A Good Dad
On august 14, 2003, a large scale power outage shuts down New York City, other parts of the North East, Midwest, and Canada. The blackout paralyzes the five boroughs from the afternoon into the evening. Parole officer Bret Polaski and police officer Eric Velasco are in the process of expediting Joe Crisceone, a suspect with a criminal record for statutory rape.
Thomas Gutierrez is on the same path to that same precinct. Thomas is on his way to face the heartbreaking truth that his only child and eight year old daughter, Bethany, was raped in his x-wifeÂ’s building. A building not only close to his current residence, but also the same building he had resided in only months earlier as a married man with his former wife and child. The four men cross paths in an elevator to inadvertently share what was supposed to be just another typical ride to the lobby.
What they end up sharing is a broken elevator thwarted between floors, pitting two patriarchs against their broken destinies. All four men are locked in psychological warfare, treading to one final battle for their gasping lives. One question haunts them. Is this the same man who violated TommyÂ’s daughter? Does vindication matter more to Tommy than the truth?
