Ambulance (2022)
Somewhat funny, totally unrealistic, and liable to trigger PTSD / Panic Attacks
If you have panic attacks, epilepsy or cardiac disorders DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM. Doing so could actually put your health in danger.
The two hours that this film lasted were basically a full on living nightmare of guns violence and poorly assembled medical drama that makes the old ER TV series look like a f---ing diamond mine (even though it too was filled with inaccuracies)
This film is just slightly less loud and annoying than Transformers The Last Knight but still falls into the category of films not to watch through a stereo system, Lord am I thankful we didn't see this s--- pile in the theatre because like Transformers The Last Knight I would have walked out and demanded a refund for my ticket.
The only reason I watched this was it was free on Amazon Prime and my mate was begging to see it. As someone who has had multitudes of serious medical emergencies happen to them and as a gun violence survivor this film rattled me and sent me to a full on panic with chest pains, as I write this I'm still having them and am likely going to need to take emergency medications from my emergency stock.
Did I mention that if you have panic attacks you should not watch this film?
These films aught to come with epilepsy warnings at the start along with panic attack / cardiac disorder alerts that warn people to stop viewing before it starts and get a refund for the ticket if they have a unstable panic disorder or one that could be triggered by such matter.
As someone with complex PTSD this triggered me and hard.
Back to the movie, there were many inaccuracies in medical procedure, running a surgery through video chat on a laptop that isn't even plugged into the gatdamn ambulances power supply that runs out of battery and then doesn't get plugged back in for further guidance, they don't even telephone the guy.
The whole bank heist scene is like something out of Grand Theft Auto 5, the whole gatdamn movie is like a two hour Grand Theft Auto 5 scene but in real life scenes with real gun fire.
A shameless promotion of violence between officers and civilians / criminals and just yet another movie in the long list of movies that will likely make people think about buying a gun to defend their home and person.
It's time we put these type of movies where they belong, in the shredder as soon as their screenplays come in. This was not a movie worth blowing 40 million dollars of likely taxpayer subsidized money (Because Hollywood is heavily taxpayer subsidized, think I'm lying? Look up all the tax cuts and handouts hollywood gets.)
They only made $53 million at the total worldwide gross an thats' pre tax. After taxes they likely lost at least 1 million dollars.
This movie can seriously cause medical emergencies. Your best option is to simply avoid it and anything made by Michael Bay.
Michael Bay is officially on my permanent blacklist.
Family Guy: Internal Affairs (2012)
long fight scene, but otherwise good
This episode starts off quite unusual for Family Guy which portrays its self as a sitcom type style cartoon. The start involves an extremely long fight scene with a large yellow chicken that appears out of no where, this scene lasts for almost 5 minutes with zero dialog, nothing but the punching sound from the two can be heard.
That degrades the episode quite a bit for me, I actually was tempted to fast forward through it but sat through it.
Afterwards the show returns back to its normal good full speed and becomes watchable going into the story of Joe and Bonnie having a massive problem in their relationship.
How the giant chicken scene came along beats me. I really didn't like it and I hope that the producers of Family Guy do not have another chicken brawl scene for a long time.
Dumbbells (2014)
What more can you want out of a stupid gym comedy?
I watched Dumbbells last night, this one is a successful comedy. It's not designed to have a huge story plot but it has one and its relatively simple. For what it is it's kind of over the top for children but young adults will be very amused by this movie. I wouldn't expect older generation seniors and adults to pull as much enjoyment from this movie as would say a 19 year old teen or a 22 year old young adult (me)
Brain Drolet did a good job on this movie. It's 100 minutes of fun that will probably have you laughing hysterically at the screen drooling on yourself if you have a sensitive reflex.
The mediocre reviews on this film are mediocre themselves. This film deserves a chance by any comedy lover. But be warned if your not at all into comedies you will not be into this movie at all whatsoever. It's not designed as a drama, it is a Comedy first and foremost.
The movie all surrounds a small gym where they shoot a movie and get frauded out of a ponzi scheming rich money manager. The resolution at the end of the movie is quite an ironic unexpected twist and really has a good feel.
The movies soundtrack is awesome and if you yourself go to a gym you will be staring at the screen or grabbing your Shazam enabled mobile device.
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
One of the best films to close out 2013
This film is a real hoot to close out 2013.
Owing to the poor situation of our economy currently this film portrays the fraud that goes on in our stock markets every day.
While parts of this film seem quite fictitious and hyped up they are that way for a reason, this film is more of a comed-ocumentary (comedy and documentary) of the fraud that went on with Stratton Oakmont, a New York based Over The Counter (Pink Sheets) brokerage.
If you are a stock trader and have traded pink sheet / OTC-BB then you will love this film, it is a real throw back of what has happened. If you were trading in the days that Stratton Oakmont had a big foothold you may even recognize its logo from in the film.
If you have never traded and know nothing about stocks or investing this film may have some portions of it that will be over head but it is still funny to watch without knowledge of investments, but it will be a lot better if you do brush up on some basic words, it's not overly wordy.
My mother attended with me and had quite a laugh and has no investment knowledge, I myself being a trader absolutely loved this movie.
Steve Madden though was a bit inaccurately portrayed, a bit too nerdy by my opinion.
This is a movie worth seeing.
Her (2013)
A Mediocre techie comedy
Watching the trailers for this film make you excited. You are geared up expecting a great romantic comedy film about a man who purchases a "OS" which is a artificial intelligence Operating System.
The man quickly falls in love with the machine and this leads to a somewhat dry comedy film about him and this machine bonding and creating a relationship.
I was not even able to finish the whole movie as it had become so uninteresting at the mid section that I left the theatre in favor of viewing a different movie.
I was expecting a romantic comedy based on the trailers, not a slow drawn out romance drama. How this got categorized as Sci-Fi somewhat baffles me, sure it takes place in the not too far future where holographic screens are a plenty in the public.
All in all this film might be good if you are into romance movies but if you are like me and need the stimulation of a laugh or two now and then to keep your interest you will find yourself leaving the theatre.
Maybe I'll give this another chance when it comes to cable or DVD
That's What I Am (2011)
Where do I start?
This movie is definitely not worth the hour and a half that it is in time. This movie is a poorly put together plot. Very bland and not funny at all. I really wish that critics and other reviewers would have rated this movie lower. What a waste of an hour and a half. I am so glad I waited for this to come on DVD / Netflix because having wasted over $30 on this at a movie theatre would just make me feel even worse about it. Overall to some people this movie might be worth the time, but for most, it's not.
If you are a school teacher or in school or a school staff member, this movie might be worth the time for you, but if you can't relate to it much then its not really going to have much of an impact on you.
Phenomenon (1996)
Phenomibore is Phenomenally Depressing
Well here it is. Phenomenon is a movie that is very much like Powder, this guy has super knowledge abilities and is able to manipulate objects without touching them. Hmm remind you of an older movie??? This movie stinks of rip off of Powder which was actually a Quality Film, Just because it has Travolta in it does not mean it is going to be worth a DIME. This is just my two cents here, or if your in the UK my two pence. But if you want a movie that is truly heartfelt and will make your spirit feel power and feel uplifted after watching it, this movie is not the right one... your in the wrong place... go look at Powder, one year older, 1995, less special effects technology back in 95, but one dang awesome movie that actually is not a Phenomibore and a PhenomiFAIL
