The official trailer for Blumhouse’s Imaginary will launch tomorrow, and as a teaser Lionsgate’s released a motion poster for the twisted horror film. The 20-second video introduces Chauncey, a stuffed teddy bear who’s neither imaginary nor your friend.
The cast of the 2024 release includes DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World Dominion), Tom Payne (Prodigal Son), Taegen Burns (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), and Pyper Braun (Erin & Aaron). Veronica Falcon (A Million Miles Away) and Betty Buckley (Preacher) also star.
Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island) directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. Wadlow and Jason Blum serve as producers.
“From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3GAN, comes an original horror film that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath?” reads Lionsgate’s synopsis.

Fox is flipping genders on Starsky & Hutch, developing a female-led reboot of the popular 1970s cop series, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The update — which hails from writers/showrunners Sam Sklaver (Prodigal Son) and Elizabeth Peterson (The Resident) — centers on Detectives Sasha Starsky and Nicole Hutchinson, who “solve crimes in the offbeat town of Desert City while staying true to their friendship, their awesomeness, and somehow also trying to unravel the mystery behind who sent their fathers to prison 15 years ago for a crime they didn’t commit.”

Because 1983’s “A Christmas Story” has achieved iconic status among holiday movies and has become a nostalgic cornerstone to millions of fans who revisit it every December, it’s easy to forget that the film’s initial success came from its skewering of nostalgia itself.
The original tagline ironically called the film “A Tribute to the Original, Traditional, One-Hundred-Percent, Red-Blooded, Two-Fisted, All-American Christmas,” and director Bob Clark’s adaptation of Jean Shepherd’s comic reminiscences struck a chord precisely because it revealed the greed, venality, occasional cruelty, and recognizably human behavior that lurked beneath the Norman Rockwell façade of hazy Yuletide memories.
After several unsuccessful attempts to craft a sequel to Clark’s film, we finally get “A Christmas Story Christmas,” which brings back several of the original movie’s cast members. While it spends perhaps too much of its running time either recreating or directly quoting moments from its 1983 predecessor,...

A Christmas Story‘s Flick is finally getting his payback, 39 years after Schwartz triple dog dared him to stick his tongue to the school flagpole.
