- TriviaLong time supporting characters Harlan, Bonnie and Turner do not appear in the film. Randi Oakes (Bonnie) retired from acting to raise her family shortly after CHiPs ended, and Michael Dorn (Turner) was busy with Star Trek projects at the time. Thom Riley, who replaced Larry Wilcox during the show's final season does not appear as Bobby Nelson, though Bruce Penhall reprises his role as Bruce Nelson.
- GoofsPonch was depicted as having left the CHP while Jon stayed with it. During CHiPs final season, it was Jon who left the CHP, while Ponch remained a member. However, it's possible Jon could have left on a sabbatical at that time, then returned in the intervening years with Ponch having left at some point afterward.

Featured review
CHIPs hasn't been aired here for nearly 15 years and I never realised that I missed it until I saw this film. If I'm entirely honest I didn't think much of CHIPs 99, the charm of the film only really comes from the memories which it conjures up. I do however wish they'd repeat the series, they've done every other 70's and 80's series several times, many of them much less deserving than CHIPs.
