As the synopsis for the episode teases, our favorite doctors will have plenty to keep them busy on Halloween and it seems tensions will be running high in the E.D. as Charles clashes with Jackie in the best course of action for a psych case. “Blurred Lines,” the fourth episode of “Chicago Med’s” tenth season takes a refreshingly nuanced approach to addiction and mental health, sidestepping tired tropes in Hannah’s (Jessy Schram) post-Eloise storyline. Rather than succumbing to a predictable relapse, Hannah actively manages her sobriety through Na meetings, a welcome departure from typical TV depictions of addiction. Her tendency […]

Fans of Chicago Med may be worried if Hannah will break her sobriety, and the showrunner weighs in on her challenges!
Since joining Chicago Med in Season 5, Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) has been a top face on the show. She came from a tough background as her mother died giving birth to her as she refused treatment for her illness. That drove Hannah to become a doctor herself.
What happened to Hannah in Chicago Med?
The pressures of her job took a toll on Hannah, and she turned to using heroin as a way to cope. She and Will Halstead had a relationship, but he didn’t like her drug use and resorted to planting drugs in her car to force Hannah into rehab. Even after that, it took a near-fatal overdose for Hannah to finally get herself help, which appeared to be the end of the character.

The October 2 episode of Chicago Med featured a pregnant patient who must have looked familiar to daytime fans. Days of Our Lives viewers who are also fans of the Chicago One franchise probably spotted Marci Miller. The actress played a character with physical and mental health issues.
Ex-Daytime Star on Primetime
Marci Miller (ex-Abigail Dimera) must have channeled her Days character for this primetime role. It all started when emergency room doctors at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center tended to her injuries after she fell down the stairs.
However, as Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) attempted to treat her, it was apparent that the pregnant woman had more issues that were not exactly physical. As a result, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt), the hospital’s resident psychiatrist, had to be called in to assess her.

In the time that’s passed since the Season 9 finale, Ripley (Luke Mitchell) has stayed quiet about what he does and doesn’t know about Pawel’s attack; Charles (Oliver Platt) and Liliana (Alet Taylor) have broken up since she thinks Ripley’s guilty of the attack; Crockett (Dominic Rains) has left for Boston; and Ripley and Hanna (Jessy Schram) are on a break (she doesn’t know if it’s “a Ross and Rachel break or a Brad and Angelina break”). A nearby hospital is closing its doors next week—but one of its docs, pediatrician John Frost (Darren Barnet), who endears himself to Maggie...

‘Chicago Med’: Luke Mitchell Teases ‘Unhinged’ Ripley, ‘Rocky’ Relationship With Hannah in Season 10
What exactly does Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) know about the attack on Pawel (Kristof Konrad)—his former patient who sued him blamed him when he was brought into the Ed—that ended last season of Chicago Med? That’s the question for the beginning of Season 10. That happened just as Ripley and Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) were making progress in their personal relationship—and she was among the staff standing by as he said nothing to defend himself before walking out in the finale in the spring. Then there’s also how this will affect his relationship with Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), given their complicated history from when Ripley was a kid. Below, Mitchell previews how Ripley’s doing at the beginning of Season 10, what’s ahead for him and Hannah, the new doctors coming in, and more. Let’s go back to that finale cliffhanger and...

Dr. Hannah Asher has had one of the more fascinating arcs over the course of Chicago Med. The character fell victim to a drug addiction earlier in the show, and was seemingly written off for good before returning in season 7.
Dr. Asher has really served as an anchor at Gaffney Medical Center, while so many of the characters around have either suffered personal tragedies and/or decided to leave for a fresh start elsewhere. It is hard to imagine the show without her, which is really saying something given how brief her initial stint was.

Chicago Pd lost more than a pivotal character when Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) decided to walk. The character was a detective, like her ex-husband, Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and their exits in seasons 10 and 11, respectively, stripped the Iu of any such ranking.
Basically, there's a ranking chasm heading into season 12. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) is a sergeant, but everybody else in the Iu is an officer. It's an odd discrepancy, and given how important Halstead and Upton were to the show during their respective runs, the upcoming season would benefit from having more characters with a detective in front of their name.

Chicago Med is in for at least one shakeup when it returns for its 10th season this September, with the departure of Dominic Rains (who plays Dr. Crockett Marcel). But the Season 9 finale cliffhanger left the future of Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) in question. Liliana’s brother, who had previously sued Ripley, was brought into the Ed after being attacked by a masked assailant with a baseball bat. He claimed that Ripley did it. When the police asked if he had anything to say, he shook his head and walked out. Among those watching and wondering why he didn’t say anything was Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram)—and this came as something was finally happening between the two of them. Now, Hannah doesn’t know what to think, says Schram. “She’s very unsettled, very confused,” Schram told TV Insider at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

When Hallmark fans watch their favorite romcoms and mystery series, this is a comfort watch. However, some of the same actresses who are acting in this frothier world can certainly bring a lot of grit to roles that are not on the network. That includes a couple who are working on two different series with Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan.
There are three new series that viewers may want to check out now and in the coming months.

On When Calls The Heart, Kayla Wallace portrays Suffragette Fiona Miller. While Fiona is pretty fearless, she does not seem anything like the character that Kayla portrays in Landman. In this Taylor Sheridan series, she portrays liability lawyer Rebecca Savage. This character is “capable and intimidating.” Moreover, she is in West Texas to “clean up a mess.

The long-running medical drama “Chicago Med” is set to undergo significant changes as it heads into its tenth season, with the departure of fan-favorite actor Dominic Rains, who has portrayed Dr. Crockett Marcel since the show’s fifth season.
Rains’ exit, confirmed by multiple sources, comes as a blow to many fans who have grown attached to his character over the past five years. Dr. Marcel, known for his complex backstory and compelling character development, had become a central figure in the series, especially following the departure of other long-standing cast members.
The Season 9 finale, titled “I Think I Know You, but Do I Really?”, seemed to foreshadow Marcel’s departure. In a poignant scene, the character struggled with the death of a young patient and the subsequent suicide of the patient’s father, events that triggered memories of his own daughter’s death from leukemia. Whoa! Chicago Med is about to enter its tenth season.
Chicago Med Season 9 ended with several cliffhangers that left viewers wondering whether one character was coming back.
This proved that there's plenty of life in the series a year after Nick Gehlfuss's (Will Halstead) exit.
Most of the cast is returning, so let's look at who's who ahead of Season 10.
Over Ten Years, How Much Has The Cast Changed?
Chicago Med's cast is remarkably stable, so once you learn who the characters are, you should be able to follow not only the new season, but many of the previous seasons.
A few characters have left over the years, but there is always a core of five or six characters you can count on to carry the show, and Season 10 won't be much different in that regard.

A new episode of Chicago Med debuts on Wednesday night, with the plot revolving around the transplant surgery for Dr. Dean Archer.
Archer has been dealing with kidney failure, but a donor finally surfaced in the form of his son. Now, his son is ready to give his father one of his kidneys.

Actor Steven Weber joined the Chicago Med cast in 2021, bringing energy on the opposite end of the spectrum from other Ed doctors.
Archer came over from the military and had a friendship with Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee).
The first Chicago Med Season 9 episode brought everyone up to speed on Archer’s predicament, introduced a new cast member, and revealed Dr. Daniel Charles has ties to the new guy.
