Terry, born in the Bronx and of Finnish and Puerto Rican descent, spent most of his childhood in Brooklyn, with a few years in Puerto Rico. A graduate of Telecommunications Arts & Technology High School in Brooklyn, he enlisted in the United States Navy, initially aspiring to become a Navy Seal. However, due to injuries, he served as a Hospital Corpsman (FMF), concluding his military service stationed in Hawaii with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines.
After his military service, Terry returned to New York City and joined the FDNY. As a firefighter with Ladder 10, he was one of many who responded to the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. Health complications from that day led to his medical retirement from the FDNY in 2007.
Following retirement, Terry earned a B.A. in Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management from the University of Hawaii. He then moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he studied Producing/Directing at UCLA Extension. His career now includes roles as a Tech Advisor, Actor, and Teamster (Driver), contributing to network shows, independent films, and national commercials.
Terry is an alumnus of the inaugural AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship, Team Rubicon Clay Hunt Fellowship, and LACMA Veterans Make Movies program.
