Lisagaye Tomlinson is a Jamaican-born actress who emigrated to the
United States in her youth. She is known for Good Trouble, Jane the Virgin, CSI: Cyber, and Scorpion. She taught herself to play guitar at the age of 14 and
co-wrote, co-produced, and released her first solo album with
songwriting partner Kevin West. Originally, she'd planned to become a
university professor and pursued an academic schedule which, after a
change of heart, led her just short of completing a Doctor of Business
Administration degree. She began her career in acting on stage in South
Florida as a result of a chance listening encounter with a local
developer, Peter Giuliano, who heard her solo CD playing in a West Palm
Beach record store. Giuliano had written a rock opera called The Pimp
and the Prostitute and contacted her to play the lead role of Sondra, a
madame. Things then started to fall into place and it was full speed
ahead with pursuing her true passion in life.
