After graduating from school, he studied at Glendale City College and gained his first acting experience in amateur school and college plays. While on stage, he was 'talent scouted', invited to an audition at Warner Brothers and subsequently recruited for a part in the crime drama I Was a Communist for the F.B.I. (1951). Hagerthy then briefly worked as an ambulance driver before being conscripted into the army. Initially trained as an infantryman at Fort Ord, he was later seconded to a television subsidiary of the army and became involved in the production of the syndicated TV show The Gray Ghost (1957) (the story of Confederate cavalry officer John S. Mosby and his battalion, known as Mosby's Raiders). He made a guest appearance in a 1957 episode.
Hagerthy became best-known as co-star of the TV series Sky King (1951) as 'Clipper', the lead character's nephew. He also featured in the pilot episode of The Beverly Hillbillies (1962) as the geologist who first discovers oil on the Clampett's property. On the big screen, Hagerthy romanced Janice Rule as a bashful Air Force pilot in the musical Starlift (1951) and played a naive juvenile who falls in with criminals in City That Never Sleeps (1953). He later said in an interview "I played eighteen years old for 10 years. I always looked young, and I guess I still do."
Hagerthy retired from acting in 1968 and eventually worked in management for a real estate company in Century City, Los Angeles. He later set up his own agency in Orange County. - Actor

He grew up in Andover with his brother Michael.
After he graduated in 1955, from Phillips Andover Academy, Anthony went to both the Rhode Island School of Design, and the University of Florence in Italy, and then he attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received a master of fine arts degree.
Tony first tried painting as his artistic outlet, something he would continue on and off all of his life, but he also loved theatre, and toured with the Cleveland Playhouse in 1961. He then appeared in Boston theatre and finally on Broadway, and moved to Hollywood in 1963 looking to work more in film and television.
In 1974, he started writing a story in which he could star when the story was produced. The story then became a mini-series and then a novel, and when he was finished there was no part for him. Some studio producers showed interest, but when he said that the deal came with him as scriptwriter, they turned him down. Bantam Books published the story as a novel in early 1982 under the title Jericho. The book is a love story set around the Great Depression, the union movement, and the struggle between bosses in a Massachusetts mill town in decline in the 1930s.
Anthony Costello died at his home, after suffering from AIDS. - Actress

Katie Piper is now a best selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner. She is also a young woman who has rebuilt her life after surviving a brutal attack in March 2008 at the age of 24, in which she was raped and had sulphuric acid thrown in her face. She spent 2 months in the Burns Unit at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where she was placed in an induced coma in intensive care. Katie's surgeon Mr Mohammad Ali Jawad and his team performed pioneering surgery on Katie. They chose to remove the dead layers of skin from Katie's face and rebuild the foundations of it using a dermal substitute called Matriderm along with skin grafts from her back and buttocks. It was the first of its kind in the world to be done as a single stage operation.
Katie then went to an intensive burn rehabilitation unit in France to undertake a long period of scar management techniques.
She had to wear a plastic pressure mask for 23 hours a day for two years as part of her treatment. Her injuries also meant that she needed to be fed through a tube in her stomach as reforming scar tissue in her throat restricted her ability to eat and drink. The acid also left her blinded in one eye.
Just over a year after the attack, Katie made the decision to give up her anonymity and share her story in a remarkable film for the Cutting Edge strand on Channel 4 called 'Katie: My Beautiful Face'. which was watched by over 3.5million viewers and nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA Television Awards in 2010. In 2009 she went on to set up her own charity The Katie Piper Foundation. Simon Cowell supported Katie in her mission by becoming the patron and remains actively involved to date. The charity's vision is a world where scars do not limit a person's function, social inclusion or sense of well being.
Since then, Katie's life and career has gone from strength to strength. She has gone on to make a number of TV shows both here in the UK and internationally, she has written 3 number one best-selling books and her original autobiography has been translated into several different languages and sold in a number of countries. Katie has been described as an inspirational role model, and her bravery and determination have been recognised by being nominated and receiving a number of awards.
She was voted Woman of the Year 2011 and most recently received a special recognition award at The Pride of Britain Awards in London.
Katie currently has a weekly column in NOW Magazine writing as a life guru.- Actor
