2025 promises to be a jam-packed year for MCU content, though The Fantastic Four: First Steps remains one of the year's most highly anticipated releases. The reboot has been a long time coming and with WandaVision director Matt Shakman calling the shots, it feels like we're in store for something special.
We've known for a while that H.E.R.B.I.E. will feature in the movie as the adorable Highly Engineered Robot Built for Interdimensional Exploration was teased in the first promo poster.
Now, The Cosmic Circus brings word that British actor and puppeteer Jack Parker is bringing H.E.R.B.I.E. to life in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He's previously played Pip in The Acolyte and Shrinker in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and counts the likes of the live-action How to Train Your Dragon and Snow White among his upcoming credits.
It's unclear whether Parker will also voice H.E.R.B.

Following Disney CEO Bob Chapek's ousting from the studio, Bob Iger returned to his executive role and attempted to course-correct the company's film, streaming, and theme park offerings.
In the case of Marvel Studios, it was time to get back to quality over quantity. Despite that, 2025 will still see the release of 10 big and small screen titles from Marvel Studios, Marvel Television, and Marvel Animation as we race towards the end of the Multiverse Saga.
One of the reasons for this jam-packed year is 2023's Hollywood strikes, though some of these movies and TV shows have seemingly sat on the shelf for at least the past couple of years. Regardless, in the wake of a leak revealing the planned premiere windows for four upcoming series, we're breaking down everything Marvel that's heading our way in 2025.

Spooky season is here, which means it’s time for movies featuring all manner of ghouls, creeps, and monsters. And there may be no monster more famous than Count Dracula, the blood-sucking vampire introduced in Bram Stoker’s gothic horror novel Dracula. He’s appeared onscreen countless times in various iterations – far too many to list here. But here are a few notable Dracula adaptations to sink your teeth into this Halloween.

Vampires have fascinated filmmakers since the early days of cinema. Director F.W. Murnau’s 1922 Nosferatu is an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula. The movie was nearly lost to history when all copies were ordered destroyed after Stoker’s widow sued for copyright infringement. But a print survived, and the movie has gone on to become an influential classic. (The Witch director Robert Eggers’ remake is due out later this year.

Shortly after the main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced, several supporting players were added to the Marvel Studios reboot, but their characters were not disclosed.
We'd be very surprised if Paul Walter Hauser wasn't playing the villainous Mole Man, and there's speculation that John Malkovich may have been cast as Doctor Franklin Storm. As for Natasha Lyonne, the most popular theory is Ben Grimm's love-interest Alicia Masters, but some believe she may provide the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot.
Whoever the Poker Face star is playing, she has now finished filming her scenes for the movie.
Lyonne was asked about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe during a brief interview with Et. She expressed her excitement about being a part of the franchise, but was very careful not to disclose anything about her role.

Amazon MGM declined comment. Specifics as to the plot of the film are under wraps for the moment.
Helm comes to The Killing Kind after working in the same vein as the co-writer of Deep Water, the erotic thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, from Fatal Attraction‘s Adrian Lyne. Well acquainted with various genres, he’s perhaps best known for writing Stranger Than Fiction, the beloved Columbia Pictures dramedy starring Will Ferrell, which brought him nominations at both the WGA Awards and the Critics Choice Awards. A celebrated playwright whose play Good Canary was most recently directed by John Malkovich in London, Helm also wrote and directed 20th Century Fox’s family film Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium,...

There’s a micro and a macro narrative at work in writer/director Ethan Berger’s fraternity thriller The Line. On one hand, it’s a small-scale drama about Tom Backster (Alex Wolff), a promising young man who begins to question his involvement in a fraternity at prestigious Sumter College. On the grand scale, it’s a scathing indictment of how fraternities – the gateway to influence, success, and politics – are toxic, hypocritical, and ultimately dangerous.
When the film opens, Tom has a reassuring final breakfast with his concerned mother (Cheri Oteri) before heading off to sophomore year. He’s excited about living in the Kna fraternity, reuniting with his loud and boisterous best friend Mitch (Cobra Kai’s Bo Mitchell), and maybe stepping into the shoes of frat president Todd (Salem’s Lot‘s Lewis Pullman).
Things almost immediately go awry when Mitch develops an antagonistic relationship with a pledge...

The Line is a brilliant new drama that marks an exciting turn for up and coming director Ethan Berger. To mark the film’s release, we had the pleasure in speaking to both the aforementioned filmmaker, alongside his leading man Alex Wolff, who turns in a compelling performance, with what is a complex character to bring to life.
We discuss the film’s dark themes, leading into a conversation about contemporary fraternity culture in America, and the toxic and dangerous masculinity that comes with it. On a lighter note, we chat about the brilliance of two of the film’s supporting stars, Scoot McNairy & John Malkovich.
Watch the full interview with Alex Wolff and Ethan Berger here:
Synopsis

Keanu Reeves has been an absolute favorite of many film critics and audiences. His career has been very interesting since this actor has been open to starring in almost any genre. However, he has been mostly known for his action-driven films. For example, a lot of action movie lovers recognize him for the Matrix films and John Wick series. What they don’t know is how he has struggled in his personal life as well as experimented with other genres.
Reeves was born on September 2nd, 1964, in Beirut, Lebanon. He was raised in Toronto, Canada. He is of Chinese-Hawaiian descent from his father’s side. His father was a geologist. Reeves had a mother that worked in the industry as a performer and later designed costumes. His parents divorced nonetheless. He ended up residing with his mother and sister. As he got older, he developed a keen interest in acting.

A new photo has been shared from the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring a who's who of Marvel Comics talent.
That includes C.B. Cebulski, David Bogart, Tom Brevoort, Alan Davis, Heather Davis, Chip Zdarsky, Dan Slott, Mark Bagley, Matt Fraction, Ryan North, Sara Pichelli, Tom DeFalco, a mix of writers, artists, and editors who have all contributed to the Fantastic Four mythos.
However, the biggest talking point is a new look at Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm in 1960s-style garb. In the background, we see a couple of blue spacesuits featuring the iconic "4" logo.
Are those what Marvel's First Family wore when they travelled into outer space and acquired their fantastic powers? Whatever the case may be, the design is awesome, especially as the "4" has also been incorporated into the helmets.

Ethan Berger’s debut film The Line shines a light on fraternity culture from the inside. We follow sophomore Tom Baxter through his second year as a member of the fictional Kappa Nu Alpha brotherhood. All seems well until the arrival of a new pledge named Gettys, whose cocky attitude threatens to upset the delicate status quo.
As a writer-director who extensively researched the Greek system, Berger aims to offer an authentic perspective on both the compelling bonds of brotherhood as well as some of the more troubling behaviors that can fester within these walls. Through a tightly crafted script and strong performances, he examines how this environment fosters toxic masculinity, class divisions, and the empty promises of prestige that pressure young men to conform.
The intensity builds from the frat house basement up, pulling viewers deep into this secretive world. We watch characters wrestle with loyalty against conscience as...

The Line is unpleasant. But then it should be, shouldn’t it? Written by Ethan Berger and Alex Russek and directed by Berger in his feature debut, this is a film about a college fraternity and all of the horrible sins committed in the name of tradition and brotherhood. Alex Wolff stars as Tom, a sophomore with bad grades but a good reputation among his fraternity, Kna. Their president, Todd, has Tom pegged as his replacement. The film takes place during the pledge period in which a new batch of freshmen are tortured and tested so that they might earn the privilege of joining Kna.
One pledge stands out: Gettys (Austin Abrams), a handsome young man with an ego and attitude. Tom’s roommate and frat brother Mitch (Bo Mitchell) quickly hates Gettys. The feeling is mutual. Unfortunately, Todd takes Gettys under his wing, quick to explain to Tom that...

Plot: Tom is a scholarship student desperate to break free from his working-class background. He is charmed by the prestigious Kna fraternity’s promises of high social status and alumni connections that open doors. But upon beginning a romance with Annabelle, a classmate outside of his social circle, and the manipulative schemes of his fraternity president unfolding during the hazing of new members, Tom finds himself ensnared in a perilous game of ambition and loyalty.
Review: Few cultures have proven as toxic as fraternities and sororities. Over the years, hazing has transformed from comedy fodder in films like Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds to the notorious stuff of headline news. Countless frats across the United States have been shuttered due to criminal activity that has resulted in jail time and even deaths. Alex Wolff recognized himself in “The Line” — or rather, what any American man could be.
The actor leads writer/director Ethan Berger’s feature debut as a college scholarship student who tries to assimilate by joining a frat. The critically-acclaimed film is set in 2014 and spotlights an all-star cast including Austin Abrams, Lewis Pullman, Halle Bailey, Bo Mitchell, Denise Richards, John Malkovich, and Scoot McNairy. Late “Euphoria” star Angus Cloud, who died in 2023, also gives a standout performance in one of his final roles.
“The Line” subtly captures the racism, misogyny, and entitlement that are paramount to college Greek life. But the script, which is co-written by Alex Russek, most poignantly emphasizes the frat brother-on-brother violence of hazing that mirrors the evolutionary masculine animalistic need to exert power in any way possible.
According to Wolff, that abuse of privilege is what makes “The Line” even more harrowingly resonant during an election year: Yes,...

New York Comic-Con is starting to heat up, and before the panels get underway (The Penguin's is just starting), Marvel Studios has unveiled a new mural spotlighting several MCU heroes and villains.
Though he (or she?) did appear briefly in the leaked trailer, the banner gives us a first proper look at H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. We also get our best look yet at Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) from Captain America: Brave New World, a silhouetted glimpse of some of the Thunderbolts, and more.
We're still not sure who is providing the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E., but there's some speculation that it might be Natasha Lyonne, whose role in the upcoming reboot has yet to be confirmed.

Long-time Marvel Studios composer/filmmaker Michael Giacchino unveiled his main theme for The Fantastic Four: First Steps earlier this year during D23, and the Werewolf By Night director has now touched on the things he felt the score needed to convey.
While speaking to Brandon Davis for his YouTube show, Giacchino said he thought the theme should "have a sense of hope and optimism in a way that, quite frankly, no other Marvel movie has done yet."
"I kinda wanted this to feel like, ‘Oh, this is really just about a family that's up against something really hard,’” he added. "In the end, they live in this era of optimism, and hope, and discovery, and advancement in science and tech, and I thought it would be really fun to highlight that."

Nobody thinks they’ve got an accent, which means they really notice when someone is imitating their accent so badly that it borders on mockery. For instance, most Americans would describe their own speech as “normal,” but have you ever heard a foreign actor just completely bomb it? If not, go watch Iwan Rheon pretend to be an American rock star in The Dirt, Just his scenes, though. That movie is a lot.
That’s why it’s all the more impressive when they get it right, even if, by the nature of getting it right, you never even notice. “In high school, I remember people being shocked to learn Hugh Laurie was English when House was huge,” Redditor homeMalone89 told r/Movies. “I think Daniel Kaluuya’s American accent work is the best there currently is.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently filming at Durdle Door in Dorset, England, and Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm/Human Torch has been spotted in full costume.
Based on what little we see here, Johnny walks down the beach alone before moodily standing on the coast while watching the tide come in. It's hard to say where this is meant to be doubling for, though the Torch may have found his way to the UK. The iconic tourist location may also be doubling for an alien planet.
If we're lucky, the rest of Marvel's First Family will also be spotted suited up in the coming weeks. The only other member of the team spotted since shooting started is The Thing who, at the time, was being brought to life with a practical costume.

Writer-director Ethan Berger’s The Line wastes no time confirming all of our worst assumptions about Greek life. The opening credits play alongside photographs of American fraternities over the centuries, the fashions changing but the smirking white faces staying just the same. The very first interaction between Tom (Alex Wolff) and the rest of his modern-day fraternity brothers reveals them to be exactly the sort of big-mouthed, small-minded jackoffs that pop culture usually presents them as.
When Tom is with his fellow frat members, he’s all braggadocio and sexual innuendo. He even adopts an accent that his mother (Cheri Oteri) describes as a “faux Forrest Gump” in order to sound more like them. But while the other brothers are the scions of rich and powerful families—the fraternity loves to boast about how many future presidents and Fortune 500 CEOs the Kna has housed—Tom is a scholarship kid who...

Like the X-Men, Marvel Studios didn't acquire the Fantastic Four franchise until the Disney/Fox merger in 2019. We're still waiting to see a new take on mutants but, rather than add Marvel's First Family to Earth-616 over a decade-and-a-half after Iron Man's debut, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will take place in an alternate reality.
That's allowed filmmaker Matt Shakman to set the action in a futuristic 1960s which pays homage to the team's earliest comic book adventures.
While we expect them to eventually end up calling Earth-616 home, there's been a lot of speculation about whether we'll get to see some very different takes on other superheroes when we meet this new Fantastic Four.
In a resurfaced, and previously overlooked, interview from this past July's San Diego Comic-Con (via MSN), Shakman confirms that the foursome are their world's only superheroes.

Had Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 happened, we'd have seen Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker do battle with John Malkovich's Vulture. Instead, when Marvel Studios rebooted the web-slinger, it was former Batman Michael Keaton who donned the villain's wings in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Rather than returning in Spider-Man: No Way Home - which was the original plan - Keaton reprised his role as The Vulture in Morbius. After mistakenly being sent to that world, a surprisingly calm Toomes was freed from prison and later attempted to recruit the Living Vampire to a team of some sort.
It remains one of the worst comic book movie post-credits scenes ever but could the actor show up as Adrian Toomes in the upcoming Spider-Man 4?
"Oh, wow. That's an interesting character, that guy," Keaton responded when Screen Rant asked the question. "Actually, I was there for a minute in the second one.

We've been hearing whispers of a Silver Surfer project for quite a while at this stage, and it seems Marvel Studios is still planning to give the space-faring hero the spotlight in his (or her?) own solo outing down the line.
A previous rumor claimed that The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman's multi-year deal with Marvel could potentially include helming episodes of a Silver Surfer Disney+ series, while another indicated that it was actually a Special Presentation that was in the works.
While it's not clear if this project is being developed for the big or small screen, insider Daniel Richtman is reporting that the Sentinel of the Spaceways is still in the works, and Shakman is on board as a producer.
The question is: Which version of the Surfer will this project focus on?

Alex Wolff slides into a plush chair at the Mandarin Oriental in New York’s Columbus Circle and orders a massive breakfast. By his own admission, he’s hungover, but he looks perfectly put together in that East Village kind of way. The Nickelodeon star-turned-“Pig” breakout is wearing a hoodie with the words “San Francisco” emblazoned across the front, the type a tourist might pick up at Fisherman’s Wharf, paired with Alex Crane pants. The previous night, he hit the premiere for “A Quiet Place: Day One”; the latest entry in the Paramount horror franchise finds Wolff playing a hospice nurse who convinces a terminal Lupita Nyong’o to trek into the city just as an alien invasion unfolds.
“I never really let loose at a premiere. I just get nervous,” he explains. “And then afterwards, I’ll go to some pub and get wasted.”

“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” Ah, wise words indeed! Honestly, who hasn’t employed that strategy at the office potluck? It’s a jungle out there, and sometimes, it’s a fight for the last slice of pizza. Speaking of survival—and let’s be real, a whole lot of drama—let’s dive into the cinematic masterpiece that is The Godfather.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on Mario Puzo’s novel, The Godfather tells the story of an Italian American mob family navigating life from the 1940s to the 1970s. It’s not your typical family drama; it features power struggles, betrayals, and plenty of intense dinners.
The film kicks off with Marlon Brando, who plays the crime boss and legendary Godfather, Vito Corleone. Then there’s Al Pacino as Michael, Vito’s youngest son. In...

Ethan Berger’s critically acclaimed narrative filmmaking debut “The Line” has had a long road to the big screen. The feature was in development for decade, with lead star and executive producer Alex Wolff eventually proving instrumental in bringing the dark fraternity thriller to the big screen. The film premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, but even with strong reviews, it wasn’t picked up by distributor Utopia until more than a year later.
Now, almost a year and a half since “The Line” first wowed audiences at Tribeca, the film is getting a national release — and should be required viewing for any college-bound kid or university alum.
Berger, who began his career as an editor before directing commercials and writing ESPN’s mini-series “More Than an Athlete,” writes and directs “The Line.” The drama is set in 2014, and centers on Tom (Wolff), a scholarship student who tries to assimilate by joining a frat.

Neon’s cerebral horror feature Cuckoo had to perform more than a few clever maneuvers on its flight path to theaters.
Like many projects, the coronavirus pandemic pushed its 2020 start date. Then, delays on lead Hunter Schafer’s HBO hit Euphoria resulted in Cuckoo being pushed even further, which led to some castmembers needing to move on to other commitments, forcing the production to pivot to find new actors to join Schafer.
Writer-director’s Tilman Singer’s project was finally headed toward preproduction in West Germany when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, resulting in the German government taking Cuckoo’s filming locations to house Ukrainian refugees. It was a more than necessary response to a humanitarian crisis, something the Cuckoo team understood. But it left the production in need of other locales to shoot.

When it comes to Hollywood’s top names, Matt Damon definitely fits the bill. He’s been in the game for a long time, having kicked off his career at a young age. By the 1990s, he was already considered one of the rising stars, right up there with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio. As the years went by, he gained even more recognition, starring in films that are still iconic today.

Damon dives into a range of genres, though he’s best known for his action films. Over his career, he’s been nominated for numerous awards and even won an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Despite this, there are still a few of his films that haven’t gotten the attention they deserve and could definitely use more spotlight and reviews.

It seems The Fantastic Four: First Steps has taken a break from filming, with star Vanessa Kirby attending the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new film, Ron Howard's Eden, which also stars Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney.
The Mission: Impossible actress - who will play Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in the Marvel Studios reboot - was asked for an update on production on the red carpet of the Eden world premiere, and while she didn't share anything particularly exciting, it sounds like things are going very well and "Marvel's First Family" are all getting on as well as one would hope.
“We love each other so much. I’ve been away from them for two days and I miss them," said Kirby. "We’re having such great time together. I’m really hopeful for the movie and Matt Shakman is amazing and Pedro [Pascal] is heavenly.

The expectation is that Marvel Studios will skip the team's origin story in The Fantastic Four: First Steps but just because we pick up with them as established heroes, it doesn't mean we won't get flashbacks.
New intel has surfaced today (via @UnBoxPHD) which suggests the plan is for scenes tom show the moment Marvel's First Family return to Earth, either after transforming aboard their ship or when they touch back down on Earth.
This is a pivotal moment in their history and getting to see it on screen again is an exciting prospect. The fact it's likely to take place in front of their adoring public may add an interesting wrinkle to proceedings, though.
