Golden Girls & White Chicks: Busy Philipps Answers The IMDb Interview
In an exclusive interview with IMDb, Busy Philipps unveiled major guest bookings for her QVC+ talk show "Busy This Week," including television legend David Letterman and longtime friend Michelle Williams, while also reflecting on her 25-year journey from "Freaks and Geeks" to talk-show host.
Season 2 of "Busy This Week," premiering May 21 at 10 p.m. ET on QVC+, marks a deliberate return to the talk show format following her previous late-night stint. "Partnering with QVC has been a dream come true," Philipps shared, teasing an impressive roster of upcoming guests for the new series.
Philipps credited "Freaks and Geeks" creator Paul Feig and producers Judd Apatow and Jake Kasdan for shaping her creative trajectory. "Being part of something that early in my career with creators who were so encouraging of all of us to develop our own voices ... really impacted the kind of performer that I became," she noted of her first credited role at age 19.
The multi-hyphenate talent also opened up about her relationship with industry mentor Tina Fey, offering a rare glimpse into their professional dynamic. "One of my favorite things about Tina is that she's such a quiet talker ... she pitches you jokes and you really have to listen. And they're the best jokes you've ever heard," Philipps revealed.
"Busy This Week" joins QVC+'s expanding original programming slate as the platform continues to diversify its content offerings beyond traditional shopping programming. The season 2 premiere, featuring Michelle Williams, debuts May 21 at 10 p.m. ET on QVC+.
