Jeremy Chavez is nothing short of driven and ambitious. Aspirations of becoming an actor came at a very young age. His natural charismatic personality distinguished him from his twin brother; and his athletically inclined abilities made him a role model for his younger brother. Growing up with a hard-working father and a stay a home mom, Jeremy was able to explore, hone, and master anything he set his mind to. At only 4 years old, he began his athletic career playing flag football. Gradually as the years went on, he ventured into tackle football, soccer, hockey, wrestling, and football. While excelling in football, wrestling and track through city championships, he acquired academic acknowledgements in National Junior Honor Society.
Highly motivated to live up to his best potential he joined band as a percussionist, playing the snare drummer in the symphonic band. Awards at the annual Apple Blossom Festival led him to becoming head of the drum section in the Sun City Marching band. While earning awards in his endeavors, he continued to shape his skills joining JROTC, drama club, boys cupboard, black action, key club and Spanish club. Hard work and dedication are imbrued into Jeremy's character. It comes as second nature to success, provide and protect. At the age of 15, Chavez begin his working career, he was employed as a Sandwich artist at Subway. His outgoing personality and his love for music started his career as a Disk Jockey at the age of 16 going by the name DJ Jazzy J after one of his favorite DJ (DJ Jazzy Jeff). Through the years Chavez wanted to change his name to stand out on his own, and so DJ ILLMATIC was born in 2010. Jeremy met the challenge of balancing work, school and his extracurriculars. He finished his academic and athletic career strong.
Going into the 9th grade he continued his athletic and academic career earning academic letters and being one of three kids to wrestle Varsity as a freshman. Also helping his football team to a 8-2 season his freshman year. Also, running track on junior varsity as a freshman. Continuing to stay a scholar athlete Chavez played football throughout his high school career earning a perfect season his senior year (10-0) and helping his team to a 3A State Playoff run that sadly ended at the semifinal game in November of 2009. Wrestling his freshman, junior and senior years, running track freshman and sophomore years, playing baseball junior year, and swimming his senior year. During high school he became Vice President of the student council as a freshman, sophomore, and junior, earning the title of Student Vice Body President his senior year. Continuing his success in band he was lead snare in the Pueblo Pride City Marching Band earning awards and acknowledgements in the Colorado State Fair Parade.
After high school Chavez continued playing sports including, semiprofessional football for the local teams the Pueblo Steel and the Steel City Rage; also playing recreational sports like softball, kickball and adult hockey. Along with amateur wrestling with the local club Iron Hills Championship Wrestling. After the birth of his son, Chavez decided to pick up a second job working at Sam's Club. Once he was promoted to supervisor, he decided to leave his position at Subway after 8 years. Then, in 2016 he was hired on as a corrections officer for the Colorado department of corrections. While with the department Chavez joined the search/escape team and after three years and the birth of his daughter; he ventured off to pursue his goal of becoming a successful actor. Chavez packed up and moved to Las Vegas Nevada, to study acting at 1 Media Productions under veteran Actor/Director/Producer Dan Hewitt Owens. Alongside award-winning actress and screenwriter Chelsy Leigh Jackson, Chavez has partaken in multiple films learning and bettering himself with the help of Owens and Jackson. Determined to succeed, he deems himself the second biggest thing to come out of Pueblo, Colorado the first being the world-famous home-grown Pueblo Green Chile. For Jeremy A. Chavez, this is only the beginning of his journey, for everyone else it's the rise of a star.
