Malcolm Roberson is a writer and producer who graduated from Columbia College Hollywood with a BFA in Television and Film Writing and Producing. Malcolm moved to California in 2013 from his hometown of Detroit Michigan, where he got his start in the business as a production assistant. He had the opportunity to work on films such as Sparkle, with Mara Brock and Salim Akil; Scream 4, directed by the late Wes Craven; Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, and many more. Shortly after, Malcolm soon realized his passion for the behind the scenes of the business and knew then, he wanted to create his own work which initiated his move to Los Angeles.
Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2013, Malcolm was fortunate enough to land the opportunity of a life-time. He became Executive Personal Assistant to actress Wendy Raquel Robinson as he remains. He had the opportunity to work as Wendy's dialogue coach during the re-shoots of the series finale of BET's "The Game" and was able to shadow director Salim Akil. Aside from working with Wendy, Malcolm worked as a writer's assistant for Freeform's hit series "Baby Daddy" for the duration of season four. He had learned first hand how the writing process for episodic series was done. From there, he went on to work in the writers' room for Mara Brock Akil's new series for OWN, "Love Is___." Malcolm has also worked with talents such as Forest Whitaker, Pooch Hall, Bill Duke, Tia Mowry and Brittany Daniel.
Malcolm has always had a passion for writing and creating. He had successfully created a number of YouTube series along with local television airing of a few of his projects. His passion for writing was born out of the majority of his youth and adulthood being spent in AP English courses and his love for reading. He's always been hungry to tell true stories in the most creative yet effective ways. Constantly wanting to challenge the audience and believing that less is more and sometimes the answers are right in your face. There is over seven billion people on this earth and each person has a different story. The world always says, "that story has been told before," but I say; "no story is the same..."
