All About Ballerina & John Wick's Future
On this All About episode, we break down the John Wick sequels, spin-offs, and prequels that aim to keep the franchise alive and kicking for a long time.
'BALLERINA'
THE SPIN-OFF
Ana de Armas leads Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane into a John Wick spin-off. The 'Blonde' and 'No Time to Die' star plays an assassin avenging her fallen family. We got a glimpse of this character in 'John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum' when Wick asks the Ruska Roma crime boss for help. But this ballerina was played by Unity Phelan. Len Wiseman (the 'Underworld' franchise) directs the script by Shay Hatten ('Day Shift,' 'Army of the Dead').
'JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4'
THE SEQUEL
Before the Ballerina's first dance, Reeves and McShane return for 'John Wick: Chapter 4' in March 2023. Bill Skarsgård ('It,' 'Barbarian') and Donnie Yen ('Ip Man') join as Wick takes on the High Table. 'Chapter 5' was originally planned to end John Wick's tragic tale once and for all, but it seems that Keanu changed his mind. When asked for more Wick, Reeves said, "As far as my legs can take me. As far as the audience wants to go."
"THE CONTINENTAL"
THE PREQUEL
McShane's character will also spin off for a show set in 1975 New York. Colin Woodell ("The Flight Attendant") plays a young Winston as he fights for control of the iconic hotel where the world's deadliest assassin meet. Newcomer Ayomide Adegun plays a young Charon (Lance Reddick) in this 2023 Peacock series.
Halle Berry is also keen on a spin-off for her character, Sofia. We met Berry's Moroccan Continental Hotel manager and her dogs in 'Chapter 3.' No word yet if Sofia will make a return, but we know one thing for certain... Baba Yaga's rampage has only just begun.
