Armando P. Ibanez is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, poet and professor. He serves as Director of the Radio-Television-Digital-Film Program and Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He teaches screenwriting, producing, directing and cinematography. Ibanez has written, produced and directed award winning feature documentaries, shorts and narratives.
The Accolade Global Film Competition and the IndieFEST awarded his latest feature documentary, South Texas Gentle Men of Steel - Los Padres, completed in 2015, an Award of Merit and an Award of Excellence, History/Biographical, respectfully.
In addition, the first feature documentary that Ibanez wrote, produced and directed, Not Broken, about the Hurricane Katrina disaster, won the Platinum Remi Award, the top honor in the Independent Film & Video Documentary category at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival 2008.
Ibanez earned an MFA from The American Film Institute, and is the founder and President of Pluma Pictures Inc., a non-profit film production company, dedicated to producing films about heroes dedicated to the betterment of the community. He is listed in the Dictionary of Literary Biography.
