A Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee voted to unionize Friday night, the first auto manufacturing facility to unionize in the American South since the 1940s.
President Joe Biden issued a congratulations to the newly-formed union, which received 73 percent votes in favor among 3,613 workers, for “their historic vote for union representation with the United Auto Workers.”
“I was proud to stand alongside auto workers in their successful fight for record contracts, and I am proud to stand with auto workers now as they successfully organize at Volkswagen,” Biden said in a statement.

The White House has released some early excerpt of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address tonight, in which he says that he will restore “Roe v. Wade as the law of the land again.”
“In its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court majority wrote ‘Women are not without electoral or political power,'” Biden plans to say, according to prepared remarks. “No kidding. Clearly those bragging about overturning Roe v. Wade have no clue about the power of women in America. But they found out when reproductive freedom was on the ballot and won in 2022, 2023, and they will find out again in 2024. If Americans send me a Congress that supports the right to choose I promise you: I will restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land again.”
The president also plans to remind viewers oand listeners where the country was when he entered the White House.

United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain and former President Donald Trump have gone to war with each other.
Fain stated in an interview he gave on Face the Nation explaining why the union endorsed Joe Biden over Trump.
“Look, when you look at these two candidates, you know, Joe Biden has a history of serving others, and serving the working class, and fighting for the working class, standing with the working class,” the Uaw president stated. “Donald Trump has a history of serving himself and standing for the billionaire class. And that’s contrary to everything that working class people stand for.”
Trump responded to what Fain said during this interview by attacking him in a Truth Social post.
“I had the great privilege of watching Shawn Fain, the President of the United Auto Workers, this morning on DeFace the Nation,” the former president wrote. “He is a real ‘Stiff...

Donald Trump is trashing United Auto Workers (Uaw) President Shawn Fain after the union leader announced his organization’s endorsement of Joe Biden’s bid for reelection.
Fain “is a real ‘Stiff’ who is selling the Automobile Industry right into the big, powerful, hands of China,” Trump wrote Sunday night on Truth Social.
“He bought into Biden’s ‘vision’ of all Electric Vehicles, which require far fewer workers to make each car but, more importantly, are not wanted in large numbers by the consumer, and will All be made in...

The United Auto Workers (Uaw), one of the nation’s largest and most influential unions in the country, has endorsed Joe Biden for president.
The Uaw, which represents almost one million automobile industry workers, announced the endorsement Wednesday at their conference in Washington, D.C., shortly before Biden delivered an address to the conference.
“Rarely, as a union, do you get such a clear choice between two candidates,” Uaw President Shawn Fain said in his speech to the conference. In past strikes, Donald Trump “said nothing, did nothing, not a...

A supporter at Donald Trump’s rally in Michigan wildly waved his sign “auto workers for Trump” last month.
But the supporter raised questions when he later told the Detroit News that he was not, in fact, an auto worker.
The former president delivered a speech at Drake Enterprises, a parts supplier in Clinton Township, Detroit, in which he spoke about the concerns over electric vehicles.
Trump’s attendance came in response to the United Auto Workers’ continued strike against Ford, General Motors and Stellantis.
Trump told the rally attendees: “You can be loyal to American labor or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics.”
A journalist from the Detroit News asked another of the crowd members with a “Union Workers for Trump” placard about his involvement in the rally.
In conversation with the reporter, the individual admitted that he was not a member of a union.

The second season finale of The Wheel of Time achieved a lot with the plot, and it proved to be very exciting!
The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 finally saw all of our main characters make it to Falme and also fight their way through the town.
Also, an unexpected ally launched a full-out assault on the Seanchan.
The White Cloaks have always been a strange, menacing force in the series since we first got introduced to them on The Wheel of Time Season 1 Episode 2.
We don't know much about them other than that they hate anyone who channels the One Power (part of the reason for their attack on the Seanchan).
Even though our heroes are not fans of the White Cloaks (and neither are we), their attack against the Seanchan managed to help in some cases.
Perrin found Loial and Ingtar, and because of the ensuing battles, they...

The United Auto Workers went on strike against the Big Three car manufacturers earlier this month. The historic labor stoppage could have broad ramifications for the economy, the labor movement, and beyond — but it’s already having an impact on the 2024 presidential election.

Appearing in Michigan at a non-union auto parts manufacturer, former President Donald Trump blasted what he called “blood sucking globalists” attempting to “assassinate” the auto industry, and compared Joe Biden to a “wretched old vulture trying to finish off his prey.”
Backed by four American flags, Trump spoke to the factory crowd in a bar-room bluster. He hectored Uaw strikers, insisting, “I don’t think you’re picketing for the right thing.” And he argued that the Uaw should “endorse Trump” because, “if they don’t all they’re doing is committing suicide.

President Joe Biden traveled to Wayne, Michigan, on Tuesday to speak with striking autoworkers. It’s the first time in history a sitting president has joined a union picket line.
“Wall Street didn’t build this country,” Biden told a crowd of gathered workers. “The middle class built this country.”
Joe Biden at Uaw picket line: "Wall Street didn’t build this country, the middle class built this country. The unions built the middle class. That’s a fact. Let’s keep going, you deserve what you’ve earned. And...

The United Automobile Workers Union (Uaw) has denounced Donald Trump ahead of his plans to skip the GOP’s second presidential primary debate in favor of delivering a speech in Detroit, Michigan during a major auto workers strike.
“Every fiber of our union is being poured into fighting the billionaire class and an economy that enriches people like Donald Trump at the expense of workers,” said union president Shawn Fain in a statement on Tuesday.
“We can’t keep electing billionaires and millionaires that don’t have any understanding what...

The United Auto Workers want the Big Three automakers to share the wealth. The powerful union went on strike on Thursday after making aggressive demands including big raises and a restoration of old benefits. It’s the first time in history the Uaw has gone on strike against the three manufacturing behemoths at the same time.
For now, the action is limited in scope. The Uaw has stopped work at just three facilities, one plant for each company. But the union has vowed to secure its demands “by any means necessary.

Liz Craft and Sarah Fain have been working and writing together since they were fifteen. In television, they have partnered as writers and producers on several major network shows like The Fix, Lie To Me, and Dollhouse.
They are the dynamic duo behind the Fox hit revival of Fantasy Island, which has just finished its second season with an emotional and satisfying finale.
Speaking with TV Fanatic over Zoom (Days before the unfortunate news of the show's cancellation), the pair are as in sync discussing their show as they are in producing the whimsical yet thought-provoking series.
While the Fantasy Island IP has undergone a couple of revivals/reboots since the original series concluded in 1984, this is the first that truly builds on the legacy of Ricardo Montalban and his wish-granting domain.
Fain and Craft are honest about how they were fortunate to have several key pieces fall into place first,...
