Daniel Sunjata, Judy Reyes and Kaitlin Olson in ‘High Potential’ episode 6 (Disney/Carlos Lopez-Calleja)
ABC’s High Potential episode six opens with a young woman named Sam waking up in her boss’ office, hungover with no idea what happened the night before. It looks like the office has been trashed, but that’s not the worst of it. Nope, not by a long shot. Sam’s boss, Elaine, is lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood.
Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) is in the middle of a little spring cleaning when Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) calls requesting her presence at Metkair TechCorp. The company leases the entire floor, and last night they hosted a party celebrating the launch of a new product. Lindsay Lohan is putting the “secret” in “secret santa” in the trailer for her new Netflix Christmas movie.
“Our Little Secret” sees Lohan and Ian Harding (“Pretty Little Liars”) play two resentful exes who are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings. Other cast members include Tim Meadows, Jon Rudnitsky, Henry Czerny, Judy Reyes, Chris Parnell, Dan Bucatinsky, Katie Baker, Jake Brennan, Ash Santos and Brian Unger.
“It’s so beautiful to be able to do films that are associated with holidays because it’s family time,” Lohan said, who serves as executive producer as well as star. “When you can make a movie that families can remember and come together to see, it makes it all the more special.”

Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding lead Netflix’s upcoming holiday movie as vengeful exes who swear to keep their past under wraps.
In the trailer for “Our Little Secret,” Lohan’s Avery prepares to spend the holidays with her boyfriend’s family for the first time, and her boyfriend’s mother (Kristin Chenoweth) is proving to be bit of an obstacle from the minute she arrives, commenting her screw-top wine bottle is “fast and easy” while glaring at Avery.
As she enters the holiday festivities, she’s met with an even bigger problem when she sees her ex, Logan (Harding), be introduced as the boyfriend of her boyfriend’s sister. The trailer flashes back to 10 years ago, when Avery desperately asks Logan not to propose to her.
With her first impression on the line, Avery drags Logan into a room and begs him, “You cannot tell anyone about us — the...

What is this show? Who are the writers? How does High Potential keep getting better with every episode? There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe how amazing this show is.
If there is one mama bear you don’t want to mess with, it’s Morgan Gillory. Especially one who looks as fabulous as Miss Morgan while bringing criminals to justice.
High Potential walks the tightrope of hilarious comedy and thrilling drama with all the grace of a potentially long-running series.

Audiences will see Morgan and the team deep in the danger and chaos of another case in High Potential Season 1 Episode 4! And I thought the knife-wielding bartender from the previous episode was a slippery situation.
The series certainly isn’t letting off the gas anytime soon. The training wheels are coming off, and it’s time for Morgan to sink or swim.
Since High Potential is a series that boasts as much heart as it does brain power, there’s a good chance there will be quite a few tear-worthy moments.

Audiences are likely to experience every emotion under the sun from watching a single episode of High Potential.

Would you like a “Scrubs” revival, where J.D. (Zach Braff), Elliot (Sarah Chalke), and the rest of the original gang return, or a “Scrubs” reboot, with a new group of medical interns in the same dramedy format? Why not both? That’s what creator Bill Lawrence is proposing.

As all you savvy TV enthusiasts know, a series revival is a continuation of a previously existing show. A series reboot is a reimagining of a show, which often involves new actors playing established characters, a new setting, etc.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “High Potential” Episode 3.
In ABC’s “High Potential,” Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan is doubted by nearly everyone in the LAPD as she rises from a janitor to a police consultant, except for Lieutenant Selena Soto, played by Judy Reyes.
Instead of judging Morgan’s unconventional style, Reyes’ Soto becomes Morgan’s biggest ally, accepting her ultimatum for a raise and childcare as Morgan juggles several gigs as a single mother. As Morgan balances suspicion from Detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), Soto becomes somewhat of a safe place for Morgan, which Reyes said reflects her character’s empathy.

Actress Kaitlin Olson is demonstrating her versatility through her leading performance in the ABC crime drama “High Potential.” Olson, best known for her long-running comedic role on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” stars as Morgan, a civilian consultant assisting the Los Angeles Police Department. In a recent episode of “High Potential,” Olson comfortably blended humor with profound dramatic moments.
The episode saw Morgan take on her first case, which involved an attempted murder, mistaken identity, theft, and an actual murder. While Olson utilizes her comedic skills to distinguish the show from typical crime dramas, critics have praised her nuanced dramatic acting.
In a pivotal scene, Morgan’s supervisor Captain Selena, played by Judy Reyes, offers Morgan hope about the long-unsolved disappearance of her husband 15 years ago. Olson subtly conveyed Morgan’s relief and renewed hope through complex emotions.
The show also efficiently addresses potential challenges for Morgan in her new career.

Kaitlin Olson in ‘High Potential’ episode 2 (Disney/Mitch Hasseth)
ABC’s High Potential episode two begins with two talented tap dancers shooting a video on the roof of a building. The scene switches to ground level and shows one of the dancers falling from the roof and landing on a parked car. But how did he fall? Was he pushed? “Dancers in the Dark” is all about finding the answers.
Episode one introduced Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom of three who possesses a 160+ Iq, causing her to obsess over, well, everything. A quick montage of possible outfits for her first day is followed by breakfast served by her daughter, Ava, and son, Elliot. Since Mom’s got a decent job now, financially, things will be looking up. They can even get their car fixed and won’t have to rely on public transportation anymore.

We may only be two episodes into High Potential, but Kaitlin Olson and ABC have a certified hit on their hands!
I am not usually a procedural kind of guy. However, this show is making me reevaluate my interests! Miss Morgan is a whole vibe, and despite her eccentric nature, I feel like I know people like her — including people with a wealth of random knowledge.
High Potential has proven that it’s a series with enough potential to last for years. Interestingly, I’ve heard it both ways about this show. Some people were hooked instantly and loved it. Others didn’t find the character relatable and took issue with a few aspects of the show.

I am here to tell you that I heard you, and there are things I can agree with from both camps.

High Potential just debuted on ABC with a compelling new mystery-solving sleuth, but could we get some romance as well? The showrunner has chimed in!
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for the High Potential premiere
The pilot for the new ABC series spotlighted Morgan Guillory (Kaitlin Olson), a single mom working as the cleaning lady at an LAPD police station. To the shock of the cops, while messing around, Morgan rearranges a murder board to say the person they think is the killer of a rich man is likely a victim.
Brought in by Detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), Morgan expertly detailed what the cops were getting wrong with the case and how a supposed video of a suspect was altered. It turns out Morgan has a 160 Iq, which, on the one hand, allows her to see patterns others don’t and figure things out. The downside is that it makes...

I know what you're thinking, not another crime procedural on broadcast. They're a dime a dozen. They're formulaic. The consultant leads tend to outwit and outsmart their police partners or make law enforcement look like they can't do their jobs competently. I get it. But at the same time, these tropes of the genre are just a part of the playbook, the real essence of these shows lies in how well they can take these paint by numbers elements and make them feel different and give the audience not only a reason to tune in but to also keep watching. High Potential succeeds in this with its pilot episode.
We're introduced to Morgan Guillory, played wonderfully by Kaitlin Olson who's best known for her comedic work. Hers is the kind of character that upon looking at her you think she's quirky. That we're about to be lured in by an...

After making a name for herself as one of the four ne’er-do-wells of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, Kaitlin Olson is entering the world of network procedurals in ABC’s “High Potential” in a move that even surprised herself.
“My agent brought this idea to me and gave me a summary, and I was like, ‘Wow, that sounds like not at all what I was thinking that I would do next,'” Olson told TheWrap, adding that her mind was quickly changed after reading series creator Drew Goddard’s script. “It’s so hard to balance a character and heart and soul with a dramatic procedural — it just needs a certain intelligence, talent and creativity to be able to do that, and I just thought he did it so seamlessly.”

In the grand TV tradition of quirky, unqualified free spirits teaming up with police to solve crimes, ABC on Tuesday introduced viewers to High Potential, starring Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Morgan Gillory, an eagle-eyed cleaning lady who inadvertently gets hired as a consultant for the LAPD.
Despite her brazen demeanor and flashy wardrobe, Morgan’s obsessive attention to detail and higher-than-average Iq makes her a valuable asset to the team, much to the chagrin of Detective Karadec (Graceland‘s Daniel Sunjata), who prefers a more by-the-books approach to investigating crimes. Still, after Morgan helps the...

High Potential is making its debut on ABC. The new procedural, which flits between comedy and drama, stars Kaitlin Olson as a genius who gets hired as a police consultant after she makes a break in a case that changes the tide of the investigation. Her decision to highlight what they'd missed takes her from cleaning the precinct to helping to solve crimes with Det. Karadec who is definitely not as free spirited as Morgan nor would he bring children to a crime scene but, hey, Morgan is a single mother with three kids, where she goes they go if that's what has to happen.

Another fall TV season is upon us, which means a fresh batch of network procedurals that can roughly be described as The ____ Who Solves Crimes. (Lucifer, The Devil Who Solves Crimes! Sleepy Hollow, The Ichabod Crane Who Solves Crimes!) ABC’s latest entry in the genre, High Potential — premiering Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 10/9c; I’ve seen the first three episodes — is basically The Genius Single Mom Who Solves Crimes, and it honestly doesn’t do much to reinvent the procedural wheel. But it’s still a satisfying underdog tale with a sly sense of humor, thanks to a fantastic lead performance from Kaitlin Olson.

“Shōgun” dominated the second and final night of the 76th Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday, taking home the most awards with 14 and putting itself in prime position for the main ceremony on Sept. 15. The celebration began early for the FX drama when it collected the evening’s first award, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, for Nestor Carbonell’s performance in the episode “Anjin.”

Kaitlin Olson isn’t a regular mom-turned-crime scene investigator — she’s a cool mom-turned-crime scene investigator.
ABC has released the official trailer for High Potential, a new dramedy in which Olson stars as Morgan, a single mother whose remarkable ability to spot specific details lands her a job helping the authorities crack tough cases. Or as her daughter puts it, Morgan is “a single mom with three kids pretending to be a cop.” Morgan prefers “consulting” over “pretending,” but we’ll let that slide for now.
