Amazing film.....very scary.

Psychological thrillers are my favorite type of films! They will scare you and make you think. This movie did both for me as well as being just plain good old entertainment. In a small town in Tennessee in the 1800's a family was haunted or I should say terrorized by an unknown presence. We immediately suspect the neighbor, Kate Batts, an eccentric character who was once John Bell's business partner in a land deal that went bad. Kate cursed the family, Mr. Bell's health, and the daughter Betsy Bell. I won't give away the ending and tell you what happened to this family but we follow them on their journey as their life is forever changed by this torture. There is something about this time period that makes it even scarier, an old estate in the south, and their were no police to protect them just the reverend and the local school teacher. From the haunting noises this film was loaded with suspense. I loved Donald Sutherland...he should get an award for his performance. Check out this film and bring someone to grab onto!

My very favorite film

Could we have more of an all star cast with Michelle Pfeiffer, Cher, and Susan Sarandon, and Jack Nicholson. This movie is funny, crazy, silly, sexy, and just plain great entertainment. It should teach all men not to cross a woman cause you just may not know when you're dealing with a witch. When powerful women get together things happen and men beware. This film shows these women in their normal lives and then when they get together the powers unfold. So fun to watch things happening to Jack Nicholson....his acting is brilliant as usual. When you want to be entertained just rent this film and remember why each of them is a star. Why do we love the all star casts? Maybe because the reason for their stardom is their personality and when great personalities get-together on film.....we all love the chemistry.

A true classic!!

Crimes of the Heart We all have crimes of the heart.....sad, true, and blissful....at times...this film covers all the territory. Based on the successful play this film gathered an ensemble of some of the most talented actors and actresses of our time, which includes Sissy Spacek, Sam Shepard, Tess Harper, Diane Keaton, and Jessica Lange. Taking place in the south, we follow the story of a family's relationship and how they are dealing with their sister shooting her husband. With the strong female cast we can't help but to feel their pain through their emotions, relationship with each other, and how they deal with life. Great strong character choices, yet sisters with something even greater in common....love of family, and loyalty. There are many lessons to learn in this film and one of the most important is you can't turn your back on your family, even when you run away they will be there for you. The acting is superb, the honesty is great and in all a wonderful film to see. A true classic!! When family gathers....everything comes out. My vote for this film is 7 out of 10.
