[This story includes major spoilers from Outer Banks season four, part one.]
The first half of Outer Banks season four ended with several cliffhangers for the Pogues, many of which should be resolved, to some degree, in the second half of the season.
Over on Kildare Island, Rudy Pankow’s JJ probably gets the biggest bomb dropped on him when he learns that he’s not the son of his alcoholic and abusive father, Luke (Gary Weeks). His birth parents are actually the late Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) — making him the kind of person he hates, a Kook, and the grandson of Wes Genrette (David Jansen).
“It plays out in a series of outbursts,” Pankow tells The Hollywood Reporter of how this news will land with perhaps the Pogue-iest of the Pogues when the show returns Nov. 7 with the final episodes. “I think it’s an identity crisis in Part Two.”

It all comes down to this! Only one episode of Outer Banks season 4 part 1 left, and it’s a good one.
In the last few minutes of season 4 episode 4, Sheriff Shoupe (Callum Moss) shows up at the house to talk to JJ (Rudy Pankow). John B (Chase Stokes) was trying to decide what to do. Luckily, he makes a good decision!
Shoupe doesn’t find Terrance’s body, but he knows JJ is lying about Wes
In Outer Banks season 4 episode 5, “Albatross,” Shoupe questions JJ about the situation at the Break when JJ threatened the Kooks after Ruthie tried to run them over. Then, Shoupe asks JJ about what happened at the hyperbaric chamber.
Shoupe shows JJ some photos of the dead guy that turned up on the beach. JJ denies knowing the dead guy, which is true. Then, Shoupe asks JJ where they were on Saturday night, the night Wes Genrette (David Jensen) died.

Somehow the Pogues don’t notice that Cleo (Carlacia Grant) went missing at the Outer Banks season 4 episode 3, “The Lupine Corsairs.” Well, they obviously get distracted in the first part of Outer Banks season 4 episode 4, “The Swell,” because it’s a Swell Day, and they’re headed to the beach.
The bad guys featuring Captain Terrance (Terence Rosemore) and Lightner (Rigo Sanchez) text the Pogues from Cleo’s phone and tell them that she’s busy with the fish. With the Pogues heading to the beach, the bad guys are going to try to steal the amulet from the Pogues with Cleo’s help. She knows where it is, and Terrance tries to convince her to give them what they’re asking for or they’ll kill them both.

It’s the Pogues vs. Sheriff Shoupe (Cullen Moss) in the first scene of Outer Banks season 4 episode 3, “The Lupine Corsairs.”
At the end of the second episode, the Pogues minus JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Kie (Madison Bailey) stumbled upon an active crime scene. Then, Shoupe starts interviewing John B (Chase Stokes), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant). They actually tell the truth, mostly. Of course, they left out the important part that they actually found Elizabeth’s amulet.
Then, the Pogues bump into the last person to see Wes (David Jensen) alive, Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), his own son-in-law. And, let’s be real. He’s shady for real for real. He tells Pope and the gang that he intends to honor the deal that Wes made with the Pogues.
At this point in the series, the Pogues are getting pretty good at picking up vibes.

The Pogues are about to embark on their next adventure in Outer Banks season 4 episode 2, “Blackbeard.”
Remember, at the end of season 3, the Pogues were approached by Wes Genrette (David Jensen), a mysterious old man, who wants the Pogues’ help in finding Blackbeard’s treasure. We saw that again in the season 4 premiere. For a time, it looked like they were just going to dive right in, but there’s a lot more to Wes’s interest in Blackbeard’s treasure.

It seemed like the Pogues were ready to leave their treasure hunting life behind after finding El Dorado and the stack of gold. I mean, it looked like they definitely had enough to probably live out the rest of their lives comfortably. Well, that's not the case as the Outer Banks season 4 part 1 trailer reveals.
The 10-episode season has been split into two parts, with the first five episodes coming Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024 and the final five dropping on Thursday, Nov. 7. Of course the Pogues aren’t just going to celebrate a win and be content to lead normal lives. If that were true, there wouldn’t be much to Outer Banks season four. The teaser for the upcoming season warns that they’ve got everything to lose and promises this will be their biggest adventure to date.

“Outer Banks” is about to embark on its biggest adventure to date: finding Blackbeard’s treasure. And Netflix has shared a first teaser and several first look images to celebrate the occasion.
The fourth season of the Netflix original will premiere its first five episodes on Oct. 10 followed by five more episodes on Nov. 7.
Season 3 ended with a flash-forward 18 months into the future that showed the Pogues being commended for finding El Dorado, the lost city of gold. In that season’s final moments, a man approached the friends and asked them if they would be interested in finding the lost treasure of Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard. But Season 4 will start before the tempting offer. Watch the first teaser below.

They may have found the gold, but the challenges are only going to get worse: Netflix has dropped a new teaser for season 4 of Outer Banks, which will be split into two 5-episode parts. Part 1 will drop October 10, followed by Part 2 on November 7.
Here’s the logline for the new season: Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the Obx and commit to having a “normal” life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0”, where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into...

Five years ago, with Beto O’Rourke mounting an electrifying campaign to unseat Ted Cruz from the U.S. Senate, Democrats seemed hopeful that the political winds were shifting in Texas to one day make it a purple state. He ultimately lost by 2.6 percent amid a record turnout for a mid-term election.
Since then, Democratic hopes for turning Texas into a swing state have diminished. In the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump made gains with Hispanic voters. And the state legislature has become increasingly conservative with a host of bills signed this year by Republican Governor Greg Abbott that include barring public universities from creating Dei offices, banning transgender athletes from college sports, and restricting labor rights. In 2022, abortion was banned in the state following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Exclusive: The fourth and final season of Kit Williamson’s Emmy-nominated Lgbtq series Eastsiders will be available on Netflix on December 1.
Thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $140,000 from fans, Eastsiders, a co-production with Wolfe Video, will be back with a fourth season that picks up with the Silver Lake gang one year later. Executive produced by Williamson and his husband John Halbach, who also star, the six-episode Season 4 tackles heavy, adult-world questions like how do two human beings make love last? What does commitment really look like in a long-term relationship? And what unique challenges does a “gay marriage” present?
Cal (Williamson) and Thom (Van Hansis) are back home from Season 3’s cross-country road trip, still a couple but wondering if they are really just best friends with benefits. Douglas (Willam Belli) and Quincy (Stephen Guarino) are engaged to be married, but with very different ideas about what a gay wedding should be.
