During the interview, we see her sister and brother-in-law watching it in a sunny room in their mansion. Eight in the morning in New York is five in the morning in Seattle; the sun would not yet be up, especially in early autumn, when the movie takes place.
