Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
I used to love this show.
After watching tonight's new season episode, I am thoroughly disappointed by the direction the show is taking. Tonight's 'ripped from the headlines' episode is an unnecessary and infuriating rehash of much of what has been wrong with 2020. With the last eight months being the most difficult time this country, not to mention the world, has known in most of our lifetimes, this episode seems like a feeble 'me too' and 'aren't we woke' attempt to be relevant.
Safe (2018)
Ridiculous!
A surgeon's daughter goes missing. Rather than let the police and trained detectives handle it, the surgeon gets in his car, and zooms around trying to find her himself, nearly getting his best friend killed along the way. It turns out there is a group of friends and neighbors who all went to high school together, and get this... they all live in the same small gated neighborhood, on the same street together, 35 years after high school. The surgeon Michael C. Hall, never has to go in to work to do any surgeries, and actually seems to have very little medical knowledge when confronted with emergencies. There are lots of stupid, unrelated subplots that add nothing. I watched, like staring at a car wreck, the entire series up until about 17 minutes before the ending of the final episode. I just didn't care and wanted it over. This thing doesn't deserve any stars, but I'm giving two stars for effort.
Chrisley Knows Best (2014)
Who are these ridiculous people and why do they have a show?!
I accidently came across this monstrosity of a show one night while spinning the channels. Why does this self-possessed gay guy and his self-possessed family (are those HIS children?) have a tv show? And it's been on since 2014!?! If a large portion of our society likes and watches this abhorrent mess, we are in deep ca-ca. Even if a small portion does...they walk among us! 😳
